I am very meticulous when it comes to food.
I have a diary where I plan each day the meals I want to cook for next day.
I never "Live to Eat" but "Eat to Live".

Today's menu for me:

Breakfast: A glass of Soya Milk with 5 dates.

Lunch: Home made Sandwhich..3 slices of whole meal bread with filling of mushroom, tofu, raisins, lettuce diced carrots, green peas and corn seasoned with ginger and paprika.
Cooked using olive oil.

Tea time :Fruit salad :Combination of rock melon,1 orange,1 mango.

Dinner:1 bowl of oat meal with almond milk.

Such a high nourishment menu..!! better to have fasting every weekend... !!

It is actually low calories cos I use very little oil and vegetables are steamed before I cook it up with spices.

The almond milk is not the usual Badam Milk you get in India which is just almond flavored milk but the almond milk I take is actually from 100% almonds without any added cow's milk and no sugar added too.

There is also rice milk which can be used as a cows milk replacement for vegans.

I only eat rice may be once a week.

The other days..its mostly Chapati and some bread.

Some say it is a belief to have a partial or total abstinence (Upavaas) from food on
Ekadasi day or Somawar, etc. is a Bliss. If one has some health problem, Upavaas
is not at all advisable. Now a days, complete Upavaas is not advisable to ladies, as
majority of them go to work. However, such people can opt for a partial Upavaas
by avoiding food cooked from food.

Sowbagyavathy Renuka,

I noticed you said you cooked your lunch time vegetables in olive oil. Kindly consider using Rice Bran oil ( RBO) RBO takes up the temperature without breaking the chain of its HDL fats. Olive oil is good at room temperature; doesn't take up heating up. I am not able to handle Soy Milk. If at all, I use Oats milk. But mostly not even that. Almond milk is good. I don't know whether that is available in India. My DIL didn't know. Now she uses that.

Cheers!

The Almond Milk I buy is made in Australia!!

I guessed it. so is the 'Berri' juice you drink. Berri is a town in Mildura Valley in South Australia. Something interesting about Berri. Beri has a large population of Sikhs from India. Sikhs migrated in the early 70s from India were given a parcel of land. They put them together and started co-operative farming, mainly fruit orchards along with other farmers. Berri juice comes from there. There is one more juice available now with a brand name 'nudie'. They are good; but very expensive. 750 mls to 1L juices cost like $6.00. But they are just juice, not even from pulp. I never fail to buy them when they are on sale. My daughter is very fond of juices.

Cheers!

Dhorbi + karna = two + ears!

Dva Bhuja Karna - Thorpu (Hands) Karnam (ears)

Thorpukaranam is a devotional performance in front of Lord Ganesha, which is practiced
by everyone i.e. Hindus all over the world. It is mostly practiced in India even in North
Indian temples. Of late, it has been analysed through scientific methods that it helps
to enhance the power of brain, as a part of yoga exercise. Let us pray Lord Ganesha
to enhance the power of brain, so that one can deliver excellent things not only to self
but also to the Society as a whole.

There are many versions about the origin of Dhorbikkaranam.
Here is the version told my my guruji.
Ganapathy is a naughty God since he is a Brahmachari.
He hid Vishnu's discus in his mouth and would not give it back.
Vishnu tried many tricks and smooth talking but failed.
In despair, he caught hold of his ears with his opposite hands and did
'sit down and stand up' several times.
Ganapathy found the action so funny that he burst out laughing.
Vishnu promptly took hold of his discus.
Since then this act of worship is used to please Ganapathy. :hail:

Language.

The language of any age is never the language of poetry,
except among the French, whose verse,
where the thought or image does not support it
differs nothing from prose. :first:
Thomas Gray.

The English Bible, a book which, if everything else in our language should perish,
would alone suffice to show the whole extent of its beauty and power. :first:
Thomas Babington Macaulay.

Bye-passing happens not only in surgeries but also in human relationships.

"A" wants to meet B but B prefers to meet C or D or even E but NOT A!!!!

"T" wants to meet P / Q / R but P /Q/ R but do not want to meet "T" !!!

Human memory is very short lived. :loco:

Do you want some proof???

I think a fortnight is enough to :behindsofa:

make most of the people forget :peep:

most of the unimportant things!

Kutty fellow has an interesting way of communicating. :blah:

If he gets hurt he won't say "I got hurt"

but he will ask "Did you get hurt?"

His other wishes are passed on to us in the same questioning form!

"Do you want to go out?"

"Do you want to play in the basement?"

"Do you want to go to the park"

In short he repeats the question we put to him -

in order to get his message across.

Today's special dialogues are

"பாத்துப் போ தாத்தா!"
directed to my husband,

"ஓ பகவானே!
இந்தப் பாட்டியும் புஜ்ஜியும்!"
directed to me since I call him as "Bujjik kannaa!"

"இந்தக் குட்டியை வைச்சுண்டு
என்ன தான் பண்ணுவேனோ !"
directed at his desperate mother.

He troubles us first and then saves us
the trouble of complaining about HIMSELF!!!

[h=1]Why are women more Sensitive?[/h]
It is the wide spread belief that women are more emotional than men. They are also more emotionally expressive than men. They have more intense emotions, more fears, more sadness and more guilty feelings than men.

Are these due the differences in the physical and mental make up of the men and women?

The differences are due to many reasons.

Women appear to recall an emotion in greater detail than men. Women ruminate about an experience, thus creating and developing more emotional attachments to it. This helps them to recall the experience with greater accuracy.

For women, the experience of an emotion and the expression of the emotion, become one and the same. They have better vocabulary and better ways of expressing their feelings.

Women have more expressive faces and eyes than men. Women benefit more by a greater degree of emotionality.

Women have a higher necessity and motivation for intimacy. They have greater vigilance over their personal relationships. They try to set right their strained relationships. When the relationship becomes hopeless, the women are the first ones to get out of it, unscathed.

Women are supposed to be the weaker sex since they are physically weak. They need some one stronger to defend them and take care of them. They can achieve this, only by developing and maintaining healthy and satisfactory relationships.

This is made possible by their more sensitive disposition, to their own emotions as well those of the people around them.

Dear VR ji,

You know I have quite a good memory and can remember what I studied well or remember any verse I read from Geeta etc.

But you know otherwise I can have bad memory too.

Last month when I went for a medical talk some old doctor asked me which company my husband was working as an engineer.

And guess what!!

I forgot his company name!!LOL

I remembered the office address, road etc but just the name I could not remember the company name.

The old doctor was shocked..he said "OMG you can't even remember your husband's company name"

Then he actually called another doc and told him too "Hey guess what she can't even remember her husband's company name?"

Then I thought I better end this conversation before everyone makes fun of me and I laughingly told both of them.."Hey guys..my memory is not so bad at least I still remember my husband's name"

Then both of the doctors kept quiet and smiled.

I had no idea how come that day just an off hand question to me and I could not remember the name of the company my husband worked!!LOL

If one closely watches the tastes between men and women, similarities are :

Generally what women look for from a person

- Good Personality; Humourous, Adaptability, Good Understanding, Good Sensitivity,
Sound Brain and Sound Physique

While what men think about women - look for

- Personality and Good Look; Accompaniment, Sensitivity, Capable of Maintaining her at
all times.
