These days, we notice a concern prevailing in many people's minds about helping others.
People often talk of helping others and concern for others care and love. There is a quote
that if you help somebody, you will be helped by someone else. The religious literature too
in this connection gives ample information with tenets to be observed emphasizing the
importance of engaging in pre-social behaviour, giving of oneself to those in need for
other's well being and not expecting any reward. Helping others should be something
in principle i.e. that has to come from the heart and not from the words alone.

Hari Ohm. Raama naamam ​

Once a Guru or teacher was teaching Vishnu sahasra naamam to a group of boys aged between 8 and 12 years. Guru chanted the slokam ​

Sri Raama Raama Raamethi Rame Raame Manorame ​

Sahasranaama Tathulyam Raama Naama Varaanane “and told the students ​

" if you chant Raama naamam three times, it is equivalent to chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasranaamam or chanting Lord's Naamam 1000 times. ​

One of the boys was very naughty and always had questions about everything the teacher said. Immediately he asked " Guro, how can three times become equal to 1000 times, I do not get the logic. Please explain to us how that equation of 3 naamams =1000 naamams works". ​

Guru was not only smart, but was a great devotee of Lord Raama. In one moment, Guru knew how to explain the validity of the unusual equation. He said: Lord Shiva says that the name of Lord Rama is the sweetest of all the words & chanting this name would be equivalent to chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasranama or thousand names of Vishnu . ​

Here is the interesting calculation by which we can prove that 3 times chanting of Rama naamam becomes equivalent to 1000 times chanting or chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasra naamam. ​

Take the name Rama. It has two letters RA and MA. ​

When you take the consonants in Sanskrit alphabet, ​

​

RA is the second consonant in the group of five consonants Ya, RA, La, Va, Sha and ​

​

MA is the fifth in the group of five consonants Pa, Pha, Ba, Bha, MA. ​

​

When you substitute the value of RA and MA as 2 and 5 ​

​

RAMA is equivalent to 2x5= 10. Then, ​

​

Sri Rama Rama Rama (iti) is equivalent to 2x5 x 2x5 x2x5= 10x10x10= 1000. ​

The boy was happy with the answer and started learning Vishnu Sahasranaamam with full concentration and devotion. ​

While Vishnu Sahasranamam can be found in Shanti Parva of the Mahabharatham,
Matsya Purana can be read from Padma Purana. It talks about His attributes.
Bhagavat Pathal Adi Shankaracharya, Parasara Bhattar and Madhavacharya have
given an elaborate Commentary emphasizing the importance of chanting of
Vishnu Sahasranamam. It is dedicated not only to Lord Vishnu, but also to
Lord Shiva, Goddess Devi and Lord Ganesh, etc.

I wrote that post for fun but you know a genetic predisposition to adultery or addictive habits actually will make us under stand religion even better.
Cos you see we Hindus believe that each one of us have vasanas brought forward from our previous birth.

That explains how some of us are so different from our parents and siblings in thought,word and deeds.
So if there is a genetic predisposition for certain types of behaviors that means to a certain extent this predisposition is shaped by our vasanas in our Subtle body.

The Subtle body is like a photocopy of the Physical Body only thing is it is finer in its vibration and form.
So that means there is a possibility that there is genetic karmic variation in each one of our subtle body too.

So I might want to coin the terminology Vasanic for the Inherent Vasana Tendencies in our Subtle body which translates as addictive and promiscuous behavior in some of us humans.

So there is actually more than what we really know.
