Welcome to Tamil Brahmins Forum. Glad to know that you are in Muscat. I was in Sultanate of Oman for eight years from 1982 to 1990 in Salalah and Muscat. During the period I was in Muscat from 1984 to 1990 heading the Accounts Department of a Super Market Chain under British Management.Sultanate is a wonderful place and I had visited many places of historical importance around the Sultanate. I should say I had a good innings there. But most of my friends have returned to India or retired now. I myself is an octogenarian settled down in Bangalore.

Dear Brahmanyan, I have been reading your write-ups and find that your views & comments are positive & objective. This outlook alone would be helpful to be useful for the real progress of Tamil Brahmins. I am 78 years old. I retd from Indian Ordnance Factories Service in 1991, and settled in Madras for last 15 years. I wish to interact with you & if you visit Madras we can meet. Secondly, Mr Murali who is in U.S is deeply interested to take positive role in doing something useful.He need to know the data of T. N Brahmins in Tamil Nadu. Can you suggest any authentic source to obtain the data ?

It is my view that living in the past has no meaning. Over the years due to economic and Social pressures Tamil Brahmin Community have changed to be a dynamic society. Which I wish will continue in future also. Our progress lies in adopting to the social changes readily.

Regarding Mr. Murali's quest for getting information on Tamil Brahmins, I am afraid, to my knowledge, we have no source which may furnish authentic data required. Unfortunately most of the statistics that we get may either be exagerated or imaginative. How ever if he wants information on a particular area, we can try.
