My father visited my house in Vizag, when my sons were still in high school.

My husband had to leave for the office at 7-30 A.M.
My elder son to his school at 8 A.M
and the younger son at 8-30 A.M.

So they would be looking for their socks, shoes, belt, badge, bag, specs etc, when it is time to go out.

I would be kept on my toes from 7-30 to 8-30 just to help them locate the things they were looking for. :roll:

On the very first day, after all the three left home, my father a man of few words told me,

"I though you had two sons. But I just saw that you actually have three!"

And I have spoiled all the three of them by pampering them too much.

My sons live in USA and they had to learn to do everything on their own sooner or later.

My (older to me) son remains more or less the same, even today!

Morpho Butterfly

Most types or morpho butterflies are colored metallic blue and green. The small scales on the morpho butterfly’s body reflect sunlight, so that the morpho butterfly’s wings shimmer.

But, the morpho butterfly’s wings are very uniform. This is because of the morpho butterfly’s diamond-shaped scales. The underside of the morpho butterfly is covered with eye-spots called ocelli.

Not all morpho butterflies have colors that appear to change when seen from different angles, but all morpho butterfies have ocelli.

There are different species of morpho butterfles. Usually, only the male morphos are more colorful and very attractive.

Their beautiful wings are used to make attractive jewelry such as pendents, rings and ear rings.

Arguments are a dime a dozen especially in forums like this where many people interact. But true friends are hard to find.

There was a time when I used to shudder at the very thought of Holi.

The HOliday would be a holiday as well. The teenagers in the township we used to live, (who had nothing better to do) would descend on the streets with color powders and water guns.

The people hiding inside their houses would be forcefully drawn outside and drenched in colored water.

I used to lay a condition to the young vAnara sEna that I don't mind a colorfu bindhi on my forehead bot no drenching with colored water.

Today it appears to be a distant dream but it is still very real for the young adolescents, who would not miss the opportunities this festival gives to mingle and jingle with the opposite gender - without raising any eyebrow!

The tug of war!!!


Woman is the personification of love.

Woman also yearns for unlimited love.

When she thinks she is not getting enough of it

She becomes a relentless seeker of it.

There is a worldwide belief that no two

women can coexist in peace under the same roof.

The reason.... the quest for love and its confirmation.

That is why there is always a tug-of war going on

between the mother and the wife of a man.:boink:

They want constant reassurance from him.
In that process they make his life a hell. :fencing:

Why can't they love the man from the same side -

instead of from opposite sides...tearing him into two!?

Three words and two alphabets.

"I love you" has three words.
"I told you!" also has three words.

But there is a world of difference between these two sentences.

The first one suggests that
"Anything you do is always OK with me!"

The second one suggests
"Everything you do is always wrong!" :whip:

So while the first sentence is the sweetest in the world, the second is the harshest!

The words 'love ' and 'told' have two common alphabet
'l' and 'o'.

Just the two simple alphabets which differ, change the meaning and mood of the statements upside down!

What a wonderful power these simple words and tiny alphabets seem to possess!! :shocked:

We attended the Carnival held in our grandchildren's school.

The Girls' bathroom had a funny type of bolting system.

There as a big hole and the bolt can be moved by putting the finger in the hole.

It would also allow anyone curious enough, to watch the inside of the bathroom.

I felt weird on seeing this system.

I understood its need when I watched that the grown up children (who were still

less than 14 years old) needed only the cover offered by a pillar and few seconds

to steal a kiss right in the middle of a gathering of hundreds of people!

Today's children mature very fast and also manage their affairs very well!

The difference between a Manager and a Worker...???

A man becomes a 'Manager' not because he knows to work

but because he knows how to 'manage' the workers.

The difference between the lazy and the busy people...???

The idle 'pretends' to be busy with no free time to spare where as the real busy people always appear very cool and relaxed-with a lot of free time.

Life is like that!

P.S

Once a family member asked me what do you between 3 P.M and 4 P.M. everyday?

The question was because I used to work on and one with no free time in between and this slot was at that time free!

I wanted to ask that person, "What do YOU do from dawn to dusk?"

The favorite work/ hobby/ pastime of that person was to sit and stare at the ceiling all day long!

It had dawned on that person that

May sound strange but is very true!!!

Haste makes waste.

My father - a devoted doctor-always used to quote one of his professors,

who it seems used to tell the class, "Gentlemen! We have no time to

waste. So please DO NOT hurry!"

It may look like an oxymoron but what we try to do in haste, and it goes in

waste, we end up doing the same job twice - wasting more of the precious time which we originally wanted to save! :clock:

Nearly 24 years ago, I had a student whom came to me for maths tuition.

She was the heroine of the kaappam episode, in which she was giggling uncontrollably and confessed that she had eaten appam made with kaLLu for the evening snack.

One day I told her to ask me any doubt she had.

She asked me point blank how to use a popular birth control device, making me perform a sitting high jump.:shocked:

I had expected some doubt in mathematics, but nothing was farther from my thoughts than the doubt she asked me.

I told her she DOES NOT need to know it now. When the need arises she will be told all about it by her parents.

I tipped her father that she needs close supervision to make her
concentrate only on her studies. Later she stopped coming for tuition.

May be she could not face me or may be she got into some trouble and stayed away.

It was NOT the INTERNET saga. People still asked the elders the things that they did not know about.

Reading about the arrest of a doctor who performs abortion for a mere 1500 Rs, I was reminded of this incident that took place nearly 24 years ago.

In spite of this being the Internet saga :doh:

girls are still curious,

girls are still ignorant,

girls still get into trouble

for the mischief they do and

girls still seek the help of a quack
to set right their problems! :whoo:
