Once I was about to stamp on a snake lying close to the door to my terrace.
I did a high jump and the snake DID likewise.
We bolted in opposite directions.
I ran into the house and the snake to the water draining pipe.
So it can be a case of mutual frightening too.
But our vellai poonaik kutty is so sweet that
no ghost will get the idea of frightening it! :)

Shri Bala Tripura Sundari as a child is seated in her own house
at Shri Bala Peedam at Nemili, near Arakonam (Vellore District)
has been continuously showering Her Blessings on her devotees
fulfilling their desires for long time now.

One may know Temples of Shri Tripura Sundari at various places like
Tiruvanmiyur, Tri Soolam, Tirukazhukunram, Tiruvathiai, Sirkazhi, etc
in Tamilnadu as presiding diety.

While in Nemili village, the Goddess is in the form of a child of 9 years old girl
as affectionately called Shri Bala and dwelling in her own abode, which is
called as Sri Bala Peetam. status. The hidden fact behind this temple is
that Shri Bala appeared in the dream of Shri. Subramania Iyer 100 years ago
and commanded him to take her to his house. She said to him that she
will be come floating in the river. Shri Iyer, on her affectionate call, searched
for her in the river that is flowing in the backyard of his house for continuously
three days without being able to reach her. However, on the fourth day,
She Bala appeared in the river as an impressing splendour 3" bronze idol.
This idol that was subsequently consecrated in his house and placed 150 years
ago in the central hall of his house and that House is now known as Sri Bala Peetam.

An important aspect of this, is Mahaperiyaval of Sri Kanchi visited Nemili Bala Peetam
sometime during the year 1945. According to the temple history, Mahaperiyaval
visited the Temple in a palanquin, along with the army of horses, camel, elephants
and other religious manpower. Mahaperiyaval stayput there for over three full days
and has performed the Pooja to Goddess Shri Bala.

How could it be possible for anyone to forget the statement made by
revered Sri Tirumuruga Kripananda Variar. Looking at Bala in Nemili
with his focused eyes and mind in ecstasy he said, `I see in this
great peetam, the collection of all our Gods on earth'.

The devotees in the Nemili Town say that if only Shri Bala wishes
there is a possibility to visit the Temple to seek HER blessings. This
is submitted to those who are interested to have HER dharshan.

Dear VR ji,

That pic above is a person suffering from Lymphatic Filariasis which leads to Elephantiasis of the skin due to blockage of lymphatic drainage.
Patients really suffer with this condition at times even amputation of limb is advocated.

Filariasis is endemic in certain parts of India and is transmitted by mosquito bite.

From Wikipedia:
Filariasis (philariasis) is a parasitic disease (usually an infectious tropical disease) that is caused by thread-like nematodes(roundworms) belonging to the superfamily Filarioidea,[SUP][1][/SUP] also known as "filariae".[SUP][2][/SUP] These are transmitted from host to host by blood-feeding arthropods, mainly black flies and mosquitoes.
Eight known filarial nematodes use humans as their definitive hosts. These are divided into three groups according to the niche within the body they occupy: 'lymphatic filariasis', 'subcutaneous filariasis', and 'serous cavity filariasis'.

Dear Renu!
I get startled every time I see such unexpected posts.
I am posting surrealism pictures and in between I find these.
A person so resourceful can start his own threads and keep posting to his heart's content. :bump2:
AT LEASTI WILL KNOW HOW NOT TO GET STARTLED BY KEEPING OFF THOSE THREADS! :bolt:
