Renuka,

Parts of some of the slokas are used as abusive terms, mainly against brahmins in Tamil Nadu. Every language has abusive words. Every language has swear words. The words you combined to make " go to hell" is a swear word. Recently it kicked off a string of other swear words in this same forum. I sincerely think, even to recognise swear words one should be comfortable with self.

Cheers!

Can you believe this??? I CAN'T!!!

It reminds me of the saying "தாய்க்கும் ஒளித்த சூலோ ???" :preggers:

McKenzie Acierno of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio gave birth to a baby girl this past weekend. But the woman who was already a mother of two, didn't even know she was pregnant. On Sunday morning McKenzie had her husband Mike call 911 when she was suffering great pain in her stomach. Police Officer Sandy Davis arrived when McKenzie's water broke and helped the mom give birth to Victoria Elizabeth, a healthy six pound girl. McKenzie said she did not feel any movement of the baby and never experienced any typical signs of pregnancy.

Hey whats this yaar? Only two people so far accepted my Raksha Bandhan greeting.

How can a dream girl-diva be accepted a a mere sister???

No wonder all the GUYS in the forum kept quiet!!!

You have put out the fire of admiration and thrown a wet towel on them. :tsk:

As for me I already have one Balu Anna and one Anujan Sri K.R.S.

Wishing my sworn brothers and others a Happy Raakhee.

Raksha Bandhan, (the bond of protection) or Rakhi, is a festival primarily observed in India and Nepal.

It celebrates the relationship between brothers, cousins and sisters. It is also called
Rakhi Purnima in

most of India. It is also celebrated in some parts of Pakistan. The festival is observed by Hindus,

Sikhs and some Muslims.

The central ceremony involves the tying of a rakhi (sacred thread) by a sister on her brother's wrist.

This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong

vow to protect her.

Shravan pournami is the day of this festival. It grew in popularity after the widowed queen of Chittor

Rani Karnavathi sent a rakhi to the Mogul emperor Humayun seeking his help.

The mass is supposed to remain constant with change in volume or density or temperature

under ordinary circumstances. I was clean bowled when I read this on a packet of vanaspathi.

Weight at 30 C is 100 grams !!!!

My wheel chair at Denver was pushed by a boy from Bangla Desh

and he greeted me with a wide grin and a loud "Namashkaar!"

By the time we reached our luggage cliam area, he had related his entire life sketch to me.

He has been here for five years and he will become a citizen very soon.

I was clean bowled since the people with PhD, and M.S, and M.D behind their names

have to wait for a long long time to become U. S. Citizens.

My son and D.I.L confirmed that what the boy told me must be true since

the citizenship here is made MOST difficult to obtain ONLY to Indians and Chinese!!!

I remembered the discussion about the admission rules and scores for Indians and Chinese

for higher education in USA - which had taken place in the forum earlier.

Handicap to deter / discourage the talented people ???

WOW!!!

The LULL in the thread

and the DULL responses :tape:

make me predict that

the number of members :grouphug:

estimated earlier!!!

Right Brothers???

Sowbagyavathy Renuka, Greetings.

This message is not answered for more than 11 hours. I am going to present you with my honest answer. Through your messages, you projected a girl who would be the most desirable for every man. When I was young, I was suffering from inferiority complex. Had I come across a person like you in those years, I would have steered well clear of you and anyone like you. I was asked to try for a 'doctor girl' from CMC, Vellore; I didn't even try for a 'nurse girl' due to my inferiority complex. ( but my confidence level was boosted up by the girl whom I married later on). Just like any other self-respecting man, I liked the girl projected by you in this forum ( that doesn't mean you personally in flesh and bone though). For such a girl, I would not hesitate to put up a huge fight ( I did in my real life. I had to fight for that young girl in those years who is now Mrs.R.. She recokns I didn't fight hard enough.. that is a different story). So, i did not extend my arm.

