Kundalini awakening

Dear Folks,

What I write is based on what I have read on the subject and based on my own understanding and experiences.

I first got introduced to kundalini power when I was grappling with a major recurrence of my health problem last year. One day, I experienced a sudden spike in energy through my spine when the symptoms were intense, that instantly removed all the symptoms of the problem. I learnt to consciously use the power. But let me say the problem did not disappear at once. It was a coming and going of the problem but I learnt when the intensity of the problem rose I can consciously control it. Later I discovered that it was kundalini power and got interested in the topic. I understood that there are seven major chakras located at various places in the body and if activated can be a major source of spiritual energy. My problem did relent eventually and I think I have now been able to cure it completely. By touching by hands or through thoughts focused on the chakras I can now at will raise the energy in any chakra. I can also transmit that energy to another person and it has been a very effective way of setting right health problems.

I think the big picture is that when kundalini is dormant it is full of maya shakthi and the person does not see the reality. As one gets spiritual and moves on to the spiritual half, the kundalini begins to get rid of maya as it moves through the chakras. After it gets rid of all the maya, the shakthi unites with the ultimate consciousness at the highest chakra.

The first two chakras I believe are connected to the physical world. When they are open is when your body gets spiritual and you begin to be not affected by physical forces. Your powers are mainly reactive.

When the next two chakras are open is when you get real powers such as telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition etc. These are the natural powers of the mind which so far was occluded by maya.

When the last two chakras open you are truly spiritual and divine and approach omnipotence and omniscience.

The above has been my experience and my basic understanding of kundalini shakthi.

Views on the above are welcome.
.

This is what I would do to awaken kundalini:

I focus my spiritual energy on the dormant kundalini shakthi which will help remove some maya and awaken the power.

I read that this is a perfectly acceptable way of initiating kundalini power.

I believe that half of the population is naturally inclined towards spirituality though it is obscured because of effects of environment and my efforts are mainly towards them. I believe the natural inclination of science and technology people should not be disturbed as they can pave an alternate route for enlightenment.

Dear Sravna,

Ok now I am in serious mode..let me share my personal experience here.

Some time ago a couple of years back when I would be asleep at night and I had felt an unusual sensation starting from the base of my spine as if something was rising and it would fall back.

It would have a warm sensation at the spinal column..pretty nice a sensation if you ask me.

I ignored it but daily it would rise higher and higher..till I fine day it reached my neck after a few weeks and the heat sensation increased at the base of my skull.

Then I panicked..."what is going on?"

Next week it reached my head and I felt as if a light was lit in my head even though it was the dead of the night.

I got really scared..hold on...more to come.

Then I used to get woken up from sleep and have visions of various colored designs which matched the drawings of Chakras.

The surprising part is when I saw a green "chakra" which was the heart chakra I suddenly developed irregular heart beat which I have till now.

I saw every other color "Chakras" too ..some gave me a headache. The part I can not explain is there was one "Chakra" which was crystal colorless ...I then wondered how come this is possible if what I am seeing are really Chakras cos colors of Chakras match the 7 colors of light.

I read up more and found out a lesser known fact that one particular Chakra has a 2 colors at times and one of it being colorless crystal. Well I did NOT know this fact before!LOL

But I did not link it to Kundalini instead I saw a Neurologist to rule out a Brain Tumor cos Brain Tumor too can cause all these visual hallucinations and spinal sensations.

I did MRI Brain and Spine and both were normal.

Now...next episode...
after that...instead of feeling the heat sensation rise from base of spine to skull...it began to flow in the opposite direction.

From head it would slowly travel downwards and when it traveled downwards I could feel tingling sensation til my finger nails felt slight pain..then it reached the toes and it was a massive heat sensation.

Then I never got back anything again..no more sensations..no more Visual Hallucinations of Chakras etc.

Medically I ruled out everything..Normal.

I wonder what caused it.

Kundalini?

Dont want to know either cos I do not do any meditation and neither do I want to dabble with Kundalini.

