Think or sink!

Someone has pulled off parts of the moustache of our cat!
Must be the little one - who had been trying to pull out its tail but in vain.
Well now he has succeeded in his mission - pulling out something successfully.

Strangely the cat never attacks him for all the trouble he gives the cat.
On the other hand, it chases the elder one and tries to claw him whenever possible.
Really scary! Right?

Corollary:
Good looking tiny tots can do ANYTHING and get away with it!
Revelation:
The tiny tot thinks that grownups can do anything they want and get away with it!
Howzzzzzzzzzzzat???

Bhagavathy Bhaagavatam – An Introduction

சொந்தப் பணியாற்றும் வல்லமை பெற்றனரோ;

எல்லோருக்கும் தியானத்துக்கு உகந்ததோ;

இந்த உலகத்தின் காரணம் என்கிறார்களோ;

அந்தப் பராசக்தியை; உலகின் அன்னையை;

இந்த உலகைப் படைத்துக் காத்து அழிக்கிறாளோ;

சொந்த முயற்சியால் சிவனை அடைந்தாளோ;

Geeks Go Green !
Here to minimize air pollution people are encouraged to use bicycles instead of cars-
whenever and wherever possible. Today is the 'bike to work day' here!
The bonus / incentive offered is a lovely T shirt of the right size! :)

The things I like most about Colorado:
1. We can return the milk containers instead of recycling them or trashing them -
polluting the air, the water and the land.
2. Vegetable wastes and uneaten food are collected separately and composted to get manure.
3. Recycling is done in an elaborate scale.
4. Water saving faucets and shower heads are given free of cost to save the precious water.
5. Bicycling is promoted for short distance travels.
6. Trees and flower beds are well tended and every house has a well trimmed lawn!
Several s mall steps can result in a giant leap for mankind! :)

When you come to the end of your rope,
tie a knot in it and hang on to it!

The superior man blames himself;
The inferior man blames the others!

When in doubt, follow your conscience
and apply the golden rule.

Conceit is God's gift to little men.
The truly great are humble and simple.

A man is incapable of consoling another
only when his words come not from his heart.

In joys and woes the saints will aid,
if men will call,
for the blue sky bends over all.

A Good company is worth anything in the world.
A good friend anything in the universe.

See these five "C"s!

The five "C" of a successful marriage:

Courtesy...Are you tactful, kind and appreciative?

Companionship...Are you a real good friend?

Cooperation...Are you good in sharing joys and sorrows?

Cheerfulness...Is your home a nice place to come back to?

Children...Are you taking this insurance against boredom?

It is God's wish that we take His comforting as largely and mightily as we might,
and also we take our troubles as lightly as we might and set them at naught.

God makes provision for victory and never for defeat.

God lifts up all those who are down and out and makes them winners.

More than half the troubles in the world come because of words.

These three sieves will keep some words from being spoken:

Is it true ? Is it kind ?? Is it necessary ???

A cup brimful of sweet water cannot spill even one drop of bitter water - however jolted.

Fill your heart with the sweet honey of love so that you will never spill out a bitter word.

The human tongue is strange!
It has no bones but yet it is stronger than the skeleton of the body!
It is no edges but it can become sharper than a knife / sword!
It can play double role - one in the presence and another in the absence of the person targeted.
It can be just 4" inches long but be branded as 4 cubits long (naakku naalu muzham!)
It sends into the body harmful / poisonous substances
It sends out of the person poisonous / hateful words!
Small wonder all the problems in life and one's health
may be traced back to this weirdest part of the body!

What is the difference between nEsam and pAsam???

nEsam is PURE SELFLESS LOVE which can be given to anyone... familiar / unfamiliar.
It benefit both the giver and the receiver equally.

pAsam on the other hand is towards people who are very close to us.
PAsam is an invisible bondage as the word itself means a rope!
It is not selfless or uncontaminated with any expectations

Saints and sadhus denounce the world and so they are rid of pAsam.
But still they love humanity and wish to do good for everyone.
So they may still be steeped in nEsam but it does not bind them in any way!

Tomorrow can only be what you have done today.

We must put our temper in a fire-proof safe and double lock it.

Let thoughts precede action. Naught was accomplished without plans.

'Take care of your coat while it is new.
Take care of your honor while it is young".

"Our lives are songs, God writes the words,
And we set them the music at pleasure;
And the song grows glad or sweet or sad,
As we choose to fashion the measure."
Psalm 5: XI.

God is a cosmic bellboy for whom we can
press a button to get what we want...
but only if we trust in HIM implicitly!

Beware of what you wish for...
for you may actually get it!

"Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation,
for it is better to be alone than with bad company."
George Washington.

"If you destroy a free market, you create a black market.
If you have ten thousand regulations, you destroy all respect for law."
Churchill.

We do not count a man's years until he has nothing else to count.

What is lovely never dies, but passes into other loveliness.

He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare.
He who has an enemy shall meet him everywhere.

Love is only a chatter.
Friends are all that matter.

Everything is in tri colour - to welcome the Independence Day!
Sweets, necklaces, scarves, decorations, flags and umpteen other things!
People value their Independence but they must also know how to protect it!
Maybe it is one of those things which are hard to gain and easy to lose!

Ice breakers!
Children are the natural ice breakers and are the best.
But when there are no children around the next best ice breaker is a smile and a word of greeting.
Today the old man who was also using a cane kept staring at me as if his eyes would pop out!
When anyone is stared at in this manner, the person's legs become like lotus-stalks and tend to wind around each other.
So to break the ice and the icy stare along with its glare, it is best to give a broad smile and wish loudly. It works every time!

If anyone thinks that English Grammar is difficult try learning German.
I am sure Deutch is one of the toughest languages in the world -
spelling wise, pronunciation wise and grammar wise.
I came across an interesting degree of comparison yesterday
In English we say interesting..more interesting .. most interesting.
But in German the same words are become so complicated and so much longer.
Given below are the degrees of comparison in German for the word 'intelligent'
intelligent ......intelligenter....am intelligentesten

Variety is the spice of life!
More the number of choices ... the more confused we become.
Unless we have an idea of our exact requirements or of those
which we definitely do not require, it is difficult to come to a decision!
Choices are good but do we really need so many of them?

White men and women of colour are more friendly to me than white women and men of colour!
The white men greet or smile or do both!
White women avoid eye contact.
I am not sure it is white supremacy!
But something is there like thin screen between them and us!
Old white women on the other hand are very friendly.
They exchange peasantries, admiration (for the colorful clothes we wear)
and also admiration to the family of one of sons and his family accompanying us.
A moustache-wala sitting on a high van commented when he saw me walking with my son,
"Your son must have great respect for you!"
"Yes of course. I too respect him for all his good qualities! " I replied to the man.
Here the grown ups accompany either a friend / or the spouse /or the lover/ or a family of tiny tots.
It is very rare to see them accompanying the aged parents.
