Sai lives on

Status
Not open for further replies.
Perhaps to draw our attention towards HIM only God sometimes gives us some
sort of sufferings. Suffering is unavoidable in every person's life at least
once. May be some do not focus their attention and belief in the prayer
of God. Unless and until one experiences the evil or bad effects, he/she
will not realize the existence of God to seek HIS blessings. If we have
complete faith and perfect confidence in God, one can feel the result of
good effects out of the bad. There can be no bad effects if one practices
the essence of spirituality whatever is learnt from his Guru. Active practice
helps to correct oneself and slowly makes a person mature enough to
understand the truth of God's supreme power.

Dear Renukaji
Ever so many thanks for your daily clipping on "Sai lives on" which I am gathering
for being placed in my repository. It cleanses the polluted and charged mind and
makes you understand the underlining essence of His teachings. We should not
only read it as a routine task but try and practise the values in our day to day life.

Today is Shri Rama Navami. One can chant 13 letters of - "Shriram Jairam Jaya Jaya Ram"
as many times as possible. We can recollect an incident that Lord Sri Ram has fought the
force of 14,000 soldiers of Shri Ravana without any assistance. Shri Desikan described him
as "Asahaya Soora - Anabaya Sahasa". There was one Rakshas "Agambanan" - means
who does not have even nervous fears. When Agambanan was asked to stand in front of
Lord Sri Rama along with Sri Ravana, he got feared and started shivering himself. If one
wants to acquire Deiva Bakthi i.e. devotion to God and Good Conduct, Lord Sri Ram is an
example to us. Lord Sri Rama is an example of Eka Pathni. Once Agambanan to escape
from Lord Sri Ram, dressed himself as a Woman and stood in front of Lord Sri Rama.
Lord Sri Rama did not look at him and he escaped from being killed. Sri Ravanan became
wild and asked Agambanan, how did you come here without being hurt. He narrated the
story of his magic of dressing like a lady, stating that Lord Sri Rama wouldn't look into the
face of ladies.

Every one notices that a child has trust and faith towards its Mother. For that baby,
Mother is like a God. One should not have negative thoughts and one should not feel
insecure before God. One should try to shed away the fears and worries towards the
belief that God is there to save/protect us at all times. One should control the mind
without loitering or wandering here and there. If one practices humility, complete
dedicated attention should be on God and by that process, one can certainly get the
Grace of God without fail.

of values and morals. HE is an example of noble, generous and affectionate to everyone.
Ratnakar, the decoit is an example, who changed himself into Valmikhi and wrote Sri Ramayana.
Who ever chants the name of Sri Rama will certainly experience happiness in life. When one
is sad with problems, to get comfort from GOD, if he chants Lord Rama's name, all the
stresses and worries will go away. Worshiping can be done in a number of ways according
to one's choice.

The universe is based on God but He has no need for the universe as base. The pot depends on the clay but the clay is not dependent on the pot. The clay is Brahman (Divinity) and the pot is Prakruti(Creation). Ignore the shape, the form and the name - the pot is just clay. It is truer to say that all is Brahman than to say, ‘Brahman is in everything’. It is nobler to visualize the Divine as the basis of all (Sarva-aadhaara), rather than to conceive It as Inner Reality of all beings. (Sarvabhutha- antharaatm). Without Divinity there can be no Creation; this is the truth.

God loves everyone the same way without any differentiation and whoever believes in HIM
with true faith and confidence, shall never suffer from problems or face extreme discomfort.
God loves us the same way that our mother loves us. We are his children. In fact we live
at HIS mercy. Nothing happens without his divine permission or sanction. God only wants
us to know the truth of his existence and pray HIM for our welfare.

It is a custom and tradition of Hindus to visit the Temple not only for worship
but few believe Temple visits could change their Karmas too. Primarily, a
harmonious atmosphere is essential to control the mind or reinforce the
wavering will-power one has in order to attain a calm environment from the
so oscillating mind to devote oneself towards God. Yet another reason is
some people seek tranquility and some people visit being a quiet place
for meditation. For some, Temple is spiritual centre. Thus, temple visit
is mandatory for every Hindu. In order to quench the thirst of poor people,
and people who suffer for want of food, these days Anna Danams are
done almost in every temple. People have to voluntarily contribute their
mite towards this great cause, which is a major step towards doing good deeds
to seek the blessings of God.

