Introduce yourself here

Namaskaram.

I noticed that there was a thread like this within the forum and thought it would be nice to formally introduce myself and my purveegam.

I am a native of Chennai who has moved out to pursue higher studies in the legal field. My family hails from the tanjore regions of tamil nadu. We are Vadadesathu Vadamas of Bharadwaja gotram, and I suppose we would come under the category of "Vaishnava vadamas", as mentioned by another member here.

I had always been connected to my roots and our family's history and legacy through my grandparents, however, as I have gotten older we have gotten a bit distant. I had initially found this website while I was trying to look up things to connect with them more, and I later joined as I was able to learn quite a lot from the other members.

Other than my academic inclinations, I am quite interested in the affairs of the State, theology, philosophy, and learning languages (at the moment, I am quite familiar with English, Tamil, Sanskrit and Hindi and have been learning Japanese and French in intervals for a while now) as well as classical Carnatic and western pop music.

I hope to have many more great conversations with people of this forum and desire to learn more from everyone.
Slightly ot for this thread but is there a way to find out what classification my ancestors belonged to, I hear classifications like vadadesathu vadama and desathu vadama, etc. It is a little difficult asking someone as none of the relatives on my fathers father's side are alive.

Maybe your mother's relatives or your mum herself would know? I see that you know that you are a Vadama, so probably ask the person who informed you about it.
