A number of Temple Artists and Sculptors live in States and construct temples
of Indian origin. It is a gifted life to them. Recently, one of friends relatives
who live in Arizona informed me that there is a South Indian Temple, where all
the Deities are housed. Somewhere near Scottstale or so. Perhaps, if it is near
your place, you may be able to spend some time over there during week ends.

Garuda Purana having around 16 Chapters or so is a part of Vishnu Purana and it has
many important and vital features about the death of a person after life. It states
clearly that the souls, which go to the world of Naragam or Hell, whatever it is called,
is returned to the earth and they do stay eternally after the necessary punishments
are over. They again take birth on the earth. To be precise is broadly discusses about

- about death after life
- Sin
- Life in Hell
- Lord Yama, his city and about the Underworld
- Lord Chitragupta
- Various kinds of punishments
meted out to the Sinners
- How to avoid the Sin on the earth by adopting ritual and
spiritual methods
- About funeral rites to be performed
- If not done to the departed soul, what happens then
- It also deals with the topic of liberation through the
practice of Yoga and Devotion.

It is a very important ancient Purna, which needs to be read at lease once.

Hello Balu sir ,very well said .post 1221. yes Garuda Purana has a lot of wonderful ,useful thoughtful accepts in it .age /gender is no bar in knowing /reading it .when a person really goes through the book in an idea to know properly ,but stating it to threaten people not to do sin .(as many people say so.) can gain a lot of surprising information . actually at present kali yuga its the best guide regarding how a person should /not to be in their life.I have gone through the wonderful book few times .to know about the journey of our ATMA is really worth .I feel its a must to read in the life time.I thank MR.Balu sir ,for sharing this valuable topic with us.
 
Coming to Meditation aspect, the versatile Sutra is Patanjali. One can attain higher
consciousness through Meditation. We have different groups of people and to bring
them together, i.e. Asthika (those who believe in God), Nasthika (those who do not
believe in God) and Dwaishtika (those who believe in fate or destiny), Yoga Sutra will
be an apt medium (an indirect method of bringing a person into the consciousness of
supreme power). We had great Masters in our Country like Shri Ramakrishna Paramahans,
Swami Vivekanand, Shri Ramana Maharishi, etc. who provided inspiration and guided
everyone towards the path of finding the true greatness of our ancient traditions.
Above all, there is a treasure of Patanjali Yoga Sutra, which consists of 196 Verses
divided into 4 Chapters commencing from Sadhana to the oneness of mental status
and proceeding towards emancipation.
