Kundalini awakening

Renuka,

Then how do you explain that kundalini energy removing negative health symptoms immediately when no other energy known to science cannot? Is that not a harmonising effect?

Dear Sravna,

Its not always true...I never had an irregular heart...but after the so called episode I wrote about which some "experts" I asked said it was a related to Kundalini...well whatever it was...it left me with an irregular heart beat.

What I saw in my hallucination(note ...not that I am insane but when I say hallucination..I mean seeing something in full awake state which technically does not exist in physical form)...

Ok what I saw projected mid air was a beautiful emerald green lattice pattern which looked like the Heart Chakra.

Now that made my heart go irregular right away and I had to see a Cardiologist after that episode and diagnosed with a Non Fatal type of irregular heart rhythm.

Now what say you?

Why did that episode screw up my heart even though its a non fatal condition?

Reason? I dont know...but no harmonizing for me...in fact agonizing cos who wants an irregular heart beat?

So was it Kundalini if it could screw up a normal heart?

Dear Renuka,

I see only two possibilities. It was either not kundalini or you tried to activate kundalini in the wrong way.

Dear Renuka,

Sravna,

For the record I have never done any meditation of any form till date...no attempt of Kundalini activation at all.

I personally believe Kundalini activation is a mere distraction that some people who desire some powers would usually like to dabble with.

So no...I did not do any Kundalini activation at all.

I have a rather restless mind that can not be still...its like a monkey...I have to be reading something all the while.

Even while brushing my teeth I would be reading the toothpaste label fine prints.

That is why now I am learning Arabic to keep my mind busy with a total new language.

Ok..it can be it was not Kundalini...but hold on I am going to reveal another hallucination...

Its not only green that I saw...I saw different colored chakras on and off in the span of a few weeks when this happened in the past.

I saw colorless with a hint of Violet,Indigo,Blue,Green,Yellow,Orange and Red but not in sequence.

The 1st I saw was a colorless crystalline looking Chakra with a hint of violet.

Well that made me spaced out for a few days cos I was worried what I was seeing.

Such beautiful patterns suspended in mid air at night.

Indigo is the 3rd color I saw...gave me at tightness at the centre of my forehead for a few days.

I had to massage the centre of my forehead for a few days to give me relief.

Ok...Blue 4th color I saw..didnt give me much a problem..just some mild throat irritation.

Green the 2nd color I saw...screwed up my heart.

Then I saw Orange..but Orange I had no problems.

I saw Yellow...Yellow also no problems.

Now Red was what I saw last!

Now Red was the most interesting...cos I saw a flash of transient image of Baby Ganesh in the middle.

I thought "Ok thats it..I am going for MRI brain..could be a brain tumor!LOL"

But when I looked up online...only then I knew that it seems Ganesh is linked to the Muladhara chakra sometimes in a Bala Ganesh form.

Now..this fact I did NOT know.

So Sravna...the weird thing is each color I saw matched a Chakra that was related to the symptoms I was getting.

See..Green is heart chakra....it screwed up my heart.

Indigo..is Third eye chakra..it made my centre of forehead feel tight for a few days.

Blue..throat Chakra..it gave me a mild throat irritation.

Other colors seemed fine.

So what say you?

May be I was going insane or it was your spiritual powers messing up my Chakras!LOL

I am not sure Renuka. One wild guess I can make is, you seem to be inwardly fascinated with kundalini and all things spiritual but are adamant at the outer level and that conflict may explain your experiences.

Dear Sravna,

I am not an Atheist...but I am not fascinated by Kundalini at all..as I said I feel its a distraction.

I am attracted to the hint of having just no methodology of any kind...not holding on to any doctrine but simply loving to exists.

My mind set has changed over the years.

I do not hold on to any ideology much anymore ..I like to read philosophy anyway.

I am inclined to believe that there is so much our mind does not know but NOT willing to explore it.

When I had all these experiences my mother panicked and consulted a learned person in matters of Kundalini and you know what he said?

He sounded just like you!LOL

He said "internal and external conflict...conscious mind not willing to accept inward experiences"

Don't know..may be he could be right or may be even wrong or there was a simple neuronal short circuit in my brain that led to this!

But the fact remains I choose not to accept things that could prove a distraction...anyway all those visions are gone now.

The response to this post branches out into 3 different strands.

First the experience part:

Please read post #29 of Dr Renuka. The post is written quite a few years after the episode or "experience" with the recollection of what actually happened. I would not venture to call it as mere delusion, because I did not experience it or the experience was not observable by another person or scientifically measured.
Personal experiences are just personal. They do not prove anything. We do not know the condition of Dr. Renuka's mind before, during and after the "experience", and hence cannot infer anything. If somebody hallucinates, it is his own personal experience, and others can know only through his outward expressions. Hence we dont have much here to talk about.

Secondly, if it is very possible and very common to stimulate sexual high by means like masturbation etc. and cause sensation in the reproductive organ of the human beings, would it not be possible to channel the seminal fluid to other regions in the body?
This is a hypothesis. Can it be proved?

In almost all of my readings, the rise and fall of kundalini is accompanied by searing heat along the path it traverses and though I have not seen, I have heard people recounting the blackening of skin in specific areas like throat, on the back, at the base of the skull etc. So I would not put it as mere delusion of mind.
Well, these are neither consistent nor scientifically monitored and documented. Consistent I say 'cause, freak behaviour cannot be taken to be the norm.

In fact I feel that science or people with scientific bent of mind (more than required I would believe) are quite dismissive of personal experiences as delusion. Lack of self experience or observable means cannot or should not be the reason for treating a particular happening as "delusional".
Let me put it the other way. Until proved, we can agree to call them "delusional". Just like a hypothesis is proved, why cannot a delusion be transformed into reality?

Thirdly, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGE in the psyche or physiology of the "experiencer" (except the little bit blackening of skin which wears off after a bit of time). Neither his station in life improves, nor he is in a position to bring about improvements in the society, nor is there any solution to the problems he faced in life prior to the said "experience".
This I agree. Moreover, the miraculous powers that are said to be acquired by the individual in whom the serpent has sprung up is sorely missing.

I would be very much interested if the "trance" activates brain cells and solves or attempts to give solution to the problems faced at least by the narrator of kundalini experience.
Maybe, a study of neurons or neuro chemicals before awakening "the coiled serpent", during, and after could provide clues? People who claim to have awakened something at their base should subject themselves to scientific tests before sounding the horn to the world.

Some hilarious exchanges here... !!

Kundalini, I have read, is related to "Urdhva-retas". It is believed that by controlling sexual desires the energy of the semen could be directed upwards through the spine and this produces an equally orgasmic sensation as it courses through the sushumna nadi. Not sure how it works for ladies though.

I was much interested this kundalini in my younger days, and read some books... Sivananda's books was one of them... he mentions what power one gets on awakening the chakras... I do not recollect now - mahima, garima, lahima etc. I have not heard of one credible sanyasi or sadhu who claims to have activated kundalini do any of this. It is all in theory. None in practice.

Apart from deluding the mind into believing that some sort of charisma or divine energy is coursing through the body, kudalini is nothing but kundi-la-aani (pardon the expression).

I'd rather get it (the feeling, not the aani !) in some spiritual energy bottled up and available for sale.

Expression pardoned while rolling on the floor laughing ...