The Mahamaya is more powerful than the Lord. Once on query from Narada
to the Lord about the concept of Maya, the Lord asked the Narada to come with
HIM. While the Lord and the Narada were going, the Lord felt thirsty and asked
Narada to fetch some water for HIM. Narada soon went to a river nearby to
fetch the Water. On reaching the River, Narada saw a beautiful girl sitting on the
river bank and collecting water. When Narada saw that girl he got attracted and
spoke to her in some sweet words and both married and settled in the nearby
village. Soon children were born to him and Narada was living with his family.'
Narada slowly forgot the purpose for which he came to the River. After
sometime, a deadly infectious disease spread that village and everyone started moving
and Narada too asked his wife for her consent to move away from that village.
Immediately Narada, his wife and children moved out from the village and were
going to a safe place. On the way, they had to cross a river and owing to sudden
flood, Narada's wife and children were washed away. Narada was sitting on the
bank of the river and was weeping. The Lord appeared before Narada and asked
him the reason for his sadness. Narada explained the tale. Lord asked him where is
the water? Narada soon realised the entire situation and also understood the
concept of Maya.

Individual reconstruction is the most important need today. Multiply virtues, not buildings. Practise what you preach, that is the real pilgrimage. Cleanse your minds of envy and malice; this is the real bath in holy waters. Of what avail is the Name of the Lord on the tongue, if the heart within is impure? Injustice and discontent are spreading everywhere, due to this one single fault in humans – saying one thing and doing the opposite. You must set yourself right and correct your food, recreation and method of spending your leisure and your thoughts and habits. Remove the vices of lust and hatred, and put out the raging flames of anger and greed. Then, the innate tranquillity and happiness (shantham and soukhyam) within you, will manifest unhindered. You are the embodiment of peace; happiness is your very nature.

By the time we got to the Ashram, I was feeling fine. I couldn't believe that I'd ever been sick. I had my interview with Baba and He materialised some Vibhuti for me, opened my shirt and put it on my chest. I hadn't told Him any thing but the next thing He said was that my heart was not damaged. (I had the attack in September and I was in India in November) "Good heart, don't worry. Why fear when I am here?" Then He materialised a ring and said, "Wear this, I will always be with you." It had a likeness of Baba in it. That gave me a connection with Him and it started to change my life. It was so natural that I didn't even have time to be shocked about it. I had heard that He did this. In fact it was one of the things that kind of concerned me. Before going to the Ashram, I told Indra Devi that "Everything but the miracles, I can accept." Those miracles bothered me because I had read in Ramakrishna Paramahamsa that you have to be aware of the Siddhi powers; they will lead you astray. So, I was afraid that showing off this power was somehow egotistical and not on the highest level of expression. Therefore I had doubts as to His motives in doing it. But when I got closer and began to experience it, I realised that it was so natural to Him, and the reason behind it so sound, that I realised He was coming from a different space. He was not becoming something; He was that already. And so there was nothing that could spoil Him.
Baba is here to try to evolve people out of the insanity they have created for themselves, into the Light. Anybody that comes into His orbit that's willing to meet Him half way, He is going to do everything He can, to help, because that is His mission, that is why He is here. With a westerner it usually takes something to blow his mind to get out of the material world that he is trapped in, and out of his idea that everything can be figured out scientifically. So Baba creates something out of time, breaking what looks like scientific natural laws and creates a so called miracle. That is very hard for some one steeped in the intellectual world to handle. They have to confront it and question it. And the only answer is, God. And most of the time, people who are intellectual cannot get to God, because it doesn't work for them.
It is the simple-minded person, the person who has faith and love that can embrace God without having to understand God. But it is the intellectual who has to understand God before he can embrace Him. And the understanding of God is impossible! There are millions of people out there trying to figure it out and going bonkers, because they can't. And, an act of suspension of time is going to stop people and make them pause and think.
The thing that blew my mind was not the creation of the ring. It was what happened when Indra Devi asked Him if she could have some more of the healing ash, the Vibhuti, because she had given all of her first supply out to people. He said, "Yes" and, as I am watching, moves His hands in a circle and then holds both hands up as if to receive something. Then this urn about 4 inches high appears in mid air and plops into His hands. I see this and I say, "That is not sleight of hand, that is not up His sleeve, that is something else!" And then He takes the top off and, on a piece of paper, spills out all of the ash. Then He pours again and another full quantity of ash pours out so that in total He poured out about double the amount the urn could possibly hold. Next, He puts half of it back in the urn and distributes some of the remainder to people nearby. What's left He puts in a little handkerchief bag that He gives to Indra. He touch es it and says, "Now this will be an inexhaustible supply, so you won't run out." Well! She has had it for 10 years now and it is still flowing. And she has given it to thousands of people. So that was a miracle for me, much more so than the ring. Because I had been flirting with the concept of God and had studied religion; but I had had no experience of God. After that experience with Baba, whether or not God exists, is no longer a question in my mind.

