I am submitting herein the importance of Shri Balambigai Temple at Nemili, which one
should visit at least once in life time for the information of Devotees who are
interested in Shri Bala Tripurasundari.

Nemili Sri Bala Peetam, Vellore, Tamilnadu

Nemili Sri Bala is a small and young Goddess, the size of the little finger but
considered as powerful as the sun by her devotees. Sri Bala Peetam is not a temple,
but a small house where the Sri Bala idol decided to reside. Nemili is located 55kms from
Vellore, 24 kms from Kanchipuram, 16 kms from Arakonam, 30 kms from Sholingur,
20 kms from Kaveripakkam. About a hundred years ago, the Goddess appeared in
Shri Subramania Iyer's dream, asking him to come and fetch her from the river Kushasthalai.
For about three days, Shri Subramania Iyer searched the backyard of his home and the
river banks but in vain. The next day, he got hold of the three-inch bronze idol in the river,
which he consecrated and placed in the center of his house, which is now currently
the Bala Peetam. The prime deity of this temple is Raja Rajeswari, the family deity
of the pundits over there. The deity Bala Thiripura Sundari has supposed to come
on earth as a child goddess. The devotees are expected wish and pray, without
offering something in return as a bribe. It is believed that she is upset by the bargaining
attitude of devotees. The prayers to the Goddess should not be accompanied by a promise
to be fulfilled on attainment of the wish. Sri Kanchi Paramacharya performed pooja here
in 1945 along with his religious group for three full days. It was Thirumuruga Kripananda Variyar,
who told the following quotes "I see in this great peetam, the collection of all our Gods on earth"

Temple Practices:
Since the deity is a child, the prasadam is chocolates and biscuits. The devotees are given only
chocolates. The decoration or the alankaram of the deity also is a pretty simple plain
vanilla small silk paavaadai.

When I won the National Merit Scholarshi in 1966
there was no jubilation / celebration on that occasion.
When I won the coveted Lioness Queen Award in 1984,
I had to travel with the members of the other branches.
Neither my own club members nor my family accompanied me.
Even today there is NOT a single person to share my joy!
Does this kind of things happen to everyone or
Am a I FREAK???

I thank once again my dear father who cold recognize
the latent talent in me way back in 1960s.

I thank mt paternal grandfather who made me ingest the
awesome fearsome English grammar when I was still in high school.

I thank my husband who 'encourages' me indirectly
by discouraging me to the best of his abilities.

I thank Sri. B.K.M. who forcefully drew into this Forum
the existence of which I was unaware of till then.

I thank my younger sister, my veena teacher, my friend, philosopher and guide
Smt. Raji Ram for infusing the interest and confidence to try my hand in Tamil poetry,
as recently as November 2009.

I thank my sons and daughters in law for helping me
with the technical info needed for successful blogging.

May God bless everyone of us here!

Even before children learn to speak or understand any language
they can convey their needs in 'goo' and 'gaa'
if only we learn to decipher them correctly.

The three months old VaruN already makes different sounds
for different requirements...without crying!!!

For feeding, for relieving himself for using potty and for playing.
When he wants to be picked up he makes the loveliest cooing sound.

May be the elder child did these too. Or may be not.
However if she had made them, they had gone unnoticed!

Two dolphins in captivity were talking about their 'trainer'

The first dolphin told the second,

"He learns fast. I have been here hardly for a week.

Now every time I jump up, he has learned to toss me huge fish!"

AND we think we train the animals!!!

Human thought process is varied and weird. :bump2:
We start discussing about the navaratna and
then go on to talk about the maahaanik kizhangu!

Here the people leave any gadget which makes a mild humming sound
so that the baby sleeps undisturbed by the other sounds.

It is kind of selective listening. I have watched amazed my sons studying hard
with the classical western music playing mildly in the background.

They assured me that it keeps out the other disturbing noises.

Indian men need NOTHING more than a newspaper to block-out
the existence of the entire external world! :hand:

It might be dhaarana, dhyaanam or even samaadhi stage
in the language of astaanga yoga

OLD IS GOLD!
I never had problem in making my sons sleep or take a nap when they were very young babies.
The large cloth THOOLI hung by a strong double spring would do the trick.
In the west they use the vibrator chair instead of the Indian spring!
But the age-old cloth thooLi had other merits too.
It would embrace the child lightly making it feel safe and secure.
It would keep out the excess light and sound protecting the baby's nap/ sleep!
Our ancestors KNEW the cheaper and easier substitutes
to the costly and complicated Western gadgets! :clap2:

Here the houses are sprawled over a large area so that when the child wakes up the mother may not hear it until the child starts bringing down the roof by its loud crying. So a mike/ speaker system is used. The mike is left on in the bay's room and the speaker is kept in the room where the mother woks. Even the slightest sound made by the baby is so magnified that the mom can rush to the baby's side in a moment's notice.

God gives birth all types of people whether good or bad. Similarly there are good animals and bad animals.
Suppose, if one mentions about a dog, it loves the master without any condition and it is completely
loyal to the master besides it has the quality of forgiving and devoted. Likewise, we can find humans
too. All are not like that. Some train elephants and maintain them. Though they are trained to an
extent to be faithful to the master, still sometimes, it turns against the human and corners to death
when it is not in good mood. We notice human beings too like that.
