Dear all,

Thank you for good wishes.A diagnosis of Congestive Cardiac Failure(CCF) was made.
The name sounds scary but early stages its still Ok.
She is on diuretics now with complete bed rest.
Thank God she didn't require admission.
So she can rest in the comfort of her home and be monitored by me till her next follow up.

Thank you once again for good wishes.

Wish her a speedy recovery.
We pray for her early recovery and good health.

Sowbagyavathy V R, Greetings.

I don't think it is that easy. 'dhushtan' usually targets soft victims. Soft victims are the ones who try to avoid 'dhushtans'. Just think about it; 'dhustans' seldom bother other 'dhustans'.

Cheers!
dear raghy sir !
it is 100% correct when viewing in your view. but it is not always true.
even we avoid such dhustas, they derive pleasure by repeatedly teasing us .

Dear Tmt VR

Ref your post # 970

I am glad that you are rid of your problem. I was going to suggest Dr Sunder, who is just too good.
He is multi-talented, classical vocalist and a Kalai Maa Mani awardee.

He doesn't believe in drugging the patient. Persistent back problems for my wife and Chitti [ 83 yrs ]
were sorted-out easily by him - both posture related. No pain killers / spasm relievers / whatever.

It might have been difficult for you, since you are in Coimbatore. But I would gladly suggest / recommend
Dr Sunder to anyone with physio-related problems. As one walks in to his clinic itself, one gets a general
feeling of well being - with the recorded music of MD / Sembai / MS playing at the right volume. And while
he [ Dr Sunder ] is examining a patient / X-ray, he too would be humming a classical ragam.

Now, that your posture-related problem is sorted-out, it would be redundant for you, but for everyone
on this forum and access to Chennai - Dr SUNDER, that's where to go, that's whom to consult. Period.

Think it over

May be tricky to deal with rude or dhushtan. However, if one has to
handle rude or dhushtan, one should not take the dhustan with him
to help him. One may have to face rude or dhushtan one day or the
other but that does not mean one should burst at once assuming that
it is difficult to handle such people.

dear Mr. A.M,

Most of our problems are either posture related or psychology related.

I know the healing power of music. I am sure the people in Chennai will

benefit by your mention of Dr. Sundar (bhagavathar):)

I am not RID of my problem yet, but since I know the reason, I can remove

the cause and make sure that it does not aggravate in the future.

My ankles used to look like built-in "veerak kazhalgal" due to edema.

I was told to stretch out my legs straight when I sit, to prevent it.

So I designed the small stool which can fit within my knees and allow me to

work on its top.

See how one thing leads to another. Now I am on the look out for the old

time writing desk (kanakkup pillai desk) which will accommodate my legs

below it and let me work above it .

Looks like they are making it any more.

Who sits on the floor now anyway???

[h=1]The Fear Of Size![/h]
It is said that “Small is beautiful”. The modern concept is that “Slim is beautiful”. So many adolescent girls and young women, who dream of possessing pencil-thin figures, get into eating disorders.

The eating disorders are of two kinds, Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa. Anorexia means a lack of desire to eat. Girls and women suffering from this disorder keep away from food by starving. They use diet pills and do excessive exercises to keep the body weight low.

The well known symptoms are keeping the body weight far less than the ideal weight; intense fear of putting on weight; irregular menstrual cycles and other disorders related to eating.

Anorexia puts a strain on the heart and lowers the heart rate. It throws the electrolyte balance and hormonal balance out of gear. It causes muscle weakness, osteoporosis and immune dysfunction and may lead to premature death.

People who suffer from Bulimia Nervosa find it difficult to fast or keep away from food. They have a ‘ravenous hunger’ as meant by the name of the disorder. They indulge in ‘binge eating’ and purge or vomit the food eaten–in an effort to keep thin.

The onset of Bulimia Nervosa is in the age range of 13 to 20 years. It is difficult to detect the disorder, as the person looks healthy and appears to eat well. But the repeated cycles of binging and purging have devastating effects on the body.

