Does that mean venting anger on the right journalist is not wrong???

Shehzad apologizes after venting anger on wrong journalist post Pak's WC loss to India

Dubai, Feb 21 (ANI): Pakistan cricket team opener Ahmed Shehzad apologised after he vent his anger on the wrong journalist following the team's World Cup opening loss to arch-rivals India. Many blog sites had reportedly been writing negatively about Pakistani players and while some coped up with the criticism they received following the defeat to India, others reacted strongly including opener Shehzad. Shehzad fumed at Rashid Shakoor, the BBC Urdu journalist, in Christchurch, accusing him of regularly tweeting against him, Gulf News reported. Recalling the incident, Shakoor claimed that he was shocked at the way Shehzad behaved with him, adding that the opener accused him of bias when he had done nothing, insisting that the cricketer went on arguing with him.

"Sleep well to stay slim"
So it is very true!!! :)

  • [h=3]Why a good night's sleep helps keep diabetes, obesity at bay[/h]Washington, Feb 20 (ANI): A new study has shed light on the links between sleep loss and diabetes indicating that lack of sleep can elevate levels of free fatty acids in the blood, accompanied by temporary pre-diabetic conditions in healthy young men. The study conducted at University of Chicago Medical Center suggested that something as simple as getting enough sleep could help counteract the current epidemics of diabetes and obesity. Esra Tasali, MD, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Chicago and senior author of the study, said that at the population level, multiple studies have reported connections between restricted sleep, weight gain, and type 2 diabetes and experimental laboratory studies, like theirs, helped them unravel the mechanisms that may be responsible.

  • Uber rape victim gets threat calls as case nears end

The 25-year-old woman who was allegedly raped by an Uber cab driver in December has been receiving threatening phone calls from unidentified persons, leaving the family feeling nervous and harassed, sources said. Station house officer Harish Dureja for Rohilla, where the rape case is registered, confirmed that the family had told them about the calls but had not given anything in writing. The financial analyst was allegedly raped early December 5 when she was returning to her east Delhi home from Vasant Kunj in a cab she had booked through Uber, the US-based online taxi-hailing service. Driver Shiv Kumar Yadav, who was found to have multiple cases of sexual assault against him, was arrested two days later from Mathura, his hometown.

Is the undeclared motto :(

"Kill the men and fill the women?" :preggers:

Politics of rape

For several years, incidents of sexualised violence by the military and paramilitary apparatus against Kashmiri women have been documented by NGOs and human rights groups (“Politics of rape in Kashmir,” Feb.19). In most of the cases reported from Kunan Poshpora, Saidapora, Bandipora, Wawoosa, Tangmarg, Badrapai, Kulgam, Shopian and Banihal, there has been no justice for any of the victims. The message is that the state looks the other way as far as sexual violence is concerned. If the “defender” becomes the “offender”, then there is no hope left for the unfortunate women of Kashmir.

[h=3]Andhra Pradesh's plan to drop Telangana from books upsets TRS[/h]Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Friday that he would leave it to the wisdom of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to keep or erase the mention of Telangana from AP textbooks. The TRS government, which had itself decided to erase the ‘Andhra influence’ from books, is upset over the AP government’s proposal of not including the Telangana movement in its books. Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and TRS MP K. Kavita criticised the AP government’s decision to localise school curriculum and eliminate topics on Telangana and the movement at a meeting where several corporators and others joined the TRS.

APPLE'S SECRET MISSION!!! :car:

[h=3]Apple wants to start producing cars as soon as 2020[/h]Apple, which has been working secretly on a car, is pushing its team to begin production of an electric vehicle as early as 2020, people with knowledge of the matter said. The timeframe - automakers typically spend five to seven years developing a car - underscores the project's aggressive goals and could set the stage for a battle for customers with Tesla Motors and General Motors, both of which are targeting a 2017 release of an electric vehicle that can go more than 200 miles on a single charge and cost less than $40,000. "That's the inflection point - the proving ground - that brings on the electric age," Steve LeVine, author of The Powerhouse, a book about the automotive battery industry, said on Bloomberg TV Thursday. "Now you have Apple coming in and this is critical mass.

Most pension are sufficient only to buy

[h=3]Pensions for Elderly Should Be Linked to Real-Value: Rajan[/h]PANAJI: RBI governor Raghuram Rajan Friday said that ideally, pensions for the elderly should not just be inflation-indexed but also indexed for real-value (which adjusts for the effect of inflation). Speaking during an ongoing lecture series here, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor also made a case for equity-linked pension while admitting that as India gets richer, pension in the current form does not help preserve the status of an individual like it used to a decade ago. "The government can create a minimal pension, which it has in a number of areas, especially for the very poorly off in society. Savings that ensure... that your pensions are not just inflation-indexed, but even real-value indexed," Rajan said.

