What is wrong with Delhiites?
I am not a BJP fan but AAP was a fiasco first time, why risk the repeat.

According to exit polls AAP will win the Delhi elections but I think we have to wait till the finals results are officially out . My take is that AAPs victory if at all is more of consolidation of anti BJP votes i.e Congress Votes , Minority Votes etc . Plus BJP in case it looses must blame itself for messing with the CM Candidate as many Cadres were demoralized by this late and sudden announcement .

One cant predict how AK will behave in case he becomes the CM . But if he again does tamasha as the CM like he did last time then that will be the end of AAP .

I am willing to wait till the final results are out on 10th Feb . The final seat tally and vote percentage will help us understand how the voters have voted , whose vote share increased and whose vote share decreased .

I agree with your post.
Admitting a new member (defector a turncoat at that) who was in opposition and make her CM was a poor idea.

For me I am more keen on the percentage of Votes that Congress has got and that will help us see how the loss of congress vote percentage has helped AAP . If Congress vote percentage remains intact then it must be bad news for BJP as then AAP has taken a huge chunk of the new young voters plus consolidated the non BJP , non Congress Voters and worst of all whether some BJP voters have themselves voted for AAP as a protest against BJP nominating Kiran Bedi at the last minute without a broad consensus from the rest of the Cadres .

Looks like Delhiites want to give a second chance to the maverick person!

bjp stormed to power at the center promising development.

instead unleashed the communal elements, assorted sadhus, sadhvis and gharvapasi program.

the empty rhetoric and sale of dreams for economic prosperity could not be matched with concrete actions on the

ground.

corruption could not be reduced in municipal corporation, safety of women got ignored

the PM wearing expensive suits with his name embossed flying in helicopters , his ministers continuing with vip

culture sent a message that they were no different from congress.

it is a negative vote for bjp .than a positive vote for AAP.

In case if this is true then in a way it is good slap that BJP and Modi got it at the right time so that they tone down their arrogance of their Parliamentary Victory and make necessary course correction . However I would wait for the final results along with the exact Voting Percentage to understand the real voting pattern .

Sangomji said excatly the same thing 2 years ago. I am no BJP fan but I wanted Modiji to succeed because it will be success for India. Alas it is disappointing to see this dismal performance. Like Jathmalani said, they failed to bring back even a penny of black money. People do remember, even if the opposition is in disarray, BJP loosing is miserable. A Good verdict and all the goodwill is squandered.

Kiran Bedi, the whisperers admit, is not the striking success the BJP hoped she would be. The numbers at her rallies are overshadowed by Kejriwal’s. Her interviews have often created problems because she’s betrayed an embarrassing ignorance of well-known BJP policies. Worst of all, choosing her as chief ministerial candidate has upset party loyalists who thought this was their moment to shine in the sun.
In contrast, the Aam Aadmi Party has had a very effective campaign. Whether or not it will rise like a phoenix from the ashes of earlier defeats we don’t as yet know. But Arvind Kejriwal has clearly galvanised both his party and its supporters.
No doubt he’s lost the middle classes but I suspect he’s cemented the poor, the minorities and the otherwise forgotten to his cause. Numerically, that’s a majority of Delhi.
At times, BJP strategies have helped Arvind Kejriwal. The decision to pose five questions each day focused attention on Kejriwal without helping the BJP. This is partly because the questions were old and lacked bite but mainly because they underlined the fact he’s the cause of the BJP’s apprehension and anxiety.

AAP ascension in Delhi portends ominous signs for the country! It is a naxalite outfit in the garb of a political party!

vganeji
terming AAP as a naxalite outfit might be an over reaction.

this party will be a check on party in power at the centre since congress has abdicated its role.

it may take a couple of years for congress to regroup and re emerge.

all that happened in delhi was congress votes of about 8 percents got transferred to AAP . this led to a landslide for

AAP.

it is not as if AAP is going to be any better this time. It will be populist, reduce power tariff , give free water, check

corruption in police and MCD. Other welfare measures if they happen , then it is good. Kejriwal will be no different

from modi as he is likely to be equally autocratic and loves himself enough to treat his colleagues badly.

delhi people are bold. if they are fed up with kejriwal , they will choose someone else. thats the spirit of delhi

Yes that is the key . More than a positive vote for AAP , it is an anger against BJP,Modi that the entire non BJP votes got transferred to AAP . This defeat is also a very big slap for the Congress as the people feel that it is not even fit to be in the Opposition . So now the onus is on AK,AAP to deliver and he must now understand that when Modi himself got a slap within 9 months , AK will not be given even that luxury for 9 months .

i think the voting percentage once it is out will give the real picture between the winners and losers . So we need to wait for the final results to understand the real picture of the results . More than the seats won/lost , it is the voting percentage that will help each party to Understand why they won , lost . I am willing to wait for the 10th to understand the more finer points of this electoral verdict ir-respective of who wins .