I am still very much the same person after that episode.

I dont feel extra spiritual and neither do I feel like exploring cos our ultimate goal in life is to live..energy levels might spike from time to time for anyone..emotions...stress can mimic any situation. Staying grounded is always the best option.

I never understood why I experienced that...I rather it just be an experience that was pleasant if you ask me but no exploring cos once ego sets in we only get disaster.

Dear Renuka,

People differ in their attitude and approach to something. You did not feel like exploring your experiences and I do because I believe it tells me that there is something that I need to learn and understand. That has been my attitude. I see everything as a learning opportunity.

Folks,

When people talk of dangers in improper awakening of kundalini, I think it has more to do with the proper preparation of the body to suddenly taken in spiritual energy. It has happened to me. When spiritual energy suddenly increases a lot, there is a violent reaction in the body and I have felt that the body cannot handle a sudden surge in spiritual energy without proper preparation. I think that is what one has to take care of in kundalini awakening.

Fair enough....BUT when you are no MASTER yourself and just learning too...why do you make attempts to activate Kundalini for others?

What gives you this over confidence to explore others?

Don't you feel this is a dangerous mindset?

After all even Great Masters like Swami Vivekananda never advocated Kundalini awakening sans proper Guru.

Who is your Guru?

I do understand an Auto Activation might be possible for some people but even then any further exploration needs to be under the proper guidance of a Bonafide Guru and not some Online Guru.

Dear Renuka,

Fair enough. It is not that I started using kundalini power yesterday and claiming I am a guru. In fact I have had this experience in spirituality for a fairly long time. I see there is a logic to it and my intuitions have been proved to be right.

So it is not that I am doing it without knowing what I am into. Right now it is a fairly well chartered territory for me and I know I can trust my intuitions well.

Dear Sravna,

But whatever said and done its advisable not to attempt activating others.

Uncontrolled Kundalini activation can lead even to insanity and disease. Also not to forget distraction comes in many forms.

Vishwamitra had Menaka to distract him...may be Ms Kundalini could distract you from the "right" path cos its easy to be carried away with spiritual powers.

May be the "Apsara" need not be in flesh and blood..its could just a be distracting feminine force..and the Kundalini is after all a feminine force.

Dear Renuka,

Misinformation and mystery shrouds spirituality, In fact it is one of my objectives to demystify it because people do not know what is right and what is wrong about spirituality. I want to make it authentic and scientific based on my experiences and the reasoning for those experiences.

Dear Folks,

For a long time spirituality has borne the attack from the scientific community for being unscientific. Let us now turn the argument on its head. What science does is ignore the reality of inner world and offers its solutions. Since the external world is a projection of inner world according to spiritual knowledge, the solutions of science force changes in the external world when no changes in the inner reality is happening. So no doubt we see a lot of undesirable side effects in the solutions of science.

So can we now blame scientists for being non spiritual and causing harm?

Thanks, Mr. Srinivasan Vaidyaraman for sharing your experiences. I do agree that you are on a path of transformation. But I would like to share a word of caution as what you have shared seems highly inadequate to claim an awakening of Kundilini Powers. Many people will have these types of emotions in case they are able to maintain utmost concentration on Bhakti and think nothing else. If you are regular in chanting in various mantras like Sri Rudram etc. with perfect pronunciation you will get much higher level of vibration in your body and mind. I have experienced it too. Recently in a local Sai mandir, which remain calm as the area is little secluded I found myself in a peculiar situation. It was around 8.30 PM and the temple was about to be closed after evening arti. They usually play the "Om sai sai namaha" chanting by Anuradha Podwal on the background through the period the temple remain open except during the artis. At that time only a few people like the priest, a couple of temple officials and my self was there in the temple. I was sitting before the diety and doing my prayer with closed eyes. Suddenly I also felt my whole body heat up with some sort of energy which made me foerget everyting around there. Nothing was visible and I had a feeling I have been caught up in some sort of blackhole. This must have lasted for a few seconds then everything became normal. I am still unable to find any justified reason for this experience. Please do not misunderstand me that I am sharing this here just to discourage you or to post anything counter to your claims. I just want to you to observe more caution with subject in hand. I am sharing some on line materials here for your benifit which is in Hindi and hope you will be able to read and understand. Good luck..

