I told you long back about this "All pay and no work!" jobs!

[h=3]For 10 years, no work, only pay for 300 engineers in UP PWD[/h]Last month, both Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle and Cabinet minister Shivpal lambasted the engineers in various government departments saying “they will continue to do what they have been doing” and “no amount of disciplining would help” if they don’t have honesty in their hearts. Nothing could have been more ironical for about 300 junior engineers (JEs) who have not been assigned any work by the state government in the past over 10 years, but have been drawing salary. Such is the condition of these JEs — many of them claim that they are in a state of depression for constantly sitting idle in their offices along with the staff — that they have now approached the state government asking to be assigned some work or transfer to other departments where they can be utilised.

[h=3]Indian drought: Bonanza for Canadian growers of pulses[/h]By Rod Nickel and Rajendra Jadhav WINNIPEG, Manitoba/MUMBAI (Reuters) - Prices for Canadian pulses typically ease towards the end of the year but a recent dry spell in distant India, the world's top producer and consumer, is driving them up. Back-to-back drought years for the first time in three decades has eroded India's output of pulses and boosted imports. Global prices of chickpeas, yellow peas and lentils have as a result hit record highs in what is a windfall for farmers in Canada, Australia, Russia, Myanmar and the United States.
