Dear Renuka,
Good analysis. But if someone is into spirituality, it does not mean he has to be involved only in religious activities. A a matter of fact beyond a level of spirituality you become at ease with religious and worldly activities. As Shri Vaagmi said recently one can enjoy the best of both the worlds. Surprisingly that requires a high level of spirituality because only then you can see the limits and you will not cross any line and be always in control of self
Those who are caught between spirituality and materialism, suffer because they can be neither truly spiritual nor truly materialistic. They mostly end up as hypocrites. And those who are materialistic, enjoy materialism but sadly oblivious of the spiritual .
Dear Sravna,
I feel for most people they get involved with spirituality for material gain but then again this sort of thinking is sanctioned by religion and there are various homas/yagnas for these purpose.
Then once they are hit with some form of adversity where money can not help them anymore only then they resort to being purely spiritual.
Yes..one can feel comfortable with both worldly activities and non worldly activities..for example if one feels flirtish and enjoys some worldly attention...one can always fall back on spirituality by feeling that they are merely enjoying love emotions which is the basis of human existence.
In fact the person who excels in striking a perfect balance of spiritualism and materialism is the Master Hypocrite!LOL
