Some Foot-in the Mouth comments against Modi

Some only. Full list may run into pages:

Arvind Kejriwal: My political assessment after two days in Varanasi – Modi ji is losing varansi. He shud therefore concentrate on vadodra.

Deve Gowda: I will leave Karnataka if Modi becomes PM.

Kapil Sibal: Narendra Modi will never become PM.

KR Khan: It is my challenge that if Modi becomes PM of India, I shall do sex change and marry with Karan Johar.

Sanjay Jha: Please save this tweet. Congress will be the single largest party in 2014 and will lead a coalition comfortably above the majority.

Lalu Yadhav: Will drive Modi out or will change my name.

Mani sankar Iyer: Modi will never be PM, but can sell tea.

Nitish Kumar: I am stumbling block for Narendra Modi.

Beni Prasad Verma: All parties should unite to thwart Modi from becoming PM.

Narayanswamy: Congress will form government with third front support.

Rahul Gandhi: I will succeed, you wait and watch.

N Ram of Hindu: I have said in many tv channels that Modi will never become PM.

And he cleared all the files before he resigned as gujarat CM. Even during poll canvassing time, he returned to amdavad on most days and had meetings with his ministers/bureaucrats.

Modi has said this several times. He will not follow vindictive politics. He will not open closed files. He will allow the enforcement authorities to do their job. He will create an environment for corruption free bureaucracy.
It means the successors also will be groping in the dark and the voter should be happy with the new bottle. If vindictiveness is election politics, surely the voters have been cheated. The seat should be happy with a new sitter.

Swamy may be a loose cannon for some, but a powerful and devastating shooter. He has won all his cases, but his challenge to file defamation cases against him by the victims has so far no takers. They know that he has document support for his allegations.

In the same tweet, his view that this proves that varna is not birth based has been left out by his critics. Modi has neither responded not denied swamy's observation, but the media and congress lost the battle they waged with the propaganda that modi himself included his forward caste to the OBC list; this is another story, funny but totally unnecessar.

Twitter is a different world. He has nicknames for all the corrupt congress leaders. Anyway he can do his mission of judicial punishment to the culprits only when he is outside the government, because there may be conflict of interests. But he along with shourie, gurumurthy and a few more honest, clean and uncorrupt intellectuals will be part of panels that will expose some of the dark deeds of gandhi family and party cohorts.

Modi by not responding to the tweet has striked a right balance.

On any social issues involving historical and current discrimination there are always militants that make progress not possible by accusing others. There are militant blacks accusing anything white in color as 'evil', there are militant 'feminists' who are always out to look for a fight proclaiming their status as victim, and yes there are hypocritical and militant 'non-brahmins' who are allergic to any phrase that has the word Brahmin in it.

If one were to say that our scriptures do not teach about birth based Brahmins there will be militant ones wanting to celebrate their victimhood by coming and protesting vehemently.

The Varna system is based on attempting to reach a more perfect society by embracing the values of 'non-competitiveness', inter-generational learning & striving for excellence and local Dharma that is based on nature of work. In that sense the content of tweet by Swamy is accurate. But given the large number of militant people who are looking for controversy it was not a wise tweet in my view.

For the larger good of the country & its unity, PM Modi is better off distancing himself from such controversies at this time while perhaps leveraging the likes of Swamy to go after corrupt people downstream.

Is there any unbiased analysis of these appointments available that draw conclusions about Modi's style, leadership and emphasis?

What is vindictive politics as practiced by Sonia's congress is understood, no explanation is needed. Whether modi will do what he said in his rallies, one has to wait.
He is a different type of politician. Invitation to rajapaksha was opposed by Tamil politicians and invite to nawaz was opposed by shiv Sena. Modi did not yield to pressure and stood his ground.

First Tamils and for that matter the South cannot pressurize the present North. Modi can still benefit from the South because the traders and businessmen can and will serve that purpose. I do not know when the South is going to become wiser. As for Shiv Sena, it is not a force the North will be afraid of. Udhav Thakrey is not Bal Thakrey. Modi has pooh-poohed the Tamils and the SS. Inviting neighbours is political ethics and feigning statesmanship. Had Congress won the election Modi would have been invited for the swearing in.

Those days are gone when a regional or communal or psec parties can threaten and blackmail with their meager votes. 'Pressurerizing' is an old mind set. Sooner we evolve and understand the terms 'subke sath, sabka vikas', better for the country.
RSS and modi bashing has not given any benefit or dividend to the compulsive bashers. Only the bharateeya organization and modi have emerged unscathed with more strength.

Jayalalita will rise to the occasion and will work for the welfare of the nation and tamilnadu.

Jayalalitha was invited. She chose not to attend. Off and on shiv Sena is making anti modi/bjp statements. Had they been allies of sonia, enforcement agencies will be breathing down on their necks.

It seems even here people like to thrive in conflicts with or without facts. A concept of national unity can take roots when a few are able to let go their favorite prejudices at least temporarily.

The election is about PM Modi rather than individual party and half a billion people have put their aspirations in sending him to his role. What he will do in the hopes of many is that he will take on 'tough' issues. Long term success will require citizens to be significantly more responsible.

Those who thrive in sounding false alarmswill hopefully be sidelined

Modi Sarkar! Giving clear direction to his Ministers that they should not deploy any of their relatives in their offices! Well said! Corruption, Nepotism starts there!

Article 370 requires a rethink...This statute was supposed to be temporary..It is actually making people of Kashmir keep away from integrating with main stream India..

While the sworn affidavits are having discrepancies per se, the educational qualification of Smriti Irani is a trivial matter looking at the economic mess left by UPA!

Work already initiated - shipping ministry for dredging, water and transport, for check dams and year long water flow and environemt and health for cleaning. This will be a coordinated action by many ministries.

As widely expected NaMo will retain Varanasi Lok sabha seat! Look forward to a revitalized Kashi!

Vivekananda International Foundation: Think Tank in the news now.

Delhi think tank gives Modi his NSA and Principal Secretary.

Ajit Doval as National Security Advisor and Nripendra Misha as principal secretary to the prime minister were two important appointments Narendra Modi made after taking charge as the prime minister.

While both Doval and Mishra have exceptional credentials, they are also part of a leading think tank in New Delhi -- the Vivekananda International Foundation.

Located at New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, VIF comprises academicians, army, air force and intelligence personnel, and diplomats.

***
Explaining why the VIF was established, Professor Vaidyanathan said there was a lack of understanding of core issues that ranged from terrorism to black money. Most think tanks in the capital were either Left-oriented or leaned towards socialism.

“In 1970 Noorul Hassan, who was minister of state for education, had created several centres across the country filled with leftist ideologues. He was a sharp strategist and his intention was that for the next 20 years professors from across the country would encourage Left-leaning students,” said Vaidyanathan.

“This was discussed and debated among us several times and we concluded on forming an alternate forum of discourse. That is how VIF came into existence. VIF has given a good platform for non-leftists who can take part in lectures and talks. Delhi never had any such forum for non-leftists.
***
“We are a think tank with a difference. We have top people coming from across the world to share and discuss with us. The USP of VIF is national interest and it does not cater to any political line.”
