"In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher."

Dalai Lama

"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness."

"All major religious traditions carry basically the same message, that is love, compassion and forgiveness ... the important thing is they should be part of our daily lives."

"The very purpose of religion is to control yourself, not to criticise others. Rather, we must criticise ourselves. How much am I doing about my anger? About my attachment, about my hatred, about my pride, my jealousy? These are the things which we must check in daily life."

"If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion."

When we go temple, we light lamps. Some people think that
by lighting a lamp from the one that somebody has already lit,
the sins get transferred to us. Whoever keeps the lamp is
for the Deity. Our good deeds will also not go to them. We
should do it with a pure mind that it is done for the good job.

Wow I really didnt know some people actually think this...that there is exchange of merit and demerits upon sharing lamps to light up other lamps.

We get our light/heat/fire from the Sun and its shared equally by all in the world..so just see a flame in the same way too and not worry about loss of merits and gain of demerits.

A Guru is a spontaneous person, unlike a Teacher, based on the knowledge gained
through Holy Scriptures. Doubts are at once clarified through answers without waiting
for a query from the disciple. Guru generally teaches spiritual science that encompasses
all subjects. While the teacher has a restricted working hours, Guru is always a Master
i.e.24X7. A Guru's teachings generally arise from the soul as against the teacher who
depends purely on his/her intellect.

Holy Scripture: Bhagavad-Gita
Who in all his work sees God, he in truth goes unto God....

He is the never-created Creator of all: he knows all, ... the creator of all time.... From him comes the transmigration of life and liberation: bondage in time and freedom Eternity.

The transmigration of life, takes place in one’s own mind. Let one therefore keep the mind pure, for what a man thinks that he becomes: this is a mystery of Eternity.

The Spirit, without moving, is swifter than the mind; the senses cannot reach him: He is ever beyond them. ...

... the Spirit though one, takes new forms in all things that live. He is within all, and is also outside.

The Spirit that is in all beings is immortal in them all: for the death of what cannot die, cease thou to sorrow.

At the moment of death the sum of all the experiences of life on earth comes to the surface of the mind-for in the mind are stored all the impressions of past deeds and the dying man then becomes absorbed in these experiences.

In some houses, we find elder's death stir up siblings conflict owing to
accumulation of wealth by the head of the family. At that time, wisdom
and love, etc do not prevail in their minds. Grief is only for sometime.
People are worried about the material wealth. We notice the human mind
functioning like a pendulum in a Wall clock and that ticks every second.
Even while a person sleeps, his/her brain move along rapidly to a turning
moment about the short ride for a pleasure or sorrow and pictures it just like a movie
picture as to what to do next to lead a happy life, which we just like that
call it as a dream. The dying man perhaps might have thought as to what his
children would do after his demise; may be he might have been in dilemma as
to how to satisfy the children while alive.

Quotable quotes

In those days, Gurukulam or Veda Patashala is supposed to be the ideal place
for Vedic learning students. A disciple or student in a Gurukulam is anticipated
to learn and grow in knowledge in a full-fledged way, so that when they come
out, they have adequate knowledge to do their activities independently in the
Hindu Scriptures. Owing to the atmosphere of the Gurukulam, a student grows
naturally without any hurdles.

The following are the main concepts they develop in the Gurukulam. The Guru
guides in the areas like -

Unlocking of their greater potential and invigilate

Moses Jewish Faith, 1330.B C. Holy Scripture: Old Testament
A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth. Ecclesiastes 7:1
