Think or sink!

The sewing machine had developed many minor repairs over the past 24 years.

It used to obey me and I knew how to get work out of it.

Now it has been given for through servicing, I wonder how much

different and easier the stitching will be in future!

May be I will thank the spool of thread which wound round its wheel in a matter of seconds-

jamming the machine and making the belt slip over with no effect whatever on the machine.

It will cost pretty penny but may be it is all for my own Good and to save my ankles from strain!

Thank God! My sewing machine is serviced by me once in

6 months and has been like my friend since 1976! ;)

It's belt is vegan!! Wonder how?

I made it, by twisting the border of a saree, like a rope!

அணைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; அன்பைக் காட்டுங்கள்;
பிணைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் - பின்பு பிரிக்க முடியாதபடி!

I wonder how you fixed the two ends of the border without creating a naughty knot!
You must have stitched the free ends of a measured length of the b
order and then slipped it over the wheel successfully.

i met the auto driver who looked like a police man ( minus the famous thoppai!)

He was reading the Tamil Newspaper voraciously without wasting a minute,

while I had to wait outside a shop for my husband to come out.

He said he had studied only up to the sixth standard.

He proudly said that both his sons are engineering students.

They were doing Mechanical and civil engineering course.

Is the income of an auto driver so huge or is he so very thrifty???

One mami always gives Rs 51 or Rs 101 with thaamboolam.

I found a very efficient way of returning her favor.

I buy her books from Giri traders and she simply loves books.

It is said that when we receive and at of kindness we must pass it on!

That is if we are NOT able to return it to the 'do-gooder'!

Books are the most wonderful gifts to anyone.

They can be used not only by the recipients but by everyone.

அதுவரை....?

You must have stitched the free ends of a measured length of the b
order and then slipped it over the wheel successfully.
These are the steps:

Twist the border for a length - a little more than needed.

Slip it through the small wheel and other holes which keep belt in place.

Pull the ends tightly without passing through the big wheel.

Put a slanting stitch, holding tightly. Cut the extra length.

Twist the stitched portion.

The surprise is that this will fit perfectly over the big wheel!!!! :thumb:

Don't be too sweet like a sugar cane lest you get cut, sliced, beaten up and

crushed since you are supposed to give out nothing but sweetness

always like the sugar cane aka aalai-vaaik-karumbu! :nono:

We just got the long awaited Smart Card for using in the Ration shop!

My heat jumped a few beats when I saw a stranger with an egg shaped head
(both mottaith thalai and muttaith thalai) staring at me from the photo.

All the other info were correct including the spelling of the name.
This stranger was marked with my husband's name! :frusty:

Corollary:

Neither the people are nor the card is really smart! :(

Imagine a household with all kinds of expenses and NO INCOME!

Our association has become similar to that cursed household.

The monthly maintenance is a real joke and

even that is NOT being paid by many people.

The salaries are paid after collecting the maintenance from people

who still have enough scruples left in them as to pay their dues!!!

What a shame (Sham?) :frusty:

When the list of people who refuse to pay their due was posted

on all the blocks and near the front gate their pourusham was awakened.

But let it not make you assume that they finally paid their dues.

They tore up all the notices to shreds but DID NOT pay their dues!

What a perverted sense of honor!!! :(

"தேர் போன்ற கார் எதற்கு உமக்கு
ஊர் முழுவதும் பேர் நாறும் போது???"

The funniest thing is the way they brag about the money they blow in

restaurants/ cinema halls/ travels and other entertainments.

Little do they know that they themselves are providing free entertainment

for the whole colony by their weird behavior and crooked mentality!

Novice People learn their jobs at our expenses!

A motor was removed from its seat in a bore well.

The customary practice is to tie the motor with a strong rope before disturbing its seating!

This norm was not followed and the motor fell right into the well reaching it bottom.

How can one retrieve a motor from that depth???

All known methods were employed but in vain.

The motor is resting well under the well water.

A new motor has been installed and may be

taken away any day since it has been paid for!

Even then the geniuses here will decide to bash the office bearers with (A)dharma adi

rather pay up their dues and make sure that their nit wit friends also pay up their dues!

People want running water/ sewage / electricity for common area/ parking slots/ security for their

homes and folks WITHOUT paying the monthly maintenance (which is a real joke!)

She is so different from the other ladies coming to the temple.

She is all yellow with liberal use of turmeric powder!

She would kneel down, hold her pallu in front of her and seem to communicate

with Devi using a special hotline...known only to both of them.

She is a newcomer and none of us knew much about her background.

Apparently her family was very well do, owning a jewelry shop and building apartments.

She and her husband were cheated by three different persons of the gold advanced by them.

Now they have slid down in their status and fortune.

One good thing is that both her children are extremely brilliant.

Once they finish their education and get a well paid job all their woes will come to an end.

I like her optimism, the time she devotes for her children and deep unshakable faith in Devi.

May all her prayers, wishes and dreams come true soon! :amen:

The cost of vegetables has sky rocketed.

I wonder how the Iyangar mama supplying meals on wheels still manages to

deliver the carrier with four items viz sambar, rasam, kootu and poriyal for

a mere 70 Rs for the occasional buyers and 50 Rs for the regular buyers!!!