The strong gastric acids erode the teeth enamel and lacerate the lining of the mouth and throat. The person may suffer from dehydration and potassium depletion. The salivary glands get swollen.

A well developed personality can cover up many defects in a person’s appearance. So the young girls need to strive to become wholesome and attractive personalities, rather than pencil-thin-girls with several severe health problems.

When we are unable to solve a problem, we are told to sleep over it.
Please read on to know how sleeping over it solves the problem!

Dreams and Discoveries.

More discoveries are done in dreams than the “world could dream of!” Do you know why? Dreams make use of our fullest knowledge and experience. They can make use of the facts, which we are not aware of knowing, when we are awake!

Dreaming allows us to tap the hidden knowledge when we seek a solution to a problem. People want “to sleep on a problem” before they make am important decision, since they are sure to find the answer in their dreams.

The story of the Benzene ring is very popular. Benzene is a clear, colorless, highly refractive and inflammable organic liquid. It is derived from petroleum and is used in the manufacture of a number of chemical products.

It is an organic compound with 6 carbon and 6 hydrogen atoms, in it molecule. Carbon can form four chemical bonds while hydrogen can form only one bond. The structure of benzene eluded the scientist for a very long time–since they could not satisfy all the chemical bonds, when they imagined the structure of benzene along a straight line.

German Chemist Friedrich August Kekule spent sleepless nights over this problem. One night he dreamt of a snake. It was going round and round for a while and suddenly grabbed its own tail in its mouth to form a ring.

The Solution dawned immediately on Kekule that structure of benzene was in the form of a ring and not along a straight line. A Hexagonal diagram with a carbon atom in each vertex (attached to a hydrogen atom) and alternate single and double bonds between the six carbon atoms satisfied all the rules correctly. Thus the puzzle of the benzene ring was solved in a dream.

Russian chemist Dimitri Mandeleev found his famous “Periodic Table of the Elements” in one of his dreams.

The American inventor Elias Howe had worked hard for years to perfect the design of his sewing machine. But success came only after he dreamt that he had been ordered on pain of death –to finish his machine!

Dreams can work wonders—if only we know how to utilize them.

My son told me this:

Yesterday he and another friend were walking outside of the class to go to the male restroom and on the way to it they decided to sing "Why this Kola Veri Di" song with the music effects too.

So one teacher from another class got angry as she felt her class got distracted by this singing and reprimanded both my son and his friend.

In his school there is an offence book with some lists of offences.
The teacher wrote his name and his friends name down under the offence of "singing outside of class"

So my son and his friend said sorry and went away.
Later my son went through the list of offences and realized that singing outside class was not a listed offence.

So when they were called up by the principal my son smilingly said sorry and at the same time said to the principle that its not a listed offence.

So principal had no choice but to pardon my son and his friends cos the offence is not listed cos per ministry of education rules a student can only be reprimanded for the listed offences.
There are some few hundred offences in that book.
I told my son.."next time don't sing too loud anywhere and sing at home and not in school unless you are on stage!"

He said "amma lucky I went through the list and realized that singing outside class was not a listed offence"

Good to know that Aiswarya Roy went all covered up properly to walk the red carpet. Still she sure looks like a lady heavyweight champion.

When he was in kindergarten his teacher used to say that whenever he was naughty and she asked him to stand at a corner of the class..he would just look at her and give her the sweetest smiles and look at her lovingly and finally she will give in and let him sit down.

She told me that when other kids get reprimanded and made to stand in class they would either cry, sulk or throw tantrum.

So one day I asked him..."dont you feel shy that you were made to stand in class becos you can still smile at a teacher non stop...if I were in your place I would feel ashamed and look down at the floor"

That time he was aged 6(here we start 1st standard at age 7)..
he told me "amma I am smiling at her cos I want to sit down...if I feel shy and look down I will have to stand longer and teacher always lets me sit down when I smile"
