Dear Doc

One can actually draw a parallel between life forms originating in water to becoming amphibious to
then metamorphosing to terrestrial - the path charted out by Darwin's Theory of Organic Evolution
and the manifestations of The Almighty in His Dashaavataaram.

" Water water everywhere, not a drop to drink " - is from the poem "Rime of the Ancient Mriner"
by Sam Coleridge - thought to be inspired by the second expedition of James Cook.

Sometimes attributed to the explorer Magellan too.

Dear sir,

I fully agree..Darwin was searching high and low for the missing link but I feel the missing link is the "Karmic Evolution"

Just apply the Karmic theory to Darwin's theory and its perfectly explains life.

[h=1]Fresh Water at Sea![/h]
Water, water,every where,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink.

So cried the Ancient Mariner, in Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem.

Had he known where to look for it, he could have dipped his cup in to the sea and raised to his lip a drink of delicious fresh water. Drinking water in the sea is a miracle, but it is a possible miracle!

This miracle happens this way. The rain water falls on land and seeps to the sea bed through porous rocks called “aquifers”, to supply the springs at the sea bed or ocean floor.

Aquifers are porous chalk or lime stone sandwiched between two layers of water-proof rocks that extend beneath the sea.

Fresh rain water, filtering down the aquifer to the sea bed is under sufficient pressure, to force its way through any cracks ( in the sea bed or ocean floor).

It gushes out into the sea as a spring of fresh water.

It has a higher temperature and lower density than the surrounding saline water. So it floats up to the surface, without mixing with the sea water. This forms packets of fresh water on the surface of the sea.

The existence of such fresh water springs has been known for hundreds of years. The earliest reference to such a spring was made by a 15th century Arabian navigator. Similar springs exist off the South east coast of The U.S.A and off the coasts of Britain and Ireland.

Visalakshi Ramani.

[h=1]பரிணாம வளர்ச்சி![/h]

உலகில் பரிணாம வளர்ச்சியினை;

முன்னர் நீரில் உயிரினம் தோன்றியது;
பின் நீரிலும், நிலத்திலும் வாழ்பவை;

மாறுவது மனித சரீரமும், சம்சாரமும்;

நான்கு கால் பிராணிபோல் தவழும் குழவி;
நன்றாகத் திகழும் அழகிய வாலிபம்;
ஊன்று கோலுடன் மூன்று கால் முதுமை;

விளையாட்டுப் பிள்ளையின் பருவம்;

கடல் அலைகள் ஓய்ந்தாலும் ஓயலாம்;

We are all lost in the Samsaara saagaram!:(

Dear Tmt VR

Wow! This piece of information is absolutely new to me. I have seen the Arab Bedouins ' MAKE '
drinking water, but to scooping fresh water out of the sea really zapped me!

Dear Tmt VR

On a slightly different note, did you try logging into Geni ? I think [ infact all in our family - various
trees spread across the world ] it is really great. Several 'Family Trees' merge and converge
at various points. I had posted a 'Thread' on this too.

This is what happened to me. My elder Bro and Manni had flown in from the USA to Delhi, where we
[my wife & I] joined them for the Kashi Yatrai - Allahabad, Varanasi and Gaya. The main purpose
was to perform the Pitru Karyams at these places.

At all three places, for the Pinda Pradanam, we [ as fate would decree] were sat alongside a couple
from Mysore who were also of our Gothram - Lohitha , and were also saying the names of the very
people for whom we were doing the karyams.

On the third day, in Gaya, we got talking and found them to be long-lost cousins, by linking up
names of G.G Fathers, G.Uncles etc ., as told to us in our 'family tales.

Through Geni we found the the precise 'path' by which we were related. Several mutual acquaintances
surfaced up, and a healthy interaction started. We will shortly be having their G Daughter staying with
us to do her B.E. here in Chennai, starting this academic.

Members of several branches we found, are not well-off - some in dire need. We haven't yet
started a corpus fund - but the idea has been mooted and agreed to in principle.

Please try it, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

It is a very strange coincidence that distant realtives should meet like

this. I am sure it was arranged by one of our forefathers who must

have been good in coordination people!

My brother's mother in law launched Geni. Their family is large with

scores of first cousins and hundreds of second cousin none

of whom I know even by name. The new connections spotted by the

Geni were to be explained to my husband's satisfaction. I could not

since I knew none of them. So I finally unsubscribed from Geni just to

remain sane and sound. The word Geni sends shivers through my

body. I saw the thread but did not dare to enter it. :scared:

P.S.

We are not of much importance in the family circles. Most people just

ignore us while some others wantonly boycott us. Suits me well

too-since I can have less things to worry about and also not suffer

from any guilty conscience that I boycotted them!

I will place myself in the "also came category!"

I hope you understand!

19. Believe it or not!

Our nose is our very own personal air-conditioning system:

it warms cold air, cools hot air and also filters impurities.

We have copper, zinc, cobalt, calcium, manganese, phosphates,

nickel and silicon in our bodies.

(Mr. A.V.V.R was right about the presence of

Sapta dhaathus in human body!)

Dear Tmt VR

While I am sorry to learn about the social boycott, I know exactly how you must be feeling. We,
[especially my Parents ] had had a sufficient dose of insults, let-downs and back-stabbing
from relatives of the same generation. We, the next generation never really cared a damn and
never carried their battle-wounds or even grouses. On many occasions we have stood by the elders
who had been wronged or were victims of others' snobbery.

Oh! they were at each-others' throats all the time, causing such deep wounds to one-and-all,that even
TIME cannot heal. I guess, that is one of the lessons we learnt as kids - " How Not To Be " !

I am also sorry if I have touched-upon a very sensitive issue, I didn't mean to.

Vitamin M is so powerful that it can corrupt even sadhus and sanyasins ...
who seem to posses more of it than the elected governments of countries.

Not that I really care about the class discrimination! :hand:....:whistle:

As long as we know our own worth, nothing else really matters.:nono:

That is why I :love: this forum where people are welcomed, liked and appreciated for their merits, irrespective of the Vitamin M!