I am NOT very fond of elephant grey color.
But apparently it is very fond of me!
The first ever sari presented by my husband was an elephant grey sari.
The latest sari I got to stitch a travel dress is also elephant grey!
Well! It will make me look more sober and more respectable I hope!
These things help a lot while traveling ...to get a seat/ assistance!!:thumb:

Everyone knows about Gravitational attraction.
Things always fall down.
Children fall down when they try to walk.
Adults fall down when they try walk and talk( in the mobile)
People always FALL in Love and never ever rise in Love.
Nothing thrown up keeps going up.
Eventually it falls down to the earth.
BUT Newton gave the force a name.
and the formula governing the force.
So it is accepted as the discovery of Newton even though
the ancient Indians had known about it thousands of years ago.
Everything needs a label / a name/ a title and the rules governing it!

Prestige Padmanabhans!
case #1
The elder girl was the bread winner since
the father's work was comparable to a Yoyo!
Either he was too busy and rich or
he was too free and low on fortune.
The girl has been married off in a scale far beyond their capacity.
Now the girl's earnings go to her husband.
The family may be in heavy debt (my guess).
NONE of the family members are seen anywhere after the lavish wedding! :peep:

Prestige Padmanabhans!

case #2

These people believe that honor can be purchased/
restored by the liberal flow of money.
When money flows like water, it goes
both to the field as well as to the weeds!
Most of it gets wasted on the weeds.
Tongues start wagging since the world is one such
"vaazhnthatlum esum thazhnthaalum esum vaiyagam!"
So all the pomp and show has got automatically trimmed.
Like BJP (post Delhi Polls) they have woken upto reality.
Their feet are now on the ground and heads are not in the clouds.
What all does a man do to catch hold of the elusive and imaginary prestige???

I used to feel that being a male or female does not really have a major difference in today's world.

But after I have been visiting a relative who is not well..I have started to feel that being a female is an advantage.

That is being a female I am able to openly express and display love to the person..I can see that males who visit him do not touch him or kiss him. In fact the males seem very mechanical even though they care.

So I guess being a female does have an advantage that I can care for someone and show it too and watch the person enjoy the love for the short time he has left.

My dear Renu,
You are correct.
Most men do not know how to express their feelings or show affection-
even to their own wive/son/ daughter. They mumble and look uneasy.
For women showing affection / love / care is the most natural thing.
Touch therapy has its magical qualities.
If you hold hands with the person you are talking to
they listen to you better, understand what you say better
and remember you and your words better.
Last Sunday when I went to the Global meet in GCT
I shook hands with all the pretty girl volunteers and wished them good luck.
They are in the final year and this good will gesture meant so much to them.
They followed me and made sure that I took a seat comfortably.
Small gestures and words have great impact-when they are sincere.

If one were to read what newton or Euclid wrote, he will not understand a bit. All these have been redrafted, retranslated and simplified to suit the time and language of the period. Since we lost the original gurukula learning and ignored our native subjects for several centuries, we have difficulty in both the language and the content. It cannot be denied that a huge volume of native manuscripts were shifted to Europe in the middle ages.

Dear Mr. Sarang,

"pazhayana kazhithalum puthiyana puguthalum indri amaiyaathavai!"

We do not know our own greatness and our own great treasures.

But people from the West learn our languages well enough
to find the hidden treasure and take it away with them.

We are only to happy to part with the treasure house of knowledge
since we do not know what it contains nor worry about losing them!

Later the same concept / theory appears as the work of a Westerner
with a cute name/ formula/ rules governing them and then (only then)
we accept the same things we had give away so generously! :(

Here is one more similar case where the glory of Indian has been shifted to a Westerner!

“The Father of Binary Numerals”?

Pingala was an ancient Sanskrit grammarian (450 or 200 B.C). His real identity is not known. Some historians claim that he was the younger brother of Panini (a great Sanskrit grammarian of Fourth century BC) or was Pathanjali, the author of famous Mahabhashya (Second century BC).

Pingala’s famous work is Chandah Sastra , The Art and Science of Prosody. Prosody was an important requirement in all Vedic Rituals, which demanded the purity of utterance. Chandah Sastra consists of eight chapters and the work is dated to the transition period between the Vedic meter and the meter for the Sanskrit epics.

This work presents the first known description of a Binary numeral system. Pingala used the short and long syllables instead of the 0 and 1 used in modern times. The length of a long syllable was twice that of a short syllable.

While describing the Prosody, Pingala developed highly advanced mathematical concepts. Binomial theorem, Binary numerals and Fibonacci numbers can all be derived from his work on prosody.

The discussion of the combinations of Chandahs correspond to the Binomial Theorem. The basis of Prosody has connections with music as well as mathematics. These three are interrelated inseparably.

After all, language is dealing with syllables and words formed out of the combination of syllables. Likewise Mathematics deals with numbers and combination of numbers while music deals with tones and scales!

All these three formed the fundamental parts of Vedic chanting and shared the same foundation found in Chandah Sastra.

The Indian mathematician Virahanka (6th century A.D) showed how the Fibonacci numbers arose in an analysis of the the meters with long and short syllables.

The famous Fibonacci numbers are named after Leonardo of Pisa but they have been described Pingala of ancient India. These numbers appear under the name Matra meru (Mountain of Cadence).

Will the credit of paving way to Binary numeral system, Binomial theorem and Fibonacci numbers be rightfully bestowed on Pingala?
