It appears that in Vishnu Puranam, there is a mention about combing the hair
by the girls and getting tied on two sides (two Jadai) instead of one, instead
of separating the hair at the middle of head (Neir Vahidu), drawing a slanting
line on the side. Besides cutting the hair to get trimmed in the Saloon is not
advisable as regards girls or women. Either women or girls, should not enter
the house after taking bath with water dropping on the floor from the hair.
Will any one like this, these days. Further, there appears to be a mention that
such things will happen in Kaliyuga.

Dear sir,

In ancient times even males had long hair and never cut their hair.
So I guess in Kaliyuga both sexes trim their hair.

I love long hair(but not too long..slightly above waist line is fine ..so we can let it loose when we go out).

I love long hair cos as a child right up to the age of 18 I was NOT allowed to keep long hair since my mother felt that a young person should have short hair while studying and only grow it long if she wishes when she is an adult.

I hate all my teen age pics..I looked like an idiot.
That's why when I turned 19..i grew my hair long and don't look like an idiot anymore.

My mum loves short hair and sports a bob cut.
When she was young her father never allowed her and her sisters to cut their hair at all.
So when she and her sisters turned adults..they all cut bobbed their hair.

For me it is the opposite..since I was not allowed to keep long hair as a child..now I love long hair!!

So kids finally end up doing opposite of what parents tell them.

Acharya Atre, a famous and fearless journalist and owner of 'Maratta",
a newspaper in Marathi, was addressing a meeting in Shivaji Park, Bombay
many decades ago . He used to criticise the then ruling congress party
vehemently mixed with humour. Once he told the following story at
a meeting held at Shivaji park, Bombay. This was many decades ago.

A surgeon did a brain surgery but he forgot to put it back before
stitching. Soon he realised the mistake when he saw it on the operation table. He preserved it , thinking that the patient would find it soon and return to demand it. But the man did not come for many years.

After five years, the man came to his clinic and asked the surgeon-
Doctor, please put my brain back in its place.

The surgeon asked him - what were doing all these five years ?
why you did not come all these years ?. I will have to check whether
it works.

Man - doctor, it will, for it has not been used, no wear and tear .

surgeon - what were doing ? . Tell me.

Man - doctor, I was a Minister in the congress govt. during these
five years. Hence I did not need it. The congress ministers do not
need any brain, they will survive with money and muscle power.

surgeon - then, why now ?

man - Dont you read the newspapers. I am out of the cabinet now.
I will have to work and earn money for maintaining my family. So I
need my brain.

surgeon - ok, I shall.

dear renuka ji !
it is true about boys also .in young age those followed dicipline &strict vedic karmas supervised by their parents, turn
most indiciplined &less care for rituals once they are separated from home cos of higher study or employment but they return to their usual nature after some time.but a boy who is not knowing anything in young age & acustomed to good habits while in hostel or learned through new contacts in employement ,continue it till his end of life.

Very Young children and very old people share common traits.
They get dehydrated very fast.
They can withstand neither extreme heat not extreme cold.
I think it is because the small children have greater surface ares
for their unit mass/ weight when compared to adults.
The very old have lost all the protective fat tissues (adipose?)
which renders them vulnerable to both heat and cold.
I request Dr Renu /Dr. C.N. / Mr. Raghy to elaborate on this.

dear VR !
is it because their fat under skin vanished or red cells in blood reduced ? or beacuse the skin becoming soft ?
or cos of kidney malfuction

While I was in Nagpur, I used to notice people keeping Onion in their ears to
avoid heat stroke and they consume plenty of water to escape from dehydration.
Secondly, we notice people not leaving the children alone in the Car, when they
go for shopping owing to the generation of heat in the Car when the temperature
is high. Leave alone AC Cars. Heat exaustion normally occurs above 90 degrees
or so and similarly heat stroke is likely to occur when temperature rises about 105
degrees or so.

# 74. Believe it or not.

The adrenal glands change in size throughout life but instead of growing bigger, they keep shrinking throughout our lives.

They lie
right above the kidneys and are responsible for releasing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline.

In the seventh month of a fetus’ development, the glands are roughly the same size as the kidneys.

At birth the glands have shrunk slightly and will continue to do so throughout life.

In fact, by the time a person reaches old age, the glands are so small they can hardly be seen.

Sneezes regularly exceed 100 mph!!!

There’s a good reason why we can’t keep our eyes open when we sneeze.

A sneeze is rocketing out of your body at close to 100 mph.

This is a good reason to cover your mouth when you sneeze.

Of late my sneezes stopped halfway! I could never sneeze fully

and get rid of the irritating element. Naturally i got worried.

One day I sneezed while sitting in anther room and another

chair. It was the usual one at 100m.p.h!

Then the truth dawned on me. I was sitting with my back

supported by the bedroom wall and the wall won't budge to let

me sneeze freely. It was a great mental relief!!!

Sneezing may occur owing to cold or allergies due to dust or smoke in the
environment. By sneezing, one is able to get rid of the dirt or environmental
irritation. Vigorous sneezing only wracks the entire body. People having Sciatica
problem may feel very bad because of sneezing, my daughter who is
suffering from Sciatica is availing of acupuncture to get relieved.

My father used to tell us to never control or curb a sneeze.
He had an explosive way of sneezing....almost unique.:boom:
He used to snore loudly too!

My elder son when very young used to wonder :baby:

how a lion visited our house every night

but never during the day!

# 75. Believe it or not.

Of sneeze is at 100 m.p.h, Coughs clock in at about 60 mph.

Viruses and colds get spread around the office and the classroom

quickly during cold and flu season.

With the 60 mph coughs spraying germs far and wide, it is small

wonder.

Women blink twice as many times as men do.

That is quite a lot of blinking every day.

The average person blinks about 13 times a minute.

The eyelids work similar to the wind screen wipers cleaning the eye ball and

making it moist!

When women want to attract men they flutter their real or attached

eyelashes and that is quite interesting to watch!

The logic lying behind this act...

we always see the eyes or the lips of the person w
e are talking to!

Normally we listen to a quote from religious leaders that "Maanidanai Pirathal Arithu".
Because the religious leaders taking into various pros and cons and after the enjoying
the fruits of God's blessings and wishes, through their experience over the years, make
this statement with some meaning behind it. We all know that God creates many creatures
including plants and animals. However, we are blessed with an extra bonus to have an
additional feature of speaking, understanding, replying and acting to the elder's desires,
etc. It is because, the human body, is really a very rare one and an wonderful creation
by the God. We can also notice in our ancient literatures and Pravachanams, that a
human body is a beautiful and wonderful Bhavan or a glorious place of God. We may all
get a doubt as to how. In fact the God dwells in those people's body who have surrendered
everything to HIM. The intellect or the Buddhi, what we have acts as a Minister to guide
us while the Mind commands or directs the things to do it in the right path. The Indriyas
or the Senses, perhaps play a role of soldiers to monitor it. The vision what we have is
supposed to be windows through which one can see as to what is happening in this world.
The Indriyas viz. Nose, Ears, besides Eyes can be termed as Security Guard by their
functions, just like Devatas presiding over the Indriyas. If that be the case, why should
we utilise our body for unwanted and unlawful activities without having a determination to
do Aanmiga activities at leisure hours so as to attain the bliss of the God. If one realises
this concept, the life will be very happy and enjoyable.
