word of the Lord and obeys. The law of the Lord
has been set down for man to read and obey. The
punishment for disobedience is severe.
ISLAM​

ஒருவரைப் பற்றி அவருக்கே தெரியாமல் இருக்குமா என்ன?
இது கேலிக்குரியதாக இல்லை?
எப்போதும் இருக்கும் "நான்" என்பதை எவ்வாறு
அறியாமல் இருக்க முடியும்.
அதிலிருந்த தப்பவே முடியாதே.
விசாரத்தால் எல்லாத் துயரங்களும் நீங்கிவிடும்.
பயன்களில் எல்லாம் உயர்ந்தது அதுவே.
ஆத்ம விசாரம் என்பதே பெருமை மிக்கது.

மற்ற எண்ணங்களுக்கு எல்லாம் மூலம் அந்த எண்ணமே!
 
During one of the discourses, the Great Chinmayanandaji used to say many things about "I". Just like
12 commandments, he used to give lot of explanations "I" which he is used to term it as Ego. I do not
remember everything. But I would like to submit a few which I remember.

The ego is our identity - individuality
The ego is a centre of consciousness - It is an eye from which one looks at the world
The ego is an executive - it makes decisions and implements the determined will
The ego is an organizer - it makes distinction between inner and outer world
The ego - sometimes it is a mediator
The ego - Elders and learned people used to say as False Centre
Say for example, if we take a child, it does not take birth with Ego. A child is born without any
knowledge of outside world and even consciousness of his own self.
It is quite natural because the eyes open outwards and starts looking for people around him/her
Hands touch others to know that somebody is around. Ears listen to others to say that some sound
is coming from around. Tongue tastes mothers milk, other milk etc and the nose smells outside
that it reaches to his/her nose. All these senses open outwards. That is why, we say child
is innocent and does not know anything unless it is taught.

# 64. நான் என்பது தொடரும்.
பிரத்தியக்ஷம், அனுமானம் அல்லது வேறு எதுவும்
நான் என்பதற்கே உண்டாகின்றது.
தூக்கத்தில் அனுபவம் இல்லை. இருப்பினும்
தூக்கத்தில் நாம் இருக்கிறோம்.
இப்போதும் (நனவிலும்) நாம் இருக்கிறோம்.
இதிலிருந்து என்ன தெரிகிறது?
நான் என்பது தொடருகிறது.
ஆனால் மற்றவை வந்து போகின்றன.
 
# 65. எண்ணத்தின் உதயம்.
நான் என்ற எண்ணம் உதயமாகும் இடத்தை உற்று நோக்கி
கவனிப்பதே நான் யார் என்பதன் பொருள்.
வெளியே நோக்காமல், உள்ளே நோக்கி,
'நான் என்ற எண்ணம் எங்கே உதயம் ஆகின்றது
என்று விசாரியுங்கள்.
 
We all generally get a doubt, where does the 'ego' come from and start
to develop in a person's life and how can it be killed, destroyed, perished.
There is a myth in the spiritual paths that the 'ego' has to be killed off
or repressed completely. If there were 'ego' one becomes ParaBrahman.
Otherwise one will be known as cloned-zombie. That is a lifeless person
who seems to act without any thinking or not at all aware of as to what is
happening around him/her. Cloned is nothing but a group of persons or
organisms produced asexually from one ancestor. It can also be defined
as computer designed to copy the functions of another just like a Robot.
We all live in a physical world. If 'wisdom' prevails in one, which is the
product of knowing one-self - personality ego will surely stay away from every
one. It is a long subject. It can be dragged..dragged..

Whatever faults one may have, one should confess them and seek forgiveness. Confession is a necessary part of repentance.
BUDDHISM​
Repent of pleasures and instruct others to do so.
If one lives only for the present, and does not
prepare for the future, one will repent later on.
JAINISM
 
All men are sinners. Therefore, they should
repent, confess their sins, and seek forgiveness of
God who is ready always to forgive those who are
truly repentant.
CHRISTIANITY
Whenever a person is in the wrong, he should hasten to confess his error and make amends,
CONFUCIANISM
 
To the extent that one has sinned, one should
confess and earnestly beg God's forgiveness and
mercy. If one does this, God will hasten to forgive
and wipe away one's sins.
HINDUISM​
The Lord is quick to forgive those who confess
their sins and turn to Him for forgiveness. One
who has sinned should seek the Lord with a
repentant heart. He will surely find mercy.
ISLAM
​
 
If one hides his sin and does not confess it, he
shall not prosper. God is willing and anxious to
forgive the man who confesses his guilt and truly repents.
JUDAISM​
Relinquish your sins and have recourse to good
actions, Repent if you have committed any sin.
SIKHISM
​
 
If one has made a confession of his sins and does
earnestly resolve never to sin again, he shall be
forgiven. The religion of the Wise One takes away
the sins of those who confess.
ZOROASTRIANISM​
Beseech thou the One true God that He may enable
everyone to repent and return unto Him. So
long as one's nature yieldth unto evil passions,
crime and transgression will prevail
BAHA'I

# 66. தொடக்கமும், முடிவும்.
காட்சி வந்தாலும் சரி, ஒலிகள் அல்லது வெற்றிடம் ,
மற்றும் எது இருந்தாலும் சரி கவலைப்பட வேண்டாம்.
இவை எல்லாம் உண்டாகும் போது நீ இருக்கிறாயா இல்லையா?
வெற்றிடம் (சூனியம்) உண்டாகும்போதும்
அதை அனுபவித்தேன் என்று சொல்ல
நீ இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
அந்த நீ யார் என்பதைத் தேடு.
அதுவே நான் என்பதன் தேடல்.
தொடக்கமும், முடிவும் அதுவே.
