Renukaji,

If knowledge is ignorance turned inside out, does ignorance sit on you lightly? or does it sit heavily like the knowledge is doing?

When we happen to wear by mistake the brief etc inside out, it hurts invariably. Does ignorance when worn inside out hurt too?

Questions from an ignoramus.

Dear Vaagmi ji,

When I used to "think" my mind was heavy..so heavy that my shoulders could not bear it....my mind was bewildered without a direction...my limbs were shaking and my mouth was parched..I then surrendered to Ignorance and Lo Behold my mind was no more heavy..in fact it was not even light..it was just weightless...the freedom I felt is hard to describe..its beyond the perception of the mind.

Now coming to the wearing of Briefs inside out....there problem only arises if one decides to ditch tradition and wear Briefs....if one had stuck on to the traditional Kaupeenam(Komanam) the question of getting hurt becos of wearing it inside out does not arise...a Kaupeenam protects from every angle inside and outside...like how a loving mother protects and shields her child from danger.

Dr Renu

That is very poetic description - I hope it is all not true ..
That would be considered a suffering of some kind ...

You are already embracing and living the principle of Ahimsa - That is the only direction we ever need in my view

Regards

My ignorant self still remembers that some of these words are not my own but taken from Chapter 1 Bhagavad Geeta..remember Arjuna saying..my limbs are shaking and my mouth is parched??
So dont worry there is no problem.. its not Parkinsonism!LOL

Mannangatti! Ignorance is beyond that..what the mind does not know the mind does not react to..when I am ignorant I dont know anger...I dont know hatred..I dont know anything...I am happy not knowing anything.

In Brahmin household they call such ignoramuses as "Parabrahmam Jagannaatham". Now I understand what great insight our ancestors had in these matters.

So it is again ancient wisdom that wins hands down. Jai ho Kaupeenam!! LORL.

I find ignorant people are happier in life than thocse who are knowledgeable. many children are happy since they are unaware of most things. many idiots are well provided for by their relatives since they are idiots. more one is ignorant ,the better it is . then life becomes a long happy journey. lol
One more addition, Sir!

Idiots without EGO are loved by most of the people!

BTW, does it not happen in most of the other threads too, Vaagmi Sir? (arachcha maavu!!)

RRji,

Arachchamaavu is just mavu however much it is arachchufied. But mannangatti can not just be arachchufied. Mannangatti is fascinating. When rain comes it gives out a fragrance which is very difficult to copy and synthesise. Mannangatti is just great- mannangatti. LOL.

Just for info.

In our village, mumps was known as 'maNNAngatti mAriyAththA'. :)

The family of the affected person goes to the local Mariamman temple and perform special pooja for a speedy recovery!

Dear RR ji,

I will tell you Chinese Traditional believe for Mumps..they feel when the parotid(salivary)glands swell in mumps the skin over it becomes thick like a Pig Skin and they then take Blue Powder(Neela Powder) and write the word Tiger over the mumps cos Tigers eats Pigs..so by doing that they believe that the mumps will subside.

So when I see a patient waiting for me with Blue letters on either side of face I know its mumps!

Mannangatti!!

When you are aware you are ignorant you have that knowledge ..
If you are truly ignorant then you have to ignorant of the fact that you are actually ignorant...
That means you have to give up the idea that you are ignorant..

If you understand all these you are not ignorant ,, if you say "Mannangatti, I may understand but I dont care " then the frustration represent partial ignorance .. if you say "Somehow I feel more ignorant and I feel really really good" - you are closer to Nirvana state of ignorance :-)

May you strive to be ignorantly ignorant :peace:

Wow..we are starting to think alike..when I was working out on my thread mill today a thought came to my ignorant mind..I thought "to still the mind and to be in the mode of ignorance does one have to give up knowledge?"

Then other thoughts came in rapid succession "But is knowledge acquired or is it within our very own core of the Atma and it unfolds from within..so can we actually give up knowledge?"

Then the next thought was "If you are ignorant you are not supposed to be thinking all this..you have to tune off..steady the mind"

Then I had a feeling that exploring ignorance can make you realize that the human mind is almost impossible to steady no matter what mode we decide to be..even in ignorance there are still thought waves that emanate and even in knowledge mode thoughts flood the mind..so how do we still the mind??

Ignorance can make you realize a lot about yourself..its an interesting experience.

Now here is a profound Vedantic teaching that applies to ignorance and knowledge- to which you may want to Mannangattify the response :-)

It is this:

Knowing is NOT Doing (any Karma) !
So it is not possible by will to be knowledgeable or become ignorant.

We are told not to commit to inaction but to perform action without attachment.

When we start to think that automatically triggers attachment and personal interest.

So "Ignorance Brain Dead Mode" is even better...life goes on but we do not think why its goes on!

No. A Raja has no place in this century. Moreover we are in the stellar company of great saamiyaars (vedantis) here. So I would prefer Mannangatti Swamikal or Mannangatti Ananda. LOL.

Renukaji,

How do you commit an inaction or commit to an inaction? LOL.

Action inaction and inaction in action

renukaji,

karmanyeva athikaraste maa paleshu kadhachana...we have only have powers to karma and not to create or attain fruits by ourselves because it depends on according to our praraptha karma. In action in action is our mind thinks and do work but we seems to others as if we are doing nothing...we do useless karmas through body but these are all waste karmas like watching tv, wasting debating, chit chatting , seeing facebook, writing in tb (tamil brahmins),etc.,:bump2:
How do you commit an inaction or commit to an inaction? Lol.
how to expand i don"t know

Renukaji,

How do you commit an inaction or commit to an inaction? LOL.

Easy..we do it most of the time without realizing it.

For example..a small piece of paper fell on the floor in my house kitchen a few days ago...by right I should have picked it up and thrown it into the bin...that was my initial thought but I decided "who cares...not now ..may be I will pick it up later or I might not" and the piece of paper is still on the floor..may be today I will pick it up!LOL

So that is inaction..failure to carry out what which should have been done.

Therefore I have committed to inaction.

No or Nope (your style). Dropping the paper was an action (inadvertent though). The deliberation in the mind as to pick up or not was also an action. The decision taken not to pick up was an action. The implementation of that decision not to pick up the paper was also action. The paper still lying there is the result of all such actions that were deliberately taken. LOL. The door is half shut or half open?

IF WE DO ACTION IN MIND IT IS INACTION TO OUTSIDERS BUT ACTION TO US...IF WE DO ACTION THROUGH BODY (NOT CINE HEROES OR DIRECTORS ACTION), IT IS ACTUALLY ACTION INACTION (THAT IS WE TRY TO MOVE OUR BODY BUT DUE TO OUR OWN BODY WEIGHT WE WILL NOT BE THAT WILL RESULT IN INACTION) RV

Performing action 'without attachment' cannot happen by just so called experience of free will. One can at best be in denial but attachment will happen.
So telling someone to 'perform action without attachment' is bad advice since it is not doable by asserting the so called 'free will'..
One cannot choose to be ignorant either

Nope...its possible...ask any sex addict and they will tell you how they can perform action without attachment.
