Nara, My post was made in reference to post # 36, regarding austerity and debt control - the point is that the main political parties have not been consistent in their stand on this issue. It appears in 2006 (perhaps you can verify this) when the debt ceiling was increased, 48 members in the senate (all of them democrats) voted against it.

Of course, for people who are sold on to propaganda of one party or the other, the most common excuse that comes in handy is "That is different; this is different!"
KB, if you have followed my writings you should know that I have no sympathy for the Democrats or Obama, they are as much a corporatist party as the Republicans. I did not vote for Obama in 2008 and neither did I in 2012. As one who views Democrats and Republicans with equal contempt on economic policy matters (I do side with the Democrats on social matters) I think there is no equivalency between the Democrats and Republicans when it comes idiosy and a total lack of rationality. Unless you are sold on the Republican talking points you should know better.

Surprisingly I resonate with this post since my take is the same. Do not trust either party .. corruption rules. On social issues I am liberal but conservative on fiscal issues. I have been a swing voter most of the years...

Janet Yellen is now officially nominated as Head of US Fed Reserve...Not sure about her final take on QE...Looks like she will continue this for some more time...Her priority seems to be boosting employment by keeping rates low...Seen as a Dove in official circles (in steps of her predecessor)

Janet Yellen is known as a friend of the poor (at least projected image) unlike Ben Bernanke who was the antiseptic academic. But Bernanke has served the country and the world well by managing to avert much of the disaster. Too bad neither of them are as "good looking" as Raghuram Rajan!

i dont care for many of the so called tea baggers ,,, (as Bill Maher calls them .. I know it is not a good word ) :-)

I know a few decent people who identify with the theme of tea party people (without emphasis on social issues)..
