Though vote shares will change till the last vote is counted trends indicate that AAP vote share is leading BJP's by 19%...Not only Congress votes have shifted to AAP, there is an erosion on BJP's too in Delhi!

Dr Swamy tweets: Time for introspection, reality check and course correction for the sake of the nation. Tripod mention in tweets has to be re balanced....

May be this is isolated...BJP is 5 times unlucky in Delhi...May be because of its cosmopolitan nature, sops by AAP, middle class apathy and lower classes anger..All this in unison has caused it...Even during last Parliamentary elections, the talk was AK for CM & Modi for PM...The people's CM (I am not talking JJ but AK) is ultimately coronated the head!

Vgane

For me more than the seats the vote percentage gives the real story . So with the huge increase in the vote percantage of AAP , it is serious time for both BJP and Congress to think about the type of Politics they need to do i.e more people based leaders , rather than leaders driving in SUVs . This is a very big slap to Modi . Amit Shah and the Hardcore elements of BJP and time for course correction in their arrogant behavior post their victory in the parliamentary election .

It seems from the trends AAP is going to wipe out both BJP and Congress.

Wake up call for Modi to do something constructively; instead of talking about Bullet Trains, Made in India, Plastic Surgery etc.

Delhi was once a citadel of BJP. Due to infighting, lack of powerful local leader, coupled with Modi's autocratic approach and non-cooperation from local leaders, caused BJP very dearly in this election. Now, it is going to be 20 years for BJP out of power in Delhi.

Modi suddenly behaves like Indira Gandhi. He said something but now functions differently.

I am no fan of AK and his style of politics that he did when he was the CM for 49 days and I hope he at least now he reforms and gives good Governance but one thing I am happy that the present Delh results have shoved a hot rod in the rear of Modi , Amit Shah and all the hardcore elements in BJP and to such an extent the rod had been shoved that BJP will loose even the status of the principal opposition party and now at least it is high time Modi and BJP do a honest introspection and do what the people really need and not keep sellings dreams and visions . As for Congress I can only say that better they merge with AAP to get some respect at least .

hi

all national should learn from local state parties....just they can't ignore local parties....bjp and congress should learn and respect

regional parties....delhi electorates mostly educated and direct influence of centre....

I would say just listen to local day to day issues and not sell dreams and visions . Be one among the people and stop this VIP , VVIP Culture .

Great. AAP success is the result of hard work to connect with common people. People expect results and not promises
of development alone. I feel sorry for Ms. Kiran Bedi, she deserves success.

What Modi told Kejriwal in first ever phone call

What Modi told Kejriwal in first ever phone call

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called up AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, congratulating him on his party âs landslide win in Delhi.

Congratulations on the victory, we will work together, PM told Kejriwal. We all want Delhi development.

To this, Kejriwal said: I wish to meet you as soon as possible.

Yes, we will meet for tea,Modi is said to have replied.

In a tweet later, Modi said: Spoke to @ArvindKejriwal & congratulated him on the win. Assured him Centre's complete support in the development of Delhi.

The AAP was leading on 63 seats in Delhi and the BJP on mere 6 as counting of votes continues for the Delhi elections.

Good...this shows that Modi is not concerned about winning alone....he is concerned about development.
He handles defeat well..good trait. Seems selfless in my opinion.

Modi is self less person and who demands sacrifice and hardwork from people but the problem is that he is surrounded by some hard core elements who want to focus on their "own hindutva agenda" and that is harming Modi's development agenda and this result will help Modi to kick those hard core elements and focus on the development agenda which he promised to the people of India and which also gave him the Mandate .

Being in delhi, one gets to see history being made on the streets of delhi.

the last time it was in 1977 when janata party swept to power and congress was thrown out.

now BJP has met the same fate.

the reasons
communal agenda
arrogance
high rhetoric with no change on the ground
no social inclusion of poorer sections
emergence of a cleaner alternative promising clean politics.

there is drum beating and celebrations right outside my home.

more a feeling of relief that we might get to see some law and order, policemen on notice, some relief in power,

water bills[ the relief could be about 2k per month] , better safety for women hopefully, end to inspector raaj and

corruption of govt agencies for traders, perhaps lower vegetable prices if the govt controls middle men who stock and

create scarcities. simple aspirations of general public matter more than 7 percent growth, bullet trains, smart cities

and fancy promises. delhi has spoken decisively . will others get the message ?

I agree..that is why I wrote earlier that he needs to get rid of the Hindutva Brigade.

For any State election, the party must have a strong local leader, who is prepared to work for the people. Even Modi came to lime light only because of this.

But once he becomes PM, he slowly tries to change that culture. BJP was able to win 32 seats in 2013 Assembly election when Harsha Vardhan was projected as CM Delhi. He was now appointed as Health Minister. Manohar Parikkar, who did reasonably well as CM in Goa, was appointed as Defence Minister. He wants to function like Indira Gandhi.
