The cupcakes made by my son and D.I.L for the Halloween celebrations last year had won a cash prize :first:

So they decided to buy something fancy and useful for the entire family and also the visitors.

They have purchased a lovely tooth pick dispenser.

The cute little bird picks up a single tooth pick from the box in which they are stored below its feet.

We can get a single tooth pick uncontaminated by dust or a dirty touch - every time you ask the bird!

Who gives free massages, as we gave fondly to our parents?? None...

Today's news in a renowned channel showed how females of all ages rush to
Ayurvedic massage centers, spending in thousands.

Dear Raji,

Our parents had four loving and doting daughters to give them a gentle massage!

But how many parents will be so lucky in the whole wide world???

The mechanical massager is made for the benefit of those people.

Kids love soal solution. The ticker it is ... the better they love it!

Blowing Soap bubbles is fun.

Chasing tem all ove the lawn is more fun.

So the soap dispenser of the olden times always got emptied on the bathroom counter

making the floor slippery in addition to wasting a lot of soap solution.

Now they have been replaced by the soap dispensers with sensores.

Put your hand below the dispenser and a single drop of the soak comes out.

Gone are the days when the kids can empty the soap solution in one go.

Now the soap solution last longer and the bathroom floors are safer!

Thanks to Modern technology for making life thriftier and safer! :thumb:

Indian fabrics are delicate and colourful. They will not stand the tumbling and tossing inside the giant washing machined used in USA.

Even cold water wash with delicate drying leaves many wrinkles in the clothes.

My Saadi-Chudi developed so many wrinkles after a wash that they became like the "kaip pidith thuNi" used in Indian kitchen! :(

I usually get the wrinkles remove from the washed clothes by placing them wrapped neatly in a towel under a heavy suitcase.

I was bored stiff to iron those dresses and at the same time they can't be worn again unless they are ironed and the creases are removed.

Presto My D.I.L. came up with an easy solution. She gave me a Travel steam iron resembling a colourful kettle with a nozzle.

All I had to do was to hang the dress - one piece at a time - from a hook inside the bathroom door and treat the surface of the dress with the hot steam emerging from the nozzle.

No table...no chair...no mess... no pressure...no waste of energy and

the dresses became as good as new in a jiffy! :thumb:

The Negative Positive!

“Thaazhvillai” got changed to “Thevalai” and
it later became “paravaaillai”.

The Hindi equivalent is “paravaa nahee” showing
how much alike our languages are.

In Telugu it is “paravaa lethaNdi!”

Strangely the usage is always NEGATIVE
giving a POSITIVE meaning.

There are NO terms like 'paravaa uNdu',
'paravaa hai' or 'parava unthaNdi'!!! :)

The Connoisseur

It takes a true rasigan to become a connoisseur of food and it makes his wife watch, learn, experiment new dishes on her beloved husband without hesitation.

Some husbands eat it in the same way whether it is a milk sweet or

saw dust ( not that any one will really be served the second item).

That throws a wet towel on the enterprising spirit of the women

since all they are going get in response to their efforts is a GRUNT!!!

I had imagined that beetroot is always purple in colour.

When I peeled the skin of the beetroot harvested from the organic home garden of my younger son and cut them into smaller cubes, I was stunned to see that they were all golden yellow in colour.

They taste the same but do not have the deep purple colour that puts off many people.

Later I looked up and found that there are at least five different types of beet root. How about a multi coloured beetroot salad??? :)

P.S

Those who love beetroot halwa /cake /chocolates / toffees can make use of the paler colours for better looks of the food served!!

But Chinese writer Jung Chang and her English husband John Halliday spent a whole decade digging through mountains of documents in and out of China and conducting interviews with family, close associates and opponents to uncover some of the darkest secrets in PRC and Mao’s 27-year reign. Will a quantum radar jammer be discovered soon??? :decision:

  • Technology
[h=3]Stealth bomber's advantage could disappear in face of China's new radar[/h] Chinese researchers claim to have developed a "quantum radar" that can defeat the B-2 stealth bomber's cloak of invisibility. The military-controlled China Electronics Technology Group (CTEC) say their new technology can easily detect stealth aircraft and is highly resistant to becoming jammed. Reports say the radar was created by the Intelligent Perception Technology Laboratory of CTEC. Conventional radar works by bouncing radio waves off an object and measuring the time taken for the waves to return, establishing the distance and speed of the object. The B-2 is invisible to conventional radar due to its top-secret stealth technology, which involves the use of materials that can absorb and neutralise

Do they really love the attention they get???

