Hi friends,

I am a Telugu who has had excellent friends among Tamil Brahmin community. I respect them for their traditionalism and intellect, and deeply empathise with them. Ironically, Telugus seem to think that in Tamilnadu things are very good for Brahmins. It does not appear so from the discussion of the threads on this forum.

In my last year visit to Chennai, I did notice the sad situation of brahmins in Adayar ! I agree with Radhika that things for brahmins are not the same like it used to be 20 years ago. All I heard loud speakers from masjid prayer starting from 4 AM on ward at various interval. What more Couple of hours electricity will be off daily except for christmas and islamic festivals! Even republic day electricity will be off for couple of hours. Most of the brahmins are trying to leave to better place if they can help it.
Let us hope for the best :) I hardly heard loud speakers from any Hindu temple. I think the government should take action that the loud speakers should not be used on daily basis in these places and in odd hours too.