But, seriously, why are you even giving choices? Why didn't you just come out say " Hey, all the guys, line up and raise your right arm! I am going to tie Rahkki for you guys; so, be prepared with suitable gifts for me! Tying starts now... come out with the presents.. " or something like that? That would have been expected of you. Still it is not too late. ( But even then, I am not raising my arm though! :) ).

Cheers!

Dear Raghy,

I always tell my husband that in reality all of us are the same..The same Atma that pervades each and every body

So you see that means everyone is related to everyone in this world.

Since the original source is Paramatma that means all Atmas are clones!!

Technically speaking we are marrying our own selves!!LOL

I will highlight about Raksha Bandan.

When I was learning for my impending exam this month I came across a Mantra for Raksha Bandhan.
But I am quite sure no one recites this while tying Rakhi.

Yena baddho Balee raajaa daanavendro mahaabalah |
tena twaam anubadhnaami rakshe maa chala maa chala ||

(I am tying a Rakshaa to you, similar to the one tied to Bali the powerful king of demons. Oh Rakshaa, be firm, do not waver.)

Now coming to History of Raksha Bandhan given well by Hindu Jagruthi Samaj

1.History of Raksha Bandhan

rakhi_aukshan.jpg
Deity Lakshmi tied a rakhi onto the wrist of the King Bali from hell thus making him Her brother and liberated Lord Narayan i.e. Vishnu. That day as per the Hindu lunar calendar was 'Shravan Paurnima'.
"By tying this wristband (raksha) onto your wrist I am binding you just like the powerful and generous King Bali was bound by it. O wristband, do not get displaced." The Bhavishya Puran states that Raksha Bandhan was basically meant for kings. A new custom of tying rakhis began from the historical ages. The sister is supposed to tie the rakhi to the brother's wrist. The feeling behind this is that the brother should become prosperous and he should protect the sister.

Raksha Bandhan | Rakhi

Signs and Symptoms of spending too much time in TB forum.

Just now I went to Guardian Pharmacy to pick up some stuff like shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush.

I was looking for a specific toothbrush and I saw this "Colgate Surround" toothbrush there.
It was under a label named Colgate TB.

I was wondering what there is Colgate for TBs now?

Only then I realized that TB was the abbreviation for Tooth Brush!!

I guess I spend too much time in forum!!LOL

Dr Renuka Madam.

You are absolutely correct. Raksha Bandan is a very old one dating back 326 BC.
In fact it started with Lord Indra. When Lord Indra was very much worried about
the attack by the Demons, his wife Indrani (also known as Sashikala) prayed to the
God and to relieve Lord Indra from the stress, prepared a Talisman and tied the
same around Lord Indra's right wrist. Her prayer became success and Lord Indra
was relieved from the Demons attack, and this event took place on the Shravan
Pourami day. This only later became to be known as Raksha Bandhan, instead of
husband-wife, brother-sister protection came into vogue. In those days, to prevent
war from the enemy, the Queen of the land, who is in stress, use to send the Rakhi
to the opponent King and prevail on them to thwart the war. This practice almost
became sucessful. Slowly from the Marwar District it spread to Rajasthan and later
to the whole of India.

Sowbagyavathy Renuka, Greetings.

I refer to your message in post #2871. Somehow that message is not like you at all. Usual Renuka would have said " My cyber image only like girls; no chance for any guys!'.... or something in those lines.

In this forum, Raghy is the projected energy of a real person; still only a cyber image. If this cyber image die, that doesn't mean real Raghy with flesh and bone is dead; on the other hand, when the real flesh and bone Raghy is dead, this cyber Raghy cease his continuation. Cyber Raghy doesn't have any soul. Cyber Raghy may resemble very close to real Raghy. But he is not real Raghy. Real Raghy may see you in person in real world, may not even recognise you or may not even bother to talk to you. I don't really like to mix real Raghy with cyber Raghy.

I am not quite convinced with all are same persons since everyone has come from Paramatma. But I am not going to start a debate for that.

I wish you all the very best.