Thanks Shri Athimber for sharing your thoughts and experience. I suspect your experience is a spiritual one too. The reason I am linking my experience with kundalini power is firstly I am able to feel the surge in energy whenever I place my hand on the location of the chakras and that energy has the ability to set right any negative health symptoms very fast. Secondly I was able to transfer power to others and they are able to autonomously use the kundalini energy the same way I do.

I am constantly adding to my knowledge and getting new intuitions on spiritual matters. But whatever I get as intuition has not been negated subsequently but only greater clarity and details were added. So I bank much on the reliability of the intuitions.

Dear Shri Athimber,

It is said that kundalini is generally awakened by following certain yogic techniques and has to be done assiduously. My understanding is that these yogic techniques give the necessary spiritual energy though in the right way so as to awaken the kundalini shakthi. So the same can be done by directly passing on spiritual energy and it is my belief that the right spiritual energy by which I mean potent enough energy, will correctly prepare the body and awaken the power in the right way.

Dear Sravna,

Agreed but for you to demystify spirituality you need to be under the guidance of a Guru.

There is no denial about that.

Have you read An Autobiography of a Yogi?

In there Paramahansa Yogananda though an elevated soul had an encounter with an evil entity and could not handle it and his Guru had to intervene to help him ward off the attack of the entity.

Even Greats of Greats have had Gurus.

But you choose to ignore all that and feel you are ready right away just becos you have had some personal experiences.

Many people have had some form of mystical experiences and might have even acquired some Siddhic ability but no one dare proceed to be an over nite sensation and expert in this field.

That is what is extremely illogical in you presentation that you right away feel its divine and start to try your powers on others.

Have you tried getting an MRI Brain done like I did when I had some experiences?

Also do a Hormone blood profile...you would be surprised to know how hormone levels that are out of sync might mimic a spiritual awakening.

Sometimes even a Bipolar disorder might seem like a spiritual awakening.

Its just that before you claim all these rule out medical possibilities.

Dear Sravna,

At least write a disclaimer for this thread saying that "This is your personal experience and in no way you are advocating others to follow suit sans guidance of a Guru"

I feel this much responsibility you need to have cos someone could believe what you write and try self awakening and land in serious trouble mentally and physically.

Dear Renuka,

I am not trying to do anything overnight. I have over at least the past 8 years have been seeing the progress and trying to reason it out. Only after I believed that I have a good handle over the big picture that I am putting forth my views in public. I am also not advocating anyone to try anything on their own and I what I say I can do has also been tried and reasoned over the years.

8 years or 10 years...get a Guru.

Time frame does not always translate to being an expert.

LOL!

Even Lord Krishna had a Guru! Sandipani Muni.
Even Lord Rama had Vishwamitra to teach Him.

OMG Sravna...You must be Brahman.

Dear Renuka,

Yes Renuka that is a fact. I am brahman and you are brahman. Traditions get modified in accordance with time and more so with yugas. So it is not surprising that one can be self taught which is most likely in a kali yuga.

Whoaa....I thought in Kali yuga is when one needs the most guidance and that is why Namasmaranam is mostly advocated.

Sravna...We humans are not always self taught...we cant teach ourselves to eat...we need to be fed as infants...we might not be able to handle ourselves when we are old...we might need help of others who are younger.

Likewise there are infantile and mature stages too in spiritual knowledge...that is why when we are in infancy stage of spiritual knowledge we need a Guru and and when are in mature stage of knowledge we need a Shishya to help us.

So you are neither having a Guru not a bunch of Shishyas.

Frankly speaking you are in your own world.

Dear Renuka,

I see your posts are getting less and less suitable for a debate. I welcome opposing views but not those just for the sake of opposing.
