[h=3]'Sold like cows and goats': India's slave brides[/h] The first time Muklesha was sold, she was just 12 years old. Her buyer was a man in his 70s. Marriage and a baby quickly followed. But, three years later, the man died and Muklesha was again put up for sale. This time, her buyer was a horrific abuser. "He didn't feed me. He'd take me to the fields and stuff my mouth with mud and then beat me," she says. Muklesha is one of thousands of India's slave brides - girls and women sold into marriage, often destined for a lifetime of abuse and hardship, as this 101 East documentary reveals. A dangerous demand for brides In India, sex-selective abortions and female infanticide, due to a preference for male babies, has created one of the most severe gender

Yes dear that is what most of the normal people will do!

But 'besharam' people lack finer feelings and do not mind being booed
or hooted so long as they are in the epicenter of any storm that is brewing!

So they will clap for themselves loud enough to gather a crowd!

[h=3]India: Anger rising over bungled rupee exchange[/h] Banks are out of cash. ATMs are broken. Frustration has given way to anger. Five days ago India suddenly banned more than 80% of its rupee notes, launching a currency exchange program that has been dogged by logistics snafus, poor banking infrastructure and intense demand for the new money. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said last week the ban on old 500 and 1,000 rupee notes would strike a blow against corruption and tax evasion. The shock move has been hailed by supporters as a "masterstroke." Citizens rushed to swap the banned notes -- India's largest -- for new bills issued by the Reserve Bank of India. But demand has overwhelmed the country's banks, which stayed open over the weekend in an

[h=3]Brightest supermoon in almost 69 years[/h] The brightest moon in almost 69 years will be lighting up the sky this week in a treat for star watchers around the globe. The phenomenon known as the supermoon will reach its most luminescent in North America before dawn on Monday. It will reach its zenith in Asia and the South Pacific on Monday night. Across the international dateline in New Zealand, it will reach its brightest after midnight on Tuesday local time. The moon orbits the Earth in an oval shape. The moon will be at its brightest this week because it is coming closer to the Earth along its elliptical orbit than at any time since January 1948. The supermoon will also bring stronger than usual high tides, followed by plunging low tides the next morning. Viewers can expect to see a moon about 14 percent larger in diameter and about 30 percent brighter than when it’s at its furthest from the earth. It won’t be as big and bright again for another 18 years. NASA says its closest approach will occur at 6:21 a.m. EST (1121 GMT) Monday when the moon comes within 221,523 miles (356,508 kilometers). That’s from the center of the Earth to the center of the moon. Full moon will occur at 8:52 a.m. EST (1352 GMT). According to the astronomy website earthsky.org, the term supermoon entered usage five years ago when the closest full moon fell on March 19, 2011. The scientific term is perigee full moon. In 2034, the moon will come even closer, within 221,485 miles. That, too, will be a supermoon. (AP) See more news-related photo galleries and follow us on Yahoo News Photo Tumblr .

Passerby shoots, kills motorist assaulting deputy after traffic stop

A driver who attacked a Florida sheriff's deputy Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander who warned him to stop beating the officer, according to a report. The incident began at around 9:30 a.m. when the Lee County deputy tried to make a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Estero. Instead of complying, witnesses said the driver took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. The deputy chased the suspect onto an exit ramp, where a witness said the suspect got out of his car and assaulted his pursuer. Shanta Holditch told WZVN that the suspect pulled the deputy out of his car and "just kept beating him and beating him ... throwing him to the ground and punching him in all
