Dear Sis,
Who upset you by :gossip:?
Why so many posters? :noidea:
I fail to understand the UNIVERSAL infatuation for a fair skin or a lighter complexion! :der:
முழுவதும் பகலாய் இருந்தாலும் கடினம்;
வாழ்வு, தாழ்வு என்றொரு ஜோடி;

Dear Renu,
Those who are very fair feel superior and scorn the people in the other shades of brown and black
Those who are not very fair are ready to anything to become ultra fair.
You have said it well that we Indians have no feeling of body-shame or color-shame.
We just accept ourselves as we are - without bothering about whether the two thighs touch each other
or whether we have love handles in the midriff!!!
That goes a long way to have our own peace of mind and that of the people around us.
May be we realize that we are not this body but we are ONLY trapped in this body!
Turmeric and chana flour is the best cosmetic when made into to a smooth paste with milk/curds/ water.
It really makes the face glow since it does not remove the natural oil of the skin.
Turmeric adds brightness to the face.
To tell you the truth I feel very beautiful when I go out rarely, when I see the
pained faces of the youngsters and the furrowed prune face of the elders!
Beauty is thing of the mind more than that of a body or a face.
Dear VR ji...healthy body weight is important.
Being satisfied with self does not mean neglecting self.
Disciplined life is needed to maintain a steady state of health..but aging is inevitable.
Superiority comes in many shades..some feel beauty is superior..some feel brains is superior..some feel its power..some feel its money..position..community..caste..religion.
It can be anything that makes a person feel superior.
Indians tend to be harsh on themselves when it comes to skin color..a dark skinned Indian girl won miss USA once but the worst comments on her came from India.
The Indian comments were about her dark skin saying she would never be considered beautiful to become miss India.
The racists comments were whites were different though..they thought she was Arab.
So it was only the Indian who puts down his own race.
Dear Sis,
Indians DO care for the body color though there is a song: 'karupputhaa enakkup pudichcha colour-u'.
Matrimonial sites are overflowing with search for fair / very fair spouses! :fish2:
Even for men, fairness creams are in plenty, in the Indian market!
Many don't think, "Beauty is thing of the mind more than that of a body or a face!" :nono:
