Another idea, how about if I put up a proposal for your music recital [ kachcheri ] on the
occasion of the Vilakku Poojai and our TBF get-together.

Please see if the idea suits you, accompanying instrument vidhvans etc. Maybe Akka Garu
could join you and make it a "TB Sisters" recital and maybe some of your students can join too.

Attached herewith is a picture of the Kalai Arangam, that we had built in 2008, in the outer
Prakaaram - many girls have had their Arangetram here and many classical celebrities have
given recitals - both vocal and instrumental.

Should it get late, dropping you back home, shouldn't be a problem at all - there's enough private
transport available with the committee members.

Let me know if you are inclined - check with Akka Garu too. I will then table it in the committee meeting.

Dear A M Sir,

So nice of you to think of a music recital by us! But, you seem to complicate things! :D

I think people would prefer 'pEchchu kachchEri' to 'real kachchEri'! Anyway, let me think it over.

And let us see what my Sis replies to this idea! :typing:

Sure - a "Sorpuzhivu", then ? You two seem so well read, I am sure you
can handle topics like "Siva Puranam" / "Abirami Andhaadhi " / "Tiruvilayadal".

I remember way back in 1979, when we were just youngsters and the committee didn't have enough
funds, we hadn't planned for any classical music recital on the Vilakku Poojai day.

Bangalore Ramani Ammal came home on a visit [ I don't know how she is related to us ] and from there
to the Temple. When I told her that no kachcheri was planned because of budgetary constraints, she
just got on to the Nallu Kaal Mandapam and started singing - no mike, mind you.

She started with " Bamma Bamma Thaa..... ". Within the next half hour she had the whole crowd in her grip,
swaying and dancing - with her prompting and taunting " Sollungo Vel Vel ..... Sollungo Vel Vel ..... Sollungo Vel Vel...... "

From an unimpressive looking, madisaar Mami with her [funny kondai] hairdo, she became a star attraction.

1980 onward, the kachcheris became a permanent feature - many artistes who have performed here have gone on
to become National, International and Cine fame celebrities. One year it was TMS [ already a celebrity then ]
with his trademarks " Karpanai Endralum, Karchilai Endralum " to " Karpagavalliyin ........ "

Check with Akka Garu - maybe we can get some one to launch your CDs - with copyrights.

Your feedback, please - I fail to understand what way this is complicated !

Timing [approx] between 6.30pm and 9.00pm. Tiruvanmiyur is well connected by Bus and Train [MRTS]
therefore, the people coming shouldn't have a problem getting back home.

Yes Mam, I did do the initial posting on 5th March - but I was still there in Prayag then. Now we have
narrowed-down to five possible dates - that's getting closer, now.

No special invitees - all the lovely people in this austere Forum are welcome - it would be a help to
get an idea of [approx] number of people attending.