Ir-respective of who wins the highest no of seats in the Delhi Assembly elections , the real picture lies in the percentage of votes each part have secured . All the major parties ( AAP , BJP , Congress ) must evaluate the percentage of votes they have secured now v/s the votes secured in the last assembly elections and in the Parliamentary Elections overall as well as constituency by constituency . That will give a more clear picture to understand the real mood of the Delhi electorate .

[h=1]Fear of AAP win drags sensex down by 491 points[/h]

TNN | Feb 10, 2015

MUMBAI: A combination of domestic concerns and international developments pulled the markets down on Monday with the sensex closing nearly 500 points lower, its seventh consecutive session of loses. Expectations that Aam Admi Party (AAP) may win state elections which could then become the first state election defeat to prime minister Narendra Modi-led BJP, put investors on the back foot on Monday who liquidated some of their positions to stay in cash ahead of the results in Delhi on Tuesday.

Market players are not very comfortable with AAP's socialist bent of mind and their opposition to some of the large business houses. They feel if AAP comes to power, that may be detrimental to growth of some of the businesses and hence the jittery reaction of market players to exit poll results predicting a win for the party led by Arvind Kejriwal.

Fear of AAP win drags sensex down by 491 points - The Times of India

Will it be a hung assembly..BJP & AAP in a neck and neck race!

BJP, AAP lead in 4 seats each, including Kiran Bedi's Krishna Nagar, and Congress in 1 at 8.20 AM

Early trend: AAP leads in 10, BJP in 8, Congress in 2, others in 1at 8.30...Will Congress ally with AAP?

Already AAP success is due to the transferance of Congress Votes to AAP and so whethey they like it or not the Congress Voters have already allied with AAP . It is now up to the party to reclaim back its vote back and whether they can do it by aligning with AAP or staying alone is to be seen .

Celebrations by AAP! Spectacular performance by AAP!

  1. AAP is leading in 27 seats now, the BJP in 11. The Congress is leading in five seats and others are ahead in 1.
  2. These are early trends and could change, but at this pace and if it holds on to its leads, AAP could be looking at forming the next government comfortably, NDTV's experts said.
  3. The BJP has admitted that the current trends are worrying. The Congress' Ajay Maken has pointed out that it is already leading in more seats than exit polls gave it.
  4. The BJP's presumptive chief minister Kiran Bedi is leading in the Krishna Nagar seat in East Delhi, from where she is contesting her first election.
  5. An aggregate of exit polls showed AAP winning 42 seats in the 70-member house. It gave the BJP 26 seats and the Congress two.
  6. Hundreds of AAP volunteers have gathered at the party's office in Patel Nagar, west Delhi, anticipating good tidings after exit polls predicted a big win for Mr Kejriwal, who is tracking developments from there.
  7. AAP's Yogendra Yadav tweeted this morning, "This may be a historic day! The juggernaut likely to halt. David likely to overcome Goliath," referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed a blitz of rallies in the last days of campaigning.
  8. The BJP is emphatic that the Delhi election will not reflect on the Modi government's popularity. Kiran Bedi has said she will accept responsibility for her party's performance today.
  9. But if AAP wins today, it will be the first major setback for PM Modi since he won the national election. The BJP has won most recently held state polls based on BJP chief Amit Shah's strategy of projecting only Mr Modi.
  10. Exactly a year ago, Arvind Kejriwal had quit as chief minister after 49 days in office, over his anti-corruption bill, forcing President's Rule in Delhi. A giant board at his party office today reads, "Janta ka CM (The chief minister of the people)".
Delhi Election Result: Kejriwal Again? AAP Celebrations As Leads Show Big Win

AAP has reached half way mark...Has reached 35 out of 42 seats...BJP -6 seats, Congress-1..A moment of introspection for BJP..Should be worried by the spectacular raise of AAP