They were taller than the average Indian females.

They were darker than the average Indian females.

They were more muscular than the average Indian females.

They were dressed in glittering bright coloured sarees.

They had tied up their hair real high on their head and kept

jasmine flowers which were right on top of their heads.

They marched like sluts up and down the railway platform.

Do they really enjoy the attention they get???

P.S:

This time I met a he-she in the train dressed in blue silk sari and

speaking out auspicious words "nallathe nadakkum ungalukku

eppothum!"

I gave away a twenty rupee note to her for wishing the others well -

despite her own personal problems!

The two koolis who carried our luggages demanded Rs 300 for 6

luggage items. Mighty cheap since some people demand minimum

100 rupees for a luggage.

I had walked half the length of the train when on of the two koolis

came back pushing wheel chair for me- after keeping the luggage

in our compartment.

He did not expect anything for pushing me up to my compartment. I

for one do not believe is accepting any free services. I gave 30 Rs

and blessed him "vaazhga vaLamaudan" and wondered whether the

330 Rs paid by us will really make his life filled with VaLam!

I was clean bowled when he wished me " amma neengalum

vaazhga vaLamudan!" Let us spread goodness, kindness, cheer and

auspiciousness in every level.

Switch it on and set the small barriers as invisible walls.

Roomba cleans the floor/ carpet until they become as good as new!

It is common sight here that household chores get done

irrespective of whether the master/mistress is at home or not,

Dish washer washes the vessel and dries them out!

Washing machine washes the heavy loads after pre soaking.

Then given the rinse, the extra rinse and dries the clothes partially.

Roomba cleans the floors and carpets.

Rice cooker and pressure cooker cook the food- with appropriate delayed starting.

Small wonder women insist on doing a job. :typing:

What will they do with all their free time otherwise?? :clock:

Radar Jammer!

Bats locate their prey by means of a sophisticated echo-location system, very much similar to the Radar.

Moths can pick up the high pitched squeals of the bat from a range of hundred feet onwards. The range of the bat is only twenty feet!

So when a moth hears the sound signal sent out by a bat, it will often quietly drop to the ground in mid flight.

Some adventurous moths resort to dogfight. They engage in aerobatics to shake off the bat.

Super smart Tiger moths have even developed their own jamming device-an ultrasonic sound system which throws the bat completely off its target.

Man is only imitating Nature whenever he discovers anything new at all!

Dear VR ji,

I once had the chance to talk to a transgender in India.

He/She spoke very good English with very good accent..and he/she told me its so hard to get jobs becos they are treated badly and looked down upon and have to resort to begging at times to sustain a life.I told him/her to start some own small time business like selling flowers etc.

I told him/her in Msia transgenders do very well as make up advisers at cosmetic counters and have their own bridal business too.

He then said that India still is far behind in accepting a transgender and still view them negatively.

I liked how he/she spoke..he/she seemed very intelligent and expressive.

I gave him/her some money and he/she said some very pleasant words and thanked me for listening and understanding.

He/she made me smile.

BTW VR ji.surely they like some attention too..who doesn't?

I knew a transgender before ..he/she is dead now...very nice person who was totally depressed and lost in life..with my support and encouragement he started doing his Namaz again and Taubat(repent) for all his past actions and finally died a peaceful death becos of HIV.

I still remember how he cried and touched my feet and said if only someone showed him this much love he would have never got HIV.

So VR ji...I am happy to read that you too had good feelings for the transgender that he/she had only good words to tell all.

Dear Renu,

I think the condition of the trans genders will slowly improve and they will accepted in the main stream of the society slowly and steadily.

Already awareness has been created regarding this matter.

Being born as a trans gender is not the fault of the person. How and why would the general public punish a person for what is not his/her fault?

Trans genders can do many chores and tasks well and become useful citizens. They can earn honest money for a decent living. They need not be pushed into prostitution by compulsion to keep the body and soul together.
