Dear Tmt VR
On a slightly different note, did you try logging into Geni ? I think [ infact all in our family - various
trees spread across the world ] it is really great. Several 'Family Trees' merge and converge
at various points. I had posted a 'Thread' on this too.
This is what happened to me. My elder Bro and Manni had flown in from the USA to Delhi, where we
[my wife & I] joined them for the Kashi Yatrai - Allahabad, Varanasi and Gaya. The main purpose
was to perform the Pitru Karyams at these places.
At all three places, for the Pinda Pradanam, we [ as fate would decree] were sat alongside a couple
from Mysore who were also of our Gothram - Lohitha , and were also saying the names of the very
people for whom we were doing the karyams.
On the third day, in Gaya, we got talking and found them to be long-lost cousins, by linking up
names of G.G Fathers, G.Uncles etc ., as told to us in our 'family tales.
Through Geni we found the the precise 'path' by which we were related. Several mutual acquaintances
surfaced up, and a healthy interaction started. We will shortly be having their G Daughter staying with
us to do her B.E. here in Chennai, starting this academic.
Members of several branches we found, are not well-off - some in dire need. We haven't yet
started a corpus fund - but the idea has been mooted and agreed to in principle.
Please try it, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
