Women Self-Defence – a non lethal chilli spray developed by DRDO

Hon’ble Defence Minister A.K. Antony informed at Raj Sabha on Wednesday that DRDO has developed a chilli spray for women’s self-defence from world’s hottest chilli grown in Assam Bhut Jolokia (Capsicum Assamicum). It was further reported that it is an eco friendly non-lethal chilli spray for personal protection. It is informed that DRDO will take further steps to popularize the product once trials are over.

Hope once the product is launched, women will make best use of it.

Pray that the cost of Chilli does not shoot up.

With regards:)

Who will check that ONLY women will use this for self defense?
The same product might be used by anti social elements to fleece money and valuables from victims! :fear:

You are so right. Here in USA, pepper spray has been available for long time, then again in USA you can as easily buy a gun and have a carry it.
It might be a deterrent, but just like you say can also be misused.

I, for one, would like to see the spray in action.

Just for you (excuse the language). WARNING bad language.
