# 10. Believe it or not!
There are more bacteria in your body than the number of cells in your body. There are an estimated 75 to 100 trillion cells in the human body.

What makes them pink?

Courtesy Google images.

Flamingos, the large long legged wading birds that inhabit African lakes have a distinctive pink coloration.

All flamingos have some pink in their plumage but the rosy flamingo is entirely pink.

This lovely color is derived from the carotenoid pigments which are present in the microscopic plants and animals these birds eat.

Without this natural food, their pink color fades and their breeding behavior changes. They become literally
off-color.

Also it proves the statement "We are what we eat!"

"Annaath Bhavanthi Bhoothaani!" is how it is put in
Sanskrit.

Some say, "if one eats too many carrots, he/she would turn orange"
Is it!

That makes the circumference of the earth some 30,000 miles I guess.
That means each step of Vamana Avatar covered some 30,000 miles cos his 1st step covered the earth and 2nd step the heavens.

Wow thanks VR Ji..so now we have an idea the stride of Vamana Avatar.

The circumference of the earth is 24,901 miles (40,075 km)

To measure across the globe in one stride,

how tall Vamana Moorthy must have grown!!!

Thanks for all of the work on this blog. My daughter really loves doing research and it is easy to understand why. I notice all regarding the powerful way you deliver helpful items via this web site and as well as inspire contribution from the others on this article then my simple princess is always being taught so much. Take advantage of the rest of the new year. You have been carrying out a useful job.

Yes research it is, if we want to do justice to the job taken up!
My best wishes to your little princess.

People say that I must be much higher in the Google chart.

The only reason why I am not there is ...there not are enough comments! :(

14. Believe it or not!

The aorta, the largest artery in the body, is almost the diameter

of a garden hose. Capillaries, on the other hand, are so small

that it takes ten of them to equal the thickness of a human hair.

15. Believe it or not!

[SUB]Your body has about 5.6 liters (6 quarts) of blood.

These 5.6 liters of blood circulates through the body three times

every minute. In one day, the blood travels a total of 19,000 km

(12,000 miles) - that's four times the distance across the US from

coast to coast. It is also a little less than half way across the globe.

Our eyes can distinguish up to one million color surfaces and take in more information than the largest telescope known to man.

Our hearing is so sensitive it can distinguish between hundreds of thousands of different sounds.

Our sense of touch is more refined than any device ever created.

17. Believe it or not!

We give birth to 100 billion red blood cells every day and about two million red blood cells every second.

When we touch something, we send a message to our brain at 124 mph.
