Grand preparation may at times end in a fiasco or just fizzle out.
Grand preparation doe not necessarily mean a grand success.

The best example for this is the movie which is expected to take off like a rocket
but nosedives like an aircraft hit by a missile by an enemy country!

I once visited a house where the mami was selling food items to the neighbors.
She was so unhappy to feed us during our visit and short stay in her place.
She could have charged us for the food and we would have happily paid her.

The very thought of giving something free to someone when
it can be sold for ready cash makes some people very unhappy.

Classes for learning to sing or to play musical instruments or Art or any Sports is very costly here.
The well to do parents spend a fortune to get their children learn something useful and fun.

Apparently 5 minutes' (power-packed?) classes are available for a small fees of 2$!!!

I bet the teacher grudges the very short intervals of time spent in between these short classes!
When Time = Money, every second is calculated in terms of money.

I am a fan of bitter gourd - after I learnt how beneficial they are to our good health.
The other day I was preaching my grand kids the virtues of bitter gourd.

My little grandson said, "But they are so bitter to taste!"
I told him, "That is precisely why they are good for health.
Otherwise who would ever eat it despite its bitter taste?

On the other hand all the tasty stuff- sweet, spicy, salty and oily
need no advertisement as they can attract people by their taste!

களித்து விளையாடிய கண்ணனின் மகன்கள்
களைத்து நீர் வேட்கை மிகுந்ததால் ஒரு
கிணற்றில் எட்டிப் பார்த்தனர்; அங்கே
கிண்ணென்று கல் போன்ற ஒரு ஓணான்.

அற்புதமான அதனை அவர்களால் வெளியே,
எத்தனை முயன்றும் தூக்க இயலவில்லை.
கண்ணனிடம் சென்று கூறினர் பிள்ளைகள்
மண்ணுலகோர் காணா விந்தையைப் பற்றி.

இடத்தை அடைந்த கண்ணன் தன் சிவந்த
இடக்கையால் தூக்கி வெளியே எடுத்தான்;
கண்ணன் கைபட்டவுடனேயே அந்த ஓணான்
பொன்னிற தேவனாகவே மாறி விட்டது!

பட்டாடைகளும், பலப்பல ஆபரணங்களும்
பளபளக்கும் ஒரு வாலிபனாக மாறியது.
பணிவுடன் கண்ணன் தாள்களை அவன்
பணிந்து தன் கதையைக் கூறலானான்.

வேணு கோபாலனின் கை ஸ்பரிசத்துக்கு.

காத்திருந்தது சற்றும் வீண்போகவில்லை.
“காலமெல்லாம் உன்மீது நான் கொண்ட
பக்தி மாறாமலேயே நிலைத்து இருக்க
பக்தனுக்கு அருள் செய்வாய் கண்ணா!”

பொன் விமானத்தில் ஏறிக் கொண்டான்;
பொன்னுலகம் பறந்து சென்றான் நிருகன்.
நல்லதையே எண்ணிச் செய்யும் போதும்
நாம் எதிர்பாராத தீயவிளைவுகள் வரலாம்!

The message conveyed is to keep on trying until one succeeds -

Many people want to show off their non existing intelligence by talking on

Women deceive themselves - thinking that they are liberated, free and independent!

They still curl their straight eyelashes and they straighten their curly hair,

They shave off their dead facial skin along with all the facial hair to get a 'glow'

They dye their hair in the colors of a rainbow.

They get every body part which can't be pulled off ....pulled up!

They change their facial features to look like nothing-on-earth!

They have their body fat sucked off!

They get their butts sculptured to resemble a zebra? hippo? GOK!

They get their boob-jobs with implants - braving the possible ruptures and leaks!

They manage to walk on towering high heels - braving the pain and the bunions!

They manage to go around (un)dressed - leaving nothing to the imagination!

They pay the expenses, bear the pain, put up with the harm they are self inflicting

...........just to make a man / many men happy and get visually raped by them ?????

Tell me really how can anyone doing all these things to please MEN be truly liberated???

A truly liberated person is one who accepts himself / herself as he/she really is

and whom all the others accept as he/ she really is!

வேத விற்பன்னரான உத்தாலகரிடம்
வேதம் பயின்ற ஒரு சீடர் கஹோளர்;
நியம நிஷ்டைகளில் சிறந்த போதிலும்,
திறமை குறைந்தவர் வேதப் பயிற்சியில்.

சீலம், பக்தி, நற்குணம் பெற்றிருந்ததால்,
சீலவதி குருவின் மகளையே மணந்தார்.
வேத பாடத்தின்போது அருகே அமர்வாள்
மாதரில் சிறந்த குருவின் மகள் சுஜாதை.

கருவில் உருவான குழந்தையும் கூட,
கருவிலேயே வேதம் கேட்டுப் படித்தது;
தந்தையின் தவறுகளைக் கேட்டு வருந்தி,
விந்தையாய் எட்டுக் கோணல் அடைந்தது!

அஷ்ட வக்கிரன் என்று பெயர் பெற்றவன்,
கஷ்டமான வேத, வேதாந்தங்களைத் தன்
பாலப் பருவத்திலேயே நன்கு பயின்றதால்
பால சூரியனைப் போலவே திகழ்ந்தான்.

மிதிலையில் நிகழ்ந்த பெரிய யாகத்துக்கு
மிதப்புடன் சென்றவனைத் தடுத்தான்,
தோற்றத்தை மட்டும் கண்டு ஏமாந்த,
ஏற்றத்தை அறியாத அறிவிலி சேவகன்.

“வெளித் தோற்றம் அறிவுக்குப் பிரமாணமா?
வெளி வடிவம் பருத்து, உள்ளே பஞ்சு ஆனால்?
முதிர்ச்சி என்பது வெறும் வயதினால் அல்ல;
முதிர்ச்சி என்பது ஞானத்தாலேயே உண்டு.”

வாத நிபுணன் வந்தியைத் தன்னுடைய
வாதத்தால் வென்ற அஷ்டவக்கிரன், தன்
தந்தையை நீரில் மூழ்கடித்துக் கொன்ற அந்த
வந்திக்கும் அதே கதியை ஏற்படுத்தினான்.

தோற்றத்தைக் கண்டு ஒரு மனிதனின்
ஏற்றத்தை நாம் எடை போட வேண்டாம்.
தோற்றங்கள் நம்மை ஏமாற்றிவிடலாம்;
ஏற்றங்களை நாம் உணருதல் வேண்டும்.

142b. Do not awaken the sleeping dog.

A dog is more dangerous when awake than when asleep.
I guess this is true of all animals - including the two legged animal man.
It is wisdom not to disturb anything (or anyone) sleeping ( or pretending to sleep).

Siva Sahasra nAma
There are at least eight different variations of the S’iva Sahasra nAma. One appearing in the Book 13 (Anus’asana Parva) of MahA bhArata is considered as the main version.
One version is contained in Linga purANa while another version in MahAbhArata. Identical names of Siva and Vishnu occurring in the sahasra nAmas have led Adhi Sankara to conclude that both Siva and VishNu are identical and they both are monotheistic GOD.
This conclusion forms the basic concept of Advaitam.
Also other names of Siva were told by Sree Krishna himself to Yudhisthira in the MahA bhAratha. Again Krishna himself recited another version of the Shiva Sahasranama, the 1008 names of Siva in the 17th chapter of AnushAsanaparva of MahA bhAratha.
