I am happy to be a Member of the Group.

My name is Nemmara Chidambaraier Krishnamurthy. I am a Hindu Brahmin (Iyer) and my family hails from Nemmara in Palakkad District, Kerala State. I had my School education in Nemmara and College education (six years after I passed my S.S.L.C Exam in 1949) while in service in Mumbai. I am a B.A. B.Com from Mumbai University. I joined the Imperial Bank of India in the year 1952 and continued my service in the Bank (later known State Bank of India) till 1994 when I retired. Presently my wife and I are in New Jersey, USA with our two sons and their families, both of whom live in NJ but in two different parts of the State, not far from each other. I have joined your Group on a reference given by my nephew (brother's son) in Dubai. I am a Member of similar other Groups, though. I am interested generally to keep myself abreast of the Group's activities and to know about other members in the Group, more particularly those who hail from my home town and base City Mumbai. Thanks and best wishes to all on this happy day of Deepawali. N.C. KRISHNAMURTHY.

welcome dattatri.

you have mentioned an interesting aspect of our culture ie 'i live in north india and was initiall avoiding my tamil brahmin roots'

i have opened a new thread with this topic, because i can relate to this in a somewhat oblique way.

i have quoted you as a starting point, which i hope you don't mind, for without your intro, that thread would not have germinated.

thank you..
