dear Sir,
I am NOT angry and so my words have a meaning.
I was just pondering on the possibility of changing the
hero and villain of an age old story :)
Yes! I will REFUSE to take those words so that :hand:
they remain with the one who spoke them!
with warm regards, :pray2:

Dear Sister,

Angry words have no meaning if you don't take them and will remain with the person who said it.

guess who is the largest beneficiary of the episode in our forum.....?

The internet service providers, of course!!! Every one logs on or makes incognito appearance waiting for posts.......but no posts are forthcoming.......for a long time.....so waste of connectivity!!!.

A million dollar Q and a point to ponder....

Who are the
icon8.png
persons in this forum??

Note: the red smiley = angry!

Still it will be an impossible random event to happen just like that every time!

Assuming there are 100 people who post in the forum,

100x99x98x97x96 = the possibilities for one selection of the fixed five people.

Multiply this by itself to get the selection for two occurrences.

So for n occurrences the number should be multiplied by itself
n times!!!:faint:

yet it is claimed to be the most normal (freak) incident here!!!

Mathematics has limitations. Probability cannot hold candle to reality. If integer 4 were to claim that it is NOT a multiple of 2, will you believe it and start calculating probabilities like 4! x 3! x 1! etc. etc.

Probability :decision: Reality

I heard it as "palli" - lizard .......and not bommai .... may be quoting original proverb may attract moderator's ax!!

Ref post # 1325.

I think you should start concentrating on unique numbers!!!

(n.b.; having difficulties with reproducing quoted text of messages)

This is the original proverb!
The bommai is supported by the gopuram.
The bommai owes the reverence it gets to the gopuram.
To put it in a nutshell, the bommai own its very existence to the gopuram
But due to its ignorance and arrogance, it thinks that it is holding the gopurm together!
It is a popular proverb and suits the occasion perfectly

The way to Hell is easy;
night and day the gates of the black Dis stand open;
but to retrace the step and reach the breeze above ,
that is the task, and in it the labour. :fear:

Far far from me ,
Let all the profane ones be! :high5:

Good luck to your ambition lad,
that is the way to the stars. :first:

I am amazed how these quotes turn out to be so topical-

as if I sat and prepared them today!

I swear that these were prepared during the first week of the

month- the way I usually do every month!!!
:typing:

Our user names and our posts have a lot in common.

I am sure my name has become associated with

these two smilies  and !

Is it because both these show flying saucer like eyes

and my own name means one with big / wide / large eyes???

You may think of the other interesting names and posts found here!

you are right! :high5:
Mama / thatha is not around :becky:
and I like to get these things finished as quickly as possible
so that for the rest of the month I can just concentrate on my
daily production of Tamil poems and other lengthy articles! :typing:

Whats so significant about the first week? Mama/Thata is/is not around?

I don't understand your post

In # 1325, you were trying to work out the probability of one random occurrence as
20742 x 20741 x 20740 etc.(take this as n) The probability of repeat random occurrence of the same is n multiplied by n (pl take the result as m).

Since this possibility is near about zero statistically occurring in such a short time span, you have to go about by the certainty principle which guarantees that such an event would occur, whatever be the probability stacked against it.

For eg. there are ekAdasha rudras. Whatever be the probability of them meeting each other in the vast space, they are sure to meet Siva on Sivarathri day and thus meet each other. Thus for unique number of 11, Sivarathri meeting is a certainty rather than probability. Here the event pre-fixes the probability.

Thus if you fix the "unique number" of whatever/whoever you are calculating and the certainty of an event occurring, you can cut short all the lenghy multiplications.

I got it now! thank you. :)

For the Ekadasa Rudra it is once in 365 days at least.

What I was trying to stress on was this:

Such a rare occurrence as five selected persons out of 20K+ people

joining hands in doing the same things- without prior consent-

EVERY TIME is just incredibly fabulous!

Take care of your thoughts because they become words.

Take care of your words because they become actions.

Take care of your actions because they become habits.

Take care of your habits because they will form your character.

Take care of your character because they form your destiny,

and your Destiny will be your LIFE.

Sowbagyavathy Visalakshi Ramani & the rest of the forum, Greetings.

I humbly request you not to continue inflammatory posts, please.

As everyone knows by now, some of the members who get in to a lot of debates and discussions reacted in one particular debate. So much so that, the landscape, rules and regulations of this forum is going to change.

I think, we should wait for such changes.

This is not the time to keep piling up inflammatory posts. You may argue, your posts are innocent, they do not insult anyone etc. But unfortunately, two can play the same game. Then where is the end?

Although at times we were at logger heads with each other, in my opinion, we have mingled like a family; 'cyber family' if you, please. Hurling insults at each other is மல்லாந்து படுத்து எச்சில் துப்புவதர்க்குச் சமம்.

I appeal to you and all the other members not to further inflamme the already inflammed situation. Thank you.

Cheers!
