Yadum oorey, yavarum kelir
There is an old saying in Tamil: YADUM OOREY YAAVARUM KELIR PIRAPPOKKUM ELLAA UYIRKKUM
According to this on this universe wherever you are, irrespective of your birth place and/or ancestoral origin, that is your place means OORU When you are there treat all the people around you as your near and dear means YAAVARUM KELIR (Kelir means relatives). Because birth process is common to all and hence all are equal to each other and there is no upper caste or lower caste. The Caste discretion was created by us the human being and not by god Himself. Even in Gods family although Mahavishnu is treated as a Vaishnavite, he is also related to be brother of Parvathi, who is the wife of Lord Shiva, with whom the Shaivaism goes. In this way now those who separate themselves as Christian or Muslim et al., one thing we must remember that before the birth of Lord Jesus or Saint Prophet Mohammed (Milad Nabi Nayakam), the human beings were all together in other words the present generations ancestors were all together. Majority of the people in the Globe use and follow Christian Era calendar and even in India for computing our Horoscope we follow the 24 hours cycle which is based on Christian era calendar.
Therefore, I feel there is no harm or sin or fault in celebrating January 1, as our New Year celebration on the basis of Christian era and at the same time Tamilians must celebrate their Tamil Varusha Pirappu around in the middle of April every year, as well Keralites must celebrate their Vishu next day of Tamil New Year Day and similarly Andhra Pradesh people their Ugadi, Marathi people their Gudi Padawa, Punjabi people their Baisakhi, Bengal, Orissa, Bihar people their cultural new year on appropriate day that falls mostly during the month of April on different dates.
Therefore, while enjoying one thing don't confuse yourself with our customery things and spoil the enjoyment.
I thank you for your wishes on the occasion of New Year of Christian era and reciprocate the same to you and to all our team members.
Let us all live in harmony and follow the great saying LOKAKSHEMAM VAHAMYAHAM, LOKA SAMASTHA SUKHINOBHAVANTHU..........muthuaiyer

New year is being celebrated with lot of enthusiasm in almost all
countries, except probably Islamic nations.
Does New Year beginning January relate to any religious sentiment
more particularly with Christianity or Judaism?
Sometime back, Kanchi Sankaracharaya instructed the temple
authorities not to open the Temples during mid-night. Despite this,
New Year is being celebrated by Hindus also.
I wish all members a very Happy and Prosperous 2014.
