Hello,
I am a bit nervous- I am actually a Telugu Brahmin, born in Mettur, Salem, and grew up in Thanjavur and Thiruchy. Most of my relatives are around Thiruvayaru, and I am told that I am a direct descendant of Thyagaraja. Naturally, I am into music. I attended St. Peter's High SChool, in Thanjavur and have spent innumerable hours at Saraswathi Mahal, going through various "Seppedu" and "Olaichuvadi".
My mom's ancestry is around VijayaNagarand claim to be gardeners and Saasthrulu to KIngs( ThotaDhongalu). My father's is Bhaskaravamsam.
I live in Syracuse, NY now, a physician faculty at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

Dear Sri "Heramba",

Welcome to "Tamil Brahmins" Forum. You need not feel nervous at all. This is a wonderful platform giving enough freedom to discuss on many important subjects.
I am sure by your posts you will enlighten us with your knowledge gained from Saraswathi Mahal library.
Cheers,
Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.
