Think or sink!

I attended a TB wedding 2 weeks back..The Shastrigal said that no one should shake hand with bride or bridegroom till the complete marriage ceremony function is over..He said that when bridegroom holds bride's right hand the positive energy is transmitted..This has to be presered till sapthapadi and other rituals till Arathi..Otherwise it will get dissipated...Good suggestion...Everyone followed it..I think we should have some nice speech by the shastrigal who will explain the significance of marriage & duties of both husband & wife after marriage

Now a days in every wedding I attend the shaking hands with the
bride and the groom is prohibited until all the rituals are over.
The tamasha and the rush to the stage starts soon after the managa aarati! :)
T.N had progressed a lot - with everybody hugging/ shaking hands with everybody else!

In a recent wedding I attended the sastri told people not to hold the hand of the bride
BUT he himself held her hand in order to demonstrate to the groom
how to hold her 'kuvintha viralgaL!'
I wonder the positive energy got transmitted from who to whom! :)

“The tough gets going when the going gets tough!”

"STRUGGLE TO SURVIVE" IS THE MANTRA OF ALL LIVING THINGS!

do you want to kill time?
and look very busy?
Flog a dead horse!
Nothing will happen to it.
And nothing will happen to you either.
All the same you can look very busy
in the company of your like minded friends!

Disgusting disguises!

I always used to get mused by the disguises used in movies.
A large wart on the cheek or chin,
A pair goggles hiding the forehead and cheeks,
A simple scarf,
A pencil thin mustache.
a goatee,

A hat,
A handkerchief around the neck!!!

Food for thoughts quotes by Helen Rowland.

You will never win if you never begin.
(A job well begun is half done! ) :thumb:

Jealousy is the tie that binds and binds and binds.
(No wonder jealousy suffocates and strangulates!) :fear:

A husband is what is left of a lover after the nerve has been extracted.
(What is extracted from / added to FIANCEE to make her a wild wife???) :ohwell:

We got a loft in each room made by our special request.
I was happy about them till now when it is time to vacate them!
Wow it is similar to a session of last and found articles.
I saw many things I had clean forgotten I possessed.
Now time to rake the brain to get rid rid of them
in the most useful, effective and efficient way!

Never ever judge a book by its cover!

The man sitting next to me in the return flight from Mumbai can best be described by the word 'Kaattaan!"

I wondered whether he had entered the plane by a major mistake! But I was the one who had a made a major mistake looking at his appearance.

He was the OWNER of a bore well drilling company in Africa. Twenty people were working under him!

He had come down to India to buy more machinery for his company. He went to Africa as a worker, learned the secrets of the trade and has now become a 'MudalaaLi' himself! :thumb:

:decision:

Is Might always Right?

Do we become vulnerable by

1. trusting people,

2. by respecting people,

3. by obliging their requests,

4. by feeling as close as a family-

even when NOT related in anyway?

May be we do!

The world is funny.

It fears a snake and offers it milk and eggs

but milks a cow at times letting the calves starve!

Does that mean that “Might is Right”

and all soft and kind people will have to face

various problems in everyday live?

May be it is true!

Flirting is the gentle art of making a man feel pleased with himself.
(Flirting may not end up as gently as it was started in the man!)

Between lovers a little confession is a dangerous thing.
(Let secrets remain secret since truth scalds as a red hot iron.)

A man is like a cat, chase him and he will run -
sit still and ignore him and he will come purring at your feet.
(This is also true of women...Kenjinaal minjuvaaL! Minjinaal kenjuvaaL!)

The cab driver who drove us home was an interesting person.
He has a smiling face and was very cheerful when he spoke.

He lives in the city and his mother in Erode.
He had fixed a one bed room flat for Rs 4000(?!)-
and was looking forward to bringing his mother to the city.

Some of the old tenants in out apartment still pay 4 K to 5 K
for this two bedroom, two bathroom apartment!

May be when they move out the rent might become double!

If a person has to pay so much for the space enclosed by the
walls, ceiling and floor of the other tenants on the four sides,
what will be left for the other expenses like food and clothes???

But he was very cheerful all the same unperturbed by the high rent!

Telling lies is a fault in a boy, an art in a lover, an accomplishment
in a bachelor and the second nature of a married man!
(The evolution of falsehood along with the age of a man!) :thumb:

The tenderest spot in a man's make up is sometimes the bald spot on the top of his head.
(Truly unprotected even by the thin scanty hair on the dome! :))

In olden times sacrifices were made in an alter- a practice which is still continued today.
(But who is the 'Badi-Aadu' depends on the man and the woman to be wedded at the alter! )

God and sugar.

If THE SUPREME POWER is formless, all pervading, all knowing and all powerful….then why do we have Gods of so many names
and forms; qualities and attributes???

Sugar is one but the sweets are many. They differ in color, texture, intensity of the sweetness, forms
and names. Yet they are all made from the one and only sugar.

In the same way people have their preferences in everything they use, they wear and they eat.

The religion gives them the choice to select the god the person wants to worship.

After all no one loves to live a CHOICE-LESS-EXISTENCE!
Do we???

A name is given to a person to call him/her!

WHY is there so much of hue and cry when

a person is referred to his/ her original name??

If this is the case of a real name being used

what will happen if a nickname is used!!!
