There is a school of thoughts which suggests that human body can take care of itself - without the interference from the outside.

My father never used to take long leave. :nono:

He used to say that if a doctor takes long leave, the patients will find out that they will eventually get alright even without the doctor and his medicines! :becky:

I think he wives who go on long vacation must also remember this. :bolt:

The husband may learn that it is much cheaper, easier and more peaceful to live by himself!

Who do Tourists go to the tops of tall buildings in the tourists spots and then put the
money, after long tired walks (like rock fort temples, hill temples, etc), into Telescopes
so that they can see things on the ground close-up

Everyone may not have the contentment perhaps as you may; for some
may not be satisfied unless their hunger of desire or curiosity is
fulfilled.

I have observed these things in life...

1. Contentment is a state of mind.

(Knowing one's own limits helps to develop this feeling.)

2. Desires breed desires and generally ruin the person's peace of mind.

(The more you have... the more you want. That is how desire operates)

3. Curiosity kills the cat.

(Mostly it is best to mind our own business)

Let there be light! said Liberty,
And like sunrise from the sea, :flame:
Athens arose!

The awful shadow of some unseen Power :fear:
Floats through unseen among us. :scared:

Most wretched men
Are cradled into poetry by wrong;
They learn in suffering what they teach in song.:whoo:

If a novel book written by a famous Author "about failures in women's life" does
not have a market, can we call it as a success.

Is it possible to be totally partial in the entire life!

WATER AND THE WORDS OF WISDOM.

The well grown ears of grains bend down while the worthless chaff stands upright! The heavier side of the scale moves down while the lighter side moves up.

The branch of the tree laden with many fruits bends down under their weight while the branch which has no fruits is rigid and straight.

The heavy gold chunk sinks to the bottom of water while the lighter wooden block floats on the surface of water.

The humble people are the honorable people. They can be compared to the low lying areas which can store water. The high lying areas cannot store the water.

The upadesam of a satguru is like the rain and falls equally on everyone-without exhibiting any partiality. If the person is humble and has the right mental make up, the upadesams are stored there and he benefits from them.

The proud and the conceited mind is like the high ground and lets the upedesam run away from it.

A person must be humble in his heart. But he should not be a coward either. Humility is different from cowardice!! One should be humble in disposition and yet bold in what he stands for.

A tiny grass withstands storms while the well grown strong trees get uprooted in the storm.

It is wise to develop a humble disposition so that our mind can collect , store, absorb and benefit from the words of wisdom of mahaans. It will help us to live a peaceful and useful life.

O, Wind,
If winter comes, :smow:
can spring be far behind? :bowl:

The flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow dies. :tsk:

Power dwells apart in its tranquility,
Remote, serene, and inaccessible.

If a man is an evolution from Monkeys and Apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes!!

Would a 'Fly' without wings be called a 'Walk'

Why is the word 'Abbreviation' so long

A man got operated in his head. The doctors closed the skull without replacing his brain.

The junior doctor pointed out the slip.

The senior doctor told him with a straight face,

" Don't worry! In the company where he works, no one will know the difference!"

If a man minus his brain is still a man,
why can't a fly minus its wings be still a fly??

Apes and monkeys do not become men overnight - by any kind of magic.

A selected few undergo many changes and mutations to become a man over a very very long period of time.

So it is not correct to sat that once some apes became men all the other apes should not exist.

As for abbreviation being a long word... may be the grammarians wanted others not to indulge too much in its usage. So they made it quite long and difficult to spell.

Mam, You have struck the right chord intelligently at once. Hats off. As regards, Doctor, I know what men
generally want, Men want to be really close at times to someone, ignoring his fault, who will leave him alone
ultimately. Sin is his fault, not the fault of environment or intelligence. That is why, it is said that "If you do
not educate me, my ignorance is your fault".

When grammar goes on a long vacation - :bolt:
deciding never ever to come back,
we are still left with two options...
Feel frustrated and helpless
or enjoy some harmless fun!
Which is the right attitude???
:becky: :decision:

I didn't mean 'You' in person in this post. I only wanted to highlight in general the
theme behind the concept, not repeat not about 'you' in person. I only mentioned
it as an example. Let us not strain our relations on this account.

Sorry! I am NOT aware of any relationship whatsoever!

We both are members of the same Forum. :bump2:

Besides that I do not know you from Adam or Zeus!

London , that great sea, whose ebb and flow
At once is deaf and loud, and on the shore
Vomits it wrecks and still howls for more. :puke:

We will have tea and toast; :tea:
Custards for supper, and an endless hosts
Of syllabub and jellies and mince-pies,
And other such lady-like luxuries.

Cruel he looks, but calm and strong,
Like one does, not suffers wrongs. :spy:

If there is friction between the governments of two neighboring states, why should a shop owned by a person belonging to one of the two states be smashed in the other state?

Does the shop keeper have the power to take decisions on behalf of his state government? :nono:

Is he responsible for the long standing friction and contention either directly or indirectly? :help:

When will man learn that damaging another person's property does NOT solve any problem but only adds to the already existing long list of problems??

dear friends! :grouphug:

It has been my life's dream and ambition to become a columnist!

Thank you all for making it reality. :pray2:

I will strive to think better and write crisper on real life problems.

Advice to the youngsters;

"Marry by all means.
If you get a good spouse, you will live happily.
If you don't, you will become a good philosopher."

Explains what makes a person a philosopher, perfectly!:high5:

Socrates had a bad tempered wife. She never realized his true greatness which the whole world could see.

One day Socrates was talking to a friend and his wife was making thunderous noise inside the house. :drum:

Then she brought some water in a pail and threw it on Socrates.

His friend was bewildered.

Socrates said nonchalantly, :ohwell:

"Friend don't you know that a shower always follows a thunder?" :rain:

No wonder he became one of the greatest philosophers of all times.

The good want power, but to weep barren tears.

The powerful goodness want : worse need for them.:nono:

The wise want love; and those who love want wisdom;

And all best things are thus confused to ill.
