The incident took place at around 11 p.m. when the family members, who had come from Old Delh, had an argument with a battery powered toy car owner. The family members alleged that there was no battery inside a toy car which was carrying their child and even then the toy car owner asked them for money.

Mathura violence: To face 3,000, 90 cops, a third with rifles

Only a third of the 90-odd Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel who marched towards Jawahar Bagh Thursday to conduct a “rehearsal” were armed with rifles. With the death toll in the Mathura violence rising to 27 on Saturday, The Indian Express spoke to personnel who were part of the operation on the lapses on part of the security personnel. A PAC platoon commander, who is among 20 personnel admitted in hospital, said the most important lapse on their part was the decision to march towards Jawahar Bagh with only one armed company.

[h=3]Apollo kidney racket: Delhi hospitals, nursing homes issued advisory[/h] New Delhi, June 4 (ANI): Following the busting of a kidney racket gang at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in the national capital, all hospitals and nursing homes in Delhi where organ transplantation surgeries are performed, have been issued with an advisory calling them to follow the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act. The Directorate General of Health Services, Delhi said in the advisory that the Act paved the way for promoting organ transplantation for therapeutic purposes in India "The basic premise behind the act and the rules has been to ensure that donation of organs (especially from a living donor) is purely for altruistic reasons, out of love and affection and it is free from any financial transaction or in lieu of its assurance in future in any manner between recipient and donor and there is no pressure or / coercion of any kind on the donor," the advisory said.

[h=3]Mumbai: 94 lakh litres of water used to douse Colaba fire[/h] IT TOOK more than 94 lakh litres of water from the BMC’s supply to completely extinguish the fire that broke out in the Metro House in Colaba on Thursday. This resulted in a shortage of water supply to four zones in A ward. Civic officials said that the water supply to the fire hydrants was interrupted for close to half an hour due to a disagreement between the fire brigade and the hydraulic engineering department. The delay in restarting the water supply aggravated the fire and led to the collapse of the wooden staircase, connecting the third and fourth floors of the building.

Gross NPAs of lenders have surged by a whopping Rs 2,41,000 crore in just six months — December and March quarters of fiscal 2015-16 — mostly due to the aggressive provisioning undertaken by PSU banks at the behest of the RBI. As a result, gross NPAs have gone up from Rs 349,113 crore in September 2015 when the RBI ordered the asset review to Rs 590,772 crore by March 2016, say figures compiled by Care Ratings.

This year 2,62,133 students are eligible for admissions but the number of seats available for admissions has dropped to 1,38,741 from last year’s 1,53,867. Dayanand Meshram, Joint Director, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), said the number of seats were reduced after All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) took action against all engineering colleges in the state that did not comply with the council’s guidelines.