Waves originate in the upper layers of the sea. They are caused by the wind, so the wind can be said to have that power. So too, the mind of the intelligent person is full of thoughts and opinions. When the proper atmosphere is present, these spring up and roll in from all directions. In the same manner, the Lord is manifest in the picture or image that one worships, but is this due to any special excellence of the picture or image? No. The picture or the image remain as they are. The fact is that on account of the intensity of the devotion of the devotee, the Lord cannot desist from manifesting Himself for them. For that reason, He assumes - in stone, wood, or paper - the form that the devotee contemplates and meditates upon and worships. In order to fulfill the yearning of the devotee, the Immanent Basic Being of the Universe, will come in any Form, in anything, at any place.

The inner prompting to conquer illusion (maya), by surrendering to the Lord, comes as a result of merits accumulated from many births. Those with demerits as their earnings will pursue the fleeting pleasure of the senses. Like birds and beasts, they revel in food and frolic as the purpose of life, and do not entertain any thoughts of God. They dislike the company of the virtuous and the good, and stray away from good acts and become outlaws in the realm of God. On the other hand, those who have earned merit strive to grow in virtue, cultivate uplifting thoughts, and contemplate and yearn for the Divine. Such seekers may be drawn to the Lord through suffering or want or the thirst for knowledge or keenness to acquire wisdom. But the fact that they turn towards the Lord for relief shows that they have grown into the higher path through many births.

to understand people, to have clear perception and also to determine the life pattern.
Self awareness also helps one to achieve a successful and peaceful life. Self awareness
mainly rests on the personality traits. It cannot be achieved or obtained through books.
One has to do one's duty without any attachment and should have an awakening of
self-awareness about the Good Deeds and also the about Karma one has to perform in
this life. Good thinking and Bakthi/Devotion will certainly culminate in self-awareness.

Determination and commitment are two very essential ingredients to achieve
a goal. What is important is not our home, our position or our possessions to
pray the God. One has to ponder for just a moment how one can seek the
blessings of God. Everyone needs certain goals, hope and purpose in life.
Further one has to ponder what the true value of life is. Only by sheer devotion
only, one can concentrate on the God and control the mind. Devotion along
with sincere Bhakthi is very essential to realise the actual spiritual path of life.
Knowledge & Wisdom and Love & Devotion are the two great factors one must
possess to understand the concept of eternity.

The very first thing you must do, to impress upon your mind the reality, is to recite the Name of God and dwell on His Glory in the mind. This will ensure the tongue will not stray into lesser topics and the mind will not drag you into inferior matters. Remember, the journey of everyone is towards the cemetery. Every day brings you nearer to your final moment. So do not delay the duty that you must carry out for your own lasting good. Revere man; that is the first step towards reverence for God, for man is prathyaksha(perceptible) while God is paroksha (imperceptible). Endeavour to see the Lord that resides in the heart of every living being. This will certainly lead you to eternity and save you from births and deaths.
