He who interrupts the course of his spiritual exercises and prayer is like a man who allows a bird to escape from his hand; he can hardly catch it again.

Author: St. John of the Cross

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.

Jim Elliot, christian missionary, explaining his motivation to go to a headhunter tribe to share the Gospel. They killed him, but the tribe later heard the Gospel, received Christ, and was totally transformed.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

From The Paradoxical Commandments, by Dr. Kent M. Keith. Mother Teresa quoted this often. I wrote a commentary on this text.

Preach the Gospel, if necessary, use words!

Often attributed to St. Francis, but not traceable to him (which means he didn't say it). Still words to live by that definitely show Francis' spirit.

Your talent is Gods gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God
Leo Buscaglia

Mother Terasa quotes:
Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.

Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.

We have plenty of reasons to worry
We have plenty of reasons to get anxiety
We do think plenty to know the true joy in life
Victory or Success is what we gain
Happiness is wanting what we accomplish or gain.

Full many a gem of purest ray serene
The dark unfathom'd caves of ocean bear:
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness on the desert air

By ThomasGray (1716-71)

A great man of this Janma Bhoomi once said that Don't ask me
what I think of this world, perhaps I might not give the answer
that he/she may expect from me. Every new beginning comes
from some other beginning's end.

Late Pandit Nehru once mentioned "Solving a Problem leads to a Problem".

The same quote after minor corrections :)

Mami:
If the minor correction was meant toprovide an internet link to Thomas Gray, fine. I felt providing a link was not necessary since Gray is such a well-knownpoet, and acknowledging him (and not the website) as the source of the poem was ample credit - much like quoting a sloka and say that it is from the Gita, and not whose or which website’s version of the Gita.
If any one wants to know who is Thomas Gray, they could take the trouble of finding out, no spoon-feeding necessary.

The spacings were adjusted and a spelling mistake corrected.
Otherwise is the very same post you had posted. :)
You write very well but forget to use the space bar at times. That is what I corrected. Look for the green highlighted words below. Here after I won't correct anything. It is a PROMISE.
