Though learning Vedam from a learned gura is the best option,we may try using CDs and book ( Thaithriya manthra kosam with swaram by Anna,published by Sri Ramakrishna Mutt) in case we are not able to access a guru.

Now I want an answer: To do pithrukariyam which is the best place.(Except kasi)Anyone can reply about sithalapathi;ivar madam; thiruvenkaddu details please

in doing the same at IVAR MADAM, which is in THIRUVILAWAMALLA., near to palakkad.
there is a SAMOHA MADAM, which is totally controlled by brahmin society, they will
make all arangement including for your staty.

i am a new member, jothiprakash.v, from coimbatore near maruthamalai. We are taking abacus class at home for the past 8 years for children. I am also doing pooja in a siddi buddi vinayakar temple near by. Going for "japams & homams" etc. As a prohit. I will start my work from new year 2011.

Hello, I am Gopal, K presently residing in Kuwait. I was working in India for more than 30 years in pharmaceutical field before moving to Kuwait. I have been working in a private company here dealing with Medical Equipments ever since moving into Kuwait. I had missed to learn about brahmana culture and practices fully though my family was practicing one and my parents were strict brahmins. I was indifferent when I was young to brahmanism (If I may call it) but my roots becon me now. I want to learn about it now and practice to my fullest ability at least from now on. Hence, when I found this site by accident though, I joined it immediately.

My parents were both from Kumbakonam but I was born in present day Jarkhand and brought up in Delhi. I had lived and travelled through out India as a part of my profession. I am married and have two children. We are vadakalai, Ahobhilamadam Iyengars.

I am sure I would find a lot of friends in this site who would guide me and help me become a good brahmin.

I am Patrick Naicker a retired Chemical and Petroleum Engineer, living in Durban,South Africa. I am the third generation of the original 1860 Indentured laborers that were brought by the British to work on the sugar fields. My paternal grandparents came from Salem and my maternal grandparents were from Coimbatore.
At 76 I a keep my self busy with some humanitarian and cultural work. I studied partly in South Africa and graduated at the University of Manchester. I am a founder member and the custodian of the Ammen Shakthi Temple in my little village/town of Lotus Park. I have am very keen to know more about the Tamil Culture and religion
I follow the teaching of Saint Ramalinga (Vallar) and have a very deep attachment to the Thirukurral.
