All religions have some negative points & opponents have been persecuted. Christians led the crusade & similarly Muslims led the counter charge. so by selectively picking on Brahminism by quoting one or 2 instances is intellectual dishonesty !!. And even in the 1 or 2 such cases, it was the various Kings (not a Brahmin) who ordered such persecutions !!!. Deep Hatred leads to irrational & such vile thoughts !!

Praveen:

I would like you to take a look at the cited text (for the entire post click the link) from the following post:

#1. I was responding to vgane and I get this:
... Deep Hatred leads to irrational & such vile thoughts !!

#2. Completely unprovoked I get this:
.... But what our hapless brahmins did in the past is the single biggest issue for which we have a professor waging a war with all of us in this forum – LOL !!!!

[....]

Anyways – some people live their lives on hatred & spew them on others in various forums & social media !!!

#3. Then this:
Hi Renuka - Absolutely agree !!. All of us have our likes, dislikes, but is important not to take it to this level of hatred-ness !!

I have no intention of responding to these, but as I have already stated, my patience is not limitless.

I realize you asked me to alert you of such behavior by PM, but I think this is something that needs to be sorted out in the open so that everyone will know the limits of what you permit in the forum and what you don't.

Thank you ....

Dear Praveen –

Kindly have alook at these posts as well which are highly insulting / derogatory. In short, he is saying sanatana dharma is not compatible with rational thought – insulting all the brahmins/Hindu’s in thisforum , Hinduism is highly intolerant & puts all other religions as second class – is there any evidence which shows this ?, calling Wahab Iyer innocently is below basic human dignity, and Hinduism is basically indoctrination which needs to be removed from the subconsicous – again insulting all the Hindus..

You are also aware this person has consistently posted many abusive posts against Brahminism/ Hinduism, etc.. in the past!!

I wouldrespect your decision either way as the moderator, but wanted to make sure, youhave both sides of the story.

Cheers,

One more thing, the "tolerance" touted by the Hindu faithful is infact not tolerance at all. Tolerance entails a certain level of respect, butthe true attitude of Hindus towards other religions is disdain. Go away, don'tcome near me, only Hindus are allowed in. The present day Hindutva ideology isabout putting all other religions in a second class status.

the very terminology Sanatana Dharma reveal its incompatibility with rationalthought -- one might try to redefine what is meant by Dharma, but that issimply reengineering.

DidWahab refer to your dad as <your dad's name> sahibu because he cared forpoor people, basic human dignity, etc.?

However, it is our duty to dig into our subconscious and excise all theindoctrination we have all suffered.

From a previous post:

I feel there must be more accountability when these things happen.

[.....]

I express contrary view. The site owner has said repeatedly this is permitted. I reject the assertion that just expressing contrary view is insulting to the brahmin (overwhelming) majority here, that is simply not so. I have every right to express my view as anyone else here. If you think my views are wrong then show me, don't just say I spew hate, it is insulting to Brahmins, or give me free advice. Show me I am wrong and I promise to correct myself and even offer an apology if required. But I can't promise I will just keep quiet endlessly, continued taunting takes a toll.

thanks ...

How can calling Sanatana Dharma as incompatible with rational thought be a contrarian view ? It is extremely derogatory !!. It means all the 1 Billion Hindus in this country are irrational people !!

How can one say it is one’s duty to dig into subconscious & excise all the indoctrination we have all suffered ? – So it means Hinduism is an indoctrination that needs to be removed from the subconscious. This is again extremely derogatory – many of us believers hold our religion in the highest pedestal!! How can anyone say it is indoctrination & not expect peopleto fight back ? How can insulting people like this be contrarian view ?

Can anyone say Christianity or Islam is incompatible with rational thought ? so if this is absolutely unacceptable, so is bashing Brahminism/Hinduism.

If some parts of Brahminism / Hinduism is wrong, or some people like the right wing radicals are wrong, by all means, I will support the criticism. This is the same thing we all say about the Jihadist radicals in Islam. But to say that the religion is incompatible with rational thought is extremely insulting to all the believers!!!

In-fact not only me, many people have reacted against such statements & we have all been more than tolerant by not reporting such posts in the first place !!.

I rest my case !
