Well said. Let us practise more; talk less.

Ms.Meghavarshini,
What is the objective behind this thread? If a person not born in a brahmin but possessing brahmin qualities or practicing like a brahmin is simply hypothetical. Secondly, a person practicing like a brahmin but not born in a brahmin family need not bother whether he is recognnised as a brahmin. Brahmins whether by birth or otherwise does not need recognition that he is a brahmin. Thirdly, who should recognise the person practising brahmin conventions to be a brahmin. In fact, brahmins are recognised as such by others and not by brahmins themselves. Of course, whether, he would be admitted into the group of brahmins is decided by a group of brahmins and that recognition is not valid for other groups of brahmins. Brahmins are not issued any certificate by any Government authority as such. Therefore, your question is not valid on facts. It is better that this thread is closed immediately. The discussion that has taken so far on this thread and on identical threads in my opinion is a waste of time. People, who want to kill their time, may of course, participate in such useless discussions. rajaji48

POSTING AGAIN-
I'm sorry, this was a complete waste of time. Apart from having my text deconstructed by dozens of people, nothing productive happened. Sorry for posting such a 'terrible' and 'vague' post(feel free to add more epithets).
Advice to read older posts was unnecessary, I did that before writing this.

who is what ?

There is nothing called caste as the division defined (my humble opinion) more by the individual's nature, habits, intake, methods practised to lead thier life, in earlier times. In short people have got the lifestyle, food habits body structure suited the profession pursued by individuals to lead thier life. However over the periods, due to humanbeing's change of habits, living style, Early divisions were avoided and new set of definitions with a name called Caste created by the individuals to protect themselves of thier actions born out of thier nature to survive and live selfishly even if it is at the cost of fellow humanbeing's destruction.More and more change in human nature against nature lead to destruction of Nature on whom's help the world survive. I wonder how many of us have time to think deeply about how the word caste came into exisistance? Unfortunately in today's polluted world knowingly or unknowingly almost everybody is"NOT A (VEGITARIAN) ". A great significance is attached to be A Vegistarian or not?.In comparison to non vegitatarian food, vegitarian food (excluding gene etc) keeps oneself to some extent less aggressive. So in my opnion nobody can be bracketed to a particular class(the virus CASTE) if one observe each and every individual's food habits, lifestyle and the way they earn for thier livelywood.Because of these, even thier body nature, food habits lifestyle defined to belong to a particular divsion in earlier times completly changed.SO to conclude i personaly feel sad when i see people talking more loudly about caste without realising the significance of the divisons made on basis of the profession in earlytimes.
Thank you all.

The Varnas are determined by the placement of planets in the rashis. Based upon how well the placements, determines the varnas. The Varnas reflect the thoughts of people which is again to be caused by the placement of planets. Thus, Brahmana has auspicious placements of planets nad it continues downwards with kshatriya, vaishyas and sudras. But, Due to some good deeds in previous births people in lower varnas have mighty planets, thus it becomes the key for them to move into higher souls next birth.

Those people who have a higher quality of thoughts and discipline can always be defined a brahmin.

Today, anyone born of brahmin parents or adopted by brahmin parents is a brahmin.

All brahmin parents, whether devout practicer or weekend practicer must encourage his children to learn or get exposed to principles and practices of his kula/ community traditions.

The parents must not stand in the way of the young ones if they want to seek livelihood from traditional vocations. Velukkkudi Krishnan left his auditing job to take up upanyasams (he is very good at it); I know two cases - one an MBA left his management job to take up prohitam; another, a bank officer, quit to become a temple priest. All are earning well. A friend of mine, has put his young son in a gurukulam to learn vedas with the boy's permission and mother's blessings.

Those who want to preserve traditions must do all they can to support the institutions and individuals to make them financially independent and viable.

All mutts, aadeenams, patashalas deserve support and contribution.
