சொல்லிக் கொண்டு கிளம்பும் வேளை;

Recap #23

Trump card!

:thumb:

:scared:

Dear VR ji,

Relationships can end but both might not be aware it ended becos they might be so caught up doing their duties in auto-pilot fashion.

Just like some people who died but refuse to move on into the light becos they do not realize they are dead.

I feel most Indian marriages fall into this category.

Dead but still believe they are alive!LOL

Dear VR ji,

I modified the recipe for Adai to make it more Diabetic friendly.

Instead of using white rice...I replaced it a small amount of long grained brown rice and added millet seeds and quinoa.

Both millet and quinoa are basically seeds and do not contain as much as carbs as white rice and the protein content is higher...so the glycemic index of the Adai would be much lower.

In fact Millet and Quinoa lend a better flavor to Adai.

Doctor,
This subject is discussed in detail by Swami Krishnananda of Divine Life Society in his book "The Development of Religious Consciousness". The book is available in internet.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for info...but I feel the Yad Bhavam Tad Bhavati is not entirely possible..reason is "are we really only single track minded?"

We are not. The mind is multidimensional and its not just one thought that traverses our mind...we hardly know our subconscious thoughts...so mostly if we feel we are Eka Gratha(One Mindedness)..most probably that is a state of denial or delusion.

I personally feel that the mind is meant to be the play ground of neuronal impulses...since Life is supposed to be a Game...we need to enjoy the expressions of the mind...be developing all so called Religious Consciousness we restrict our own selves from our natural instincts.

Dear Sir,
Namaste! :pray2:
Today morning when I was lucky enough to get a lift in the electric car in Chennai Central station,
we found people making any forward or even lateral progress impossible.
The driver of the vehicle commented," janaga yosikkave maatengaraanga!"
I told him, "avanga yisichchaa Indiavile irukka maattaanga!"
So are we - as a nation - live and refuse to think :loco:
or refuse to think and also refuse to let others live???:decision:

Dear Renu,
I am glad Adai is the one dish which receives all the grains with open arms and a warm hug!
I have heard of people adding whole wheat and a variety of whole lentils which add
color, flavor the precious roughage material to the food we eat - making it healthy and wholesome!

I wish someone will find a way to reduce the Gas Factor!
One of my cousins had the audacity to say the Gas Factor is not HIS problem
but that of the (unfortunate?) people who happen to be around him at that time!

This topic came up when he was describing the amount of chuNdal he eats everyday! :)
Well! People will be making the disappearing act very fast. :bolt:
Those who can't will pretend not seeing the giant gorilla in the room! :)

Yad Bhavam Tad Bhavati

Dear

I personally feel that the mind is meant to be the play ground of neuronal impulses...since Life is supposed to be a Game...we need to enjoy the expressions of the mind...be developing all so called Religious Consciousness we restrict our own selves from our natural instincts.

Doctor,

Well thought out analysis.
Mind is " collection of thoughts" says Ramana Maharshi. If there is no thought there is no mind.
Uncontrolled mind will play havoc. Sage Patanchali commences his Yoga Sutras with the words "Yogaschitta vrithi nirodhaha" - " yoga is stilling the natural turbulence of thoughts"
In spite of analysing the subject with the help of many writings, it is still a mystery to understand the "mind" for me.

Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

Dear Sir,
Namaste! :pray2:
These short sentences give room for a lively word play.

To be or not to be = To do or not to do
( since to be = to do and also to do = to be)

To be or to do is the general confusion we all have. :decision:

So the advice 'when in doubt don't do it!' will transform us
into people who EXIST but don't EXERT. :couch2:

The world is full of distractions and disturbances. So we need to develop
unified concentration to tread on the path of Spirituality and Religion! :laser:

Dear Mrs Visalakshi Ramani,
Namasthe,
Every one is in a hurry to catch some thing or other in these selfish times, where is time to "think" ? Some times when I watch the small ants moving fast in an orderly lines, I used to wonder where these insects learned discipline !
Warm Regards,

Dear Renu,
You are right. Life is a game for those who want to indulge and enjoy.
Life is a penance to those who who want to escape from the samsaara.
ONLY by restricting our natural instincts, we can develop religious conscience.

Dear Sir,

The mind is mysterious..the more we analyze it the less we know.

I wonder upon death how does the mind express itself?

Do thoughts actually need a neuronal network of a functioning brain to express itself or it can it function as an independent unit after death?

No idea!

Thoughts are waves...waves are meant to be pulsatile..brain waves on EEG itself has its pattern.

So a straight line pattern of a brain wave does not exist in the living.

So what is the control of the turbulent mind all about?

Is it setting it into "indifferent mode" or just witnessing the ups and downs of life from a different perspective as not to be influenced or affected by the multipolarity of life?

From my personal understanding I feel changes in the human body are cyclical/pulsatile/cicardian in nature.

Nature never intended us to be non responsive to any situation cos that would only spell extinction of species..there could be a possibility that we actually need not restrict our mind but learn to observe its functions and expressions.

The mind does not ever shut down or be still cos subconscious functions in the background.

Its learning to observe the patterns of the mind and interpreting it for the best outcome could be the way out instead of forcing ourselves to restrict every single thought.

For example...When I see a good looking man..I do not restrict my mind and tell myself "Dont look..dont think he is handsome..dont admire him...its wrong"...instead I tell myself "well there goes a handsome creature ..God surely did a good job designing him".

When we restrict our thoughts we create an imprint but when we let the thought traverse our mind..it simply exits without any residual effect.

Last but not least...easily said than done!LOL
