I am Tamil Bhramin from Tippurajapuram Tanjore, but my father settled in Ooty Now I am in Chennai. When I was young I am not interested to learn the tradition and many valuable things in our religion, now I want to know many details. I was searching for slogams what my father used to tell.during that search, I got this site, hope I can get the slogams what I want.

Studied 7th Standard in MCTM High School, Purasawalkam, chennai (59-60).From 8th Standard to SSLC in Madras Seva Sadan High School, Tambaram (upto 1964). Studied PUC in A.M.Jain College,Meenambakkam, suburb of Chennai during 64-65. Studied graduation, B.Sc.Physics in D.G.Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam during 1965-68). I Joined in 1972 as Upper Division Clerk in Reactor Research Centre, Kalpakkam under BARC. The long introduction is to make people recognise me in case they are members of the forum. My favourite topics are philosophy and spirituality. I love reading books on any topic provided the same is appealing to me. I have my roots only in chennai. However, for the sake of my second son who is working as Sr.Analyst in Delloitte, Hyderabad, I am living in Hyderabad. One doubt - will you pl. elaborate what exactly you mean by "spirituality" as one of the two favourite topics of yours?

About my profile I would like to clarify that my religion is Hinduism, I was born in Iyengar(Vadagalai)family in Chennai. As such I can also be called Tamil Brahmin. As regards spirituality, the same is beyond any particular religion/faith. As a vaishnavite, I am not averse to have friendship with persons belonging to any other religion/faith. I do follow some of the rituals prescribed for brahmins. The wisdom to follow the religion was missing in my younger days say between 25-40 due to some misconceptions. Lateron, I became wise and started doing the same initially mechanically. After about 15 years, I got involved in the rituals. There are more rituals to be done and inclination is also there but the strong will power is missing. All the religions have a code of conduct like hinduism. All the religions lead the follower to attain moksha or Paramatma. This view of mine, I call it as spirituality. thanks. N.Rajagopalan, [email protected]
