Thank you Ravi. Is it ok ?

And thank you also Anandi. You are living in a city where I lived for
nearly two decades, and even now I visit my friends at least once a
year. I was one of the founders of Tamilian society, which was of
course short-lived. Around four hundred south indians attended the
opening day function . Then the interest faded away with the
important founder-members going out of Ahmedabad one by one !

Regards,

Sri N.R.Ranaganathan,

Nice to know that you lived in Ahmedabad for nearly two decades. Gujarat is a lovely place Sir. I had great time there. Enjoyed every day with those sweet people who know what's hospitality and respect is.

I was deputed for a short term of 3 Month assignment to Rajkot. The giant company for whom I had to do the project was - "AJANTA". We all must be knowing the famous Ajanta clocks from our child hood. This company expanded their manufacturing/business activities towards FMCG's too. I had to go there with a team to set up a travel portal exclusively for their company Marketing professionals. It was a great opportunity. My command of Hindi fetched me this opportunity :)

So, we got to visit the beautiful, peaceful and mesmerising township called "Morbi"- Morbi Industrial township, around 40 Kms away from Rajkot, where the corporate/head office and the plants of Ajanta company are located.

I took the chance with one of my team members to visit Ahmedabad, Bhaavnagar, Junagad, Porbandar, Amreli and Surat. It was a great experience that would ever be green in my memories. People are so soft and gentle and have good sense of behaviour.

I learned few Gujarati words, but now could remember only these two - Khem chho?, Chaalu Chhe/Maja maa che.

Lovely place, lovely people, lovely language... :)

My dear Ranganathan Sir,
Oh ! that was superb. Always Old is Gold. The lyrics, the music with minimum instruments; it touches the heart like anything. I am posting two songs. I hope you will like it. When we hear these two songs… we will just swing like kids.. just fantastic.
YouTube - ‪Children's Hindi Song - Bachche Man Ke Sachche - Do Kaliyaan [1968]‬‏.. From do kaliyan

YouTube - ‪Masoom (1960): Nani teri morni ko mor le gaye‬‏.. From Masoom (old)
Thank you. With respects- Anandi

Hello Ranganathan Sir, The songs are good. Here are two best devotional songs sung by Smt. Susheela. All time great. During navaratri, we girls start one song from one house, after one stanza, we break it and continue the song in the next house. Same way one Ashtalaxmi song, “varavendum, varavendum Ashtalaxmi, Karunai, tara vendum, tara vendum Adi Laxmi” this song also,we sung in chorus.. continue the song for the remaining homes. That was a great period.. enjoying navaratri with my childhood friends in gramam. Respects.. Anandi

Very good one Dear Renuka.. As I have written about a song "vara vendum, vara vendum Ashtalaxmi" but I am not getting the first lines. it is a superb song.. If I get I will post it. you will like it..
Anandi

Dear Dr.Anandi,

Pleasing to hear the navarathri songs and your personal experience. Devi
worship is an important one in West Bengal , Kerala and Gujarat. You are
living there rightly. I recall my pilgrimage to Paavaghat Kali, Ambaji, Himmatnagar
bade ambaji temple , Dhakore and other places.

Shri N.R.Ranganathan,

I am here, I am here right now. I was bit bussy with some songs in other threads (under general discussions forum) and still enjoyed them with out audible music. I had a chance to composed some of my own short lyrics and enjoyed within myself from those debating posts.

I am back right now here.. :). Will be keep moving between each other threads and share stuff with you all.

Both the songs are very sweet. I loved both of them. Thank you to have shared this..:). The touch of romance or any other feelings, emotions of human were very clearly, meaningfully and in a simple understable way with audio clarity of both the lyrics and music, were all fantastically produced to enchant us, during those days compositions.

For me, I can never consider todays music as far better than the olden days. Olden days movie songs has its own quality and charm as the ones in present days.

The second song I liked the most. And Sir, you know? I found the music of this second song, some what similar to another inspiration song. A song to inspire us to be happy, to laugh and make others laugh .

Here is the link of that song

Dear Renukaji,

This chapter is a prayer to Devi. It is an important sthuthi.
Chanting this daily is good.

Yes sir, but you know I often wondered why this line in that stuthi was left out even though its in chapter 5 of Devimahatmyam.

Ya Devi sarva bhutesu cetanetyabhidhiyate,
namatasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namah.

I guess it didnt rhyme with all the other lines so it was dropped??

Dear Ravi bhai,
as Ranganathan sir rightly asked, where were you? Oh yes! Laxmi ashtakam… many renowned singers had sung it in different tunes. Thank you so much for posting, Ravi bhai. I like devotional songs as well as slokams. Have you heard SPB sir’s Shiva stuti… Really superb.

Dear Anadi,

Wonderful!! Wonderful!!, Mesmerizing!!!! And enchanting!!!..Shiva is my favorite God and I often remember him as "Boodha Natha" (to give me protection from evil thoughts, evil deeds, evil people etc.)

Linga Ashtakam I have heard many a times and I get dessolved in its beauty.

The second one - Bilvashtakam - Umamaheshwara Stothram, I never have heard. Very mesmerizing and soothing. Much needed for any one in pain, distress, confused...., to listen and relax.

Thanks for sharing both Ashtakam and Stothram with me...

I am very much fond of Kala Bhairavar (Shiva) Ashtakam too... ‪kala bhairava astakam‬‏ - YouTube
