Think or sink!

Once that friend brought the emblems and ribbons for stitching the badges needed urgently.

I told him to get the help of a tailor- since I am always busy doing something or the other!

He told me that he came to me since the tailor refused to do it in such a short notice.

How do you like it?

The tailor who gets paid for the job he does also has the right to refuse to do a job.

But as a friend I had to oblige him and get those yards of ribbons stitched

into umpteen badges for free and that too at such a short notice!

I had a unusual dream today early morning.

In my dream I was asked to recite the Kubera Gayatri and some brown piece of paper was given to me with the Kubera Gayatri written on it in Sanskrit.

But I did not want to recite cos in my dream I was thinking "Kubera is a Yaksha..why do I need to recite a Gayatri for a Yaksha?"

Weird dream.

Dear Renu,

Does it really matter that Kuberais a yaksha - when he is the God of money!

Money Matters matter more than his race and vamsam! :)

IF ONLY you have recited that Gayatri you would have been flooded

with riches surely in your dream may be in real life also! :rain:

By the way do you remember or can you recollect that Gayatri? :ear:

Dear VR ji,

The gayatri I saw in my dream seemed a little different from what we find in books and online..but I cant recall everything.

Anyway when I woke up I felt my decision in the dream was right cos praying for money has never been my style and praying for material binds the human mind.

That is why I do not have a pic of Lakshmi in my house...I am not fond of her image.

Dear Renu,

We don't have to take Lakshmi Devi for granted.

In fact we can't take her for granted either!

Her name is Selvam( = that which goes away)

Chanchalaa ( = she who keeps wavering wondering "To be or not to be?" )

Lakshmi is always depicted standing - ready to leave at a a moment's notice!

Last but not least She can't coexist peacefully with Saraswati Devi!:)

Dear VR ji,

In the Geeta Lord Krishna does say that those who worship deities, elemental spirits etc go to their loka upon death.
So why land up in some loka and be bound?

Dear VR Ji,

When I was young I used to like Saraswati...I had a small sandalwood idol of Saraswati.

When I grew older I liked Kali..then when I became older I started liking only male Gods!LOL

Dear Renu,
It reflects on the evolution of a little girl... any little girl.
As a student she loves Sarawati Devi.
As a housewife she adores the powerful KALi.
As a mature person she likes the sober and dependable male Gods! :)

Dear VR ji,

You make everything sound so pure and innocent.

Let me explain my evolution of thought!LOL

When I was a little girl...my estrogens were not active yet...so a girl preferred a female God.

As I grew older the hormones started to kick in..so I started to exert my presence..hence liked Kali who is powerful yet feminine.

Then when hormonal functions were full blown...I ditched all female divinities and found the Male Gods handsome esp Lord Shiva.

So VR ji..its not all that innocent..its all hormones!LOL

Dear Renu,
I guess both of us are correct in our own ways of thinking.
As a medical doctor you are more familiar with the hormones and their impacts on human body.
As a psychologist I think how a human mind must have worked in order to act the way it is acting!
No problem since both of may be correct and are probably absolutely correct in our own ways! :thumb:

There is a character in a very popular Tamil serial.
He has a Christian name but always appears with
vibhoothi pattai and Rudraakshak kottai in a red string.
His forehead is smeared with blood red kumkum in addition to the vibhoothi.
Is it ignorance about the customs of other religions or is it sheer oversight?

A friendly police inspector from the neighborhood visited us yesterday.

He looked so friendly and cheerful that he did not match with my image of a stern S.I.P.

Well, he came here to scare all the super duper seniors living in the colony on their own,

and made us realize how unsafe and vulnerable we really are - even in the safety of our home!

He is right! When the criminals have worked out an efficient and effective modus operandi and

we are innocent, ignorant, slow in thinking and reacting and unable to fight back, we are in danger!

dear Renu,
I have reduced my bio data and introduction to one single sentence now.
Want to know what it is?
"I am just a septuagenarian striving for Self Realization"
How do you like it dear? :)

We knew a very poor brahmin family while we were kids.

The mama was just a news paper agent but was
half a Kuchela when it came to the size of his family.

That mami will send her daughter to our house to get something / anything from us.

She would ask for milk or curds or buttermilk or pickles or chutney or thogiyal
climbing down from the top until she receives something from us to go with her food.

WE used to admire her power of positive thinking - even at that young age!

I forgot to post the recaps for three consecutive days!
Well here is the next one on the list! :)

I heard a beautiful example for money being accumulated slowly and being lost wholly.

The example was this.

People trickle in to attend a meeting or concert over a long period of time.

But when the show is over they ALL leave at the same time.

I had a similar experience yesterday.

We get 2 points for a post, 2 points for a new thread just 1 point for 50 views!!!

But when the points are lost... one may lose anything up to a six digit number of points in one go!

No one knows how and why these things happen - including one who lost these many points!!! :dizzzy:

In wanted to spoil something.
So I decided on the smiley! :dizzy:
The loser will know the pain involved.
Whether it is just forum points or real hot cash
a six digit figure is certainly NOT negligible! :(
I guess I am the Living Example for the Murphy's Law!

A word of advice to those who have decided NOT to listen :horn:

to good advice and stay at home during the hot summer! :flame:

Make sure you carry a kudai, a vadi, wear paatha rakshai and carry a jala paathram with you!

Who can say when you might need one of these!

Dear Sis,

I think most of the members don't care for the points given in forum!

Once I wrote in a lighter vein, 'Even if ten paise is to be paid by members for each point earned,

there might be a thunderous silence here!! :bolt:
